Jesus the Savior Matthew 1:18-21
Before the creation of the world, God had a plan to save mankind (Ephesians 1:4-6, 3:11). This plan is a part of God's intention to create the heavens and the earth (1 John 3:8), and Jesus came into this world to fulfill God's will (John 19:30).
Today's text testifies that Jesus will be conceived by the Holy Spirit and that the meaning of the name Jesus is the one who will save everyone from their sins (Matt. In Matthew 20:28 and Mark 10:45, Jesus himself said, "I came to give my life as a ransom for many." That's right. God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to save all people from their sins (John 3:16). Therefore, God is the ruler and provider of salvation. Jesus himself is the savior. The Holy Spirit is the confirmer of salvation.
Dear saints, God made Jesus the only Lord of salvation. In Acts 4:12, Esau said, “There is no other name under heaven given by which men can be saved,” and in 1 Thessalonians 5:9, he says, “Salvation is made possible through Jesus Christ.” Then, if we summarize the conditions of salvation mentioned in the Bible, there are three things.
first. Faith.
Mark 16:15-16 says, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature; whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned", and in John 11:25-26, " Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die." '" and "For through faith you have been saved, and this does not come from yourselves, it is the gift of God." And the common denominator spoken here in 1 Peter 1:9 is clearly faith.
Second, repentance.
In Matthew 3:2, John the Baptist exclaimed, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." And in Acts 2:38, Peter said, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins." The common denominator here is obviously repentance. The forgiveness of sins through repentance saves us from our sins and places us in the class of children of God.
Third, you must confess with your mouth.
Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that your God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Salvation”, and in Matthew 10:33, “If anyone confesses me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.” what do you mean? Confess with your mouth, confess, and speak in front of people. Dear saints, If you hide your faith in Jesus in front of people and are ashamed and deny it, you cannot be considered a true Christian. Then, if you are saved by meeting these three conditions of salvation, what will be the result of that salvation?
(1) We become children of God (Galatians 3:26-28). In John 1:12, God gave us the authority to become children of God.
(2) Enjoy spiritual abundance. “I will eat in you, you in me, and I with you, and you with me.” I am the good shepherd, I will lead you by green pastures and still streams. The water will become in him a spring of water springing up to eternal life.”
(3) The way of salvation will be preached (Acts 16:17). “Let me open my mouth and speak the word boldly” (Ephesians 6:19), and in Matthew 28:20, “Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. "I did.
(4) The purpose of life becomes clear (Romans 14:8). From self-centered to God-centered, I, who was not satisfied with worldly things, will live a satisfied life in Jesus.
