Title: Jesus the Way / John 14:5-6

Contents

There are many roads in the world.

Everyone comes and goes that many roads.

If you go wrong, your entire life can change.

Some people take the wrong way to get married and live their whole life depressed, some people get kicked out of high power because they take the wrong way in politics, and some people take the wrong way of doing business and lose all their fortunes and end up in bankruptcy. Some people are early, and some people choose the wrong path of learning and regret it for the rest of their lives.

However, how many people are conscious of their path? Most people simply do not know that they are repeating their path meaninglessly today. How many people live by asking “Why am I going this way?” or “Where am I going now?” It is said that modern people are living while losing themselves, unconsciously and purposelessly forgetting their existence.

If you think about it, it is true that life is a being that is heading somewhere. It's just going somewhere, not knowing where it is!...No one stands still. Because to live means to move, and to move means to go somewhere.

Life is definitely going somewhere, but those without faith considered it death. He said he was going towards death, step by step, step by step. However, this is very ignorant and irresponsible. Because if life is simply a being on the way to death, it is too meaningless and too futile. Death will come when the time is right even if you are quiet!...It is too irresponsible to say that you are going towards death. To say that we are living and breathing now means that we are living because we are going somewhere. It's just that when you go to a life where you don't know where you're going, you're living, but in reality, it's just like a dead life.

1. But Jesus referred to himself as the way.

John the Baptist, who came six months before Jesus, said that he had come to prepare this way. And about 600 years before the birth of the Lord, Isaiah prophesied to make straight the way of the Lord. Every mountain shall be made low, and every valley shall be filled to become a level plain. That is why Jesus is said to be “the One who accomplished the way”. And the people who believed in him were called “those who cut the way”. In other words, “people on the road”. Seen in this way, we who believe in Jesus are those who go on the road with Jesus. It is not a path that we go alone, but a path that follows Jesus' path, and is a path we walk with Jesus.

So, what is the life of faith? It means going on the road with Jesus.

Some people still think and speak of the Christian faith only theologically or doctrinal. That's why they don't have Jesus in their lives. A life of faith is not a big deal. With whom do you go along the path of life? When I say that, I mean going with Jesus Christ. This is a very important word.

Who do you go with? Because it is very important to do.

Some people try to take this road with riches. So if you open your eyes for the rest of your life, money! money! There are people who think that life is over without money. Such a person evaluates all values in money. In the end, life like this will end with money.

Everyone! What you can often read in newspapers is that someone committed suicide... in the end, they took their lives because of material things and money. It means that when you go through life with money and the money leaves you, your life will come to an end.

Some people want to go down this road only with power and honor. That is why there are many people who have been looking for a political line for the rest of their lives. And, there are people who jump in regardless of whether they are famous for their lifetime. It's the world's warfare, so I'm going to try to write it down. It doesn't suit me, it doesn't fit the fountain, but the bigger the title, the more I try to use it.

Then, eventually, there are people who end their lives by being pointed at by the people of the world along with the battle.

On the other hand, there are those who want to go down this road with the pursuit of the pleasures of physical sensuality for the rest of their lives. No matter how old you are, you don't know how many people are passionate about the field. In particular, there are those who are all interested in eating whatever is good for their stamina. Oftentimes, these people end up in their ugly final years with their bodies.

So who am I going with now? Depending on what he does, the end of his life will also change. Jesus Christ clearly called himself “the way, the truth, and the life.” This means that when you go with Jesus Christ, you will be guided in the way of truth and the way of life.

2. So what's the problem with us now?

Am I really going with the way Jesus Christ? is.

Is the Lord with me on my way? is.

Now, is the Lord with me in the simple parts of my life where I am staying? is. We should seriously ask ourselves this question.

Just as Jesus' parents in Luke 2 knew that they were walking with him and then went down the road for a day and found that Jesus was not there, isn't that what we are today? you'll think about it.

Even if anyone asks, there are many people who can confidently answer that I am a believer in Jesus. But if they are not actually walking with Jesus, how can they be called people of Jesus? There is nothing more ridiculous than saying that non-Jesus followers follow Jesus.

Everyone has created their own Jesus!... There are many cases where they say they believe in the Jesus who was created based on their personality and their own taste.

The path Jesus Christ took was never the path I am going now, but there are cases where I am mistaken for going that path with Jesus right now. We must reflect on ourselves at least once.

Today, this is not a question that is only asked of Christians. This is a question that should be asked of all religious people. Looking at the newspapers these days, I saw Buddhists walking around temples with the Tripitaka Koreana version of the Tripitaka Koreana. And I also saw that, regardless of what they say, monks and bodhisattvas, we Buddhists all say that we must turn back to the Buddha's teachings.

It's the same thing for us. Are we really going the way he taught us, and are we going the way he went, saying that we are Christians?... We should examine ourselves and follow the path of the Lord with him.

3. What kind of path has he shown us and taught us? It is a path of paradox. Whoever wants to live will die, and whoever wants to die will live.

It is such a way that anyone who wants to become the best must become a servant.

If the enemy is hungry, you have to feed them, if you hit the left cheek, you will get the right cheek, if you go for a duck, you have to go 10 li, and if you ask for a coat, you have to give out your underwear.

So Nietzsche objected by calling this path the moral of slavery.

So Gi-gil was opium for the exploitation of the proletariat, and Max and Lenin insisted on violence for the class struggle.

Indeed, this is a difficult road. That is why it is called the Way of the Cross.

If anyone wants to come after me, he must take up <his cross> and tear me up. What does <his cross> mean? This is not just a simple hardship. It is the suffering, sacrifice, and suffering experienced on the road with Jesus Christ. To believe in Jesus means to endure, lose, and lose because of that one thing.

But strange things happen to those who walk in the path of the Lord like this. In other words, the Lord is with you. In the end, it seems that we are losing, but it makes us win, and it seems that we are losing, but He pays us back several hundred times, and even though we are near death, He guides us on the path of life. I experienced this firsthand through 6.25. Even though the road to walk with the Lord is rough and painful, you will enjoy true peace of mind. However, on the contrary, there is no peace of mind in the path that we should walk with the Lord according to the lusts of the flesh.

Therefore, Christian joy springs up from the valley of tears, and rather, we experience gratitude and praise bursting out of an environment of worry and anxiety. We often see people who were wandering in the dead-end valley of life regaining strength and praising the Lord in front of many people. Therefore, there is satisfaction of the soul only on the road with the Lord.

Now, we must finally look back on the path of my life I have walked so far. I hope that you will reflect on how many moments you have lived without the Lord in the journey of your life so far, and from now on, all the saints who will walk with the Lord who is the way for you in the rest of your life. No matter how splendid life's moments are, if it's not the path we walked with the Lord, they'll all fly away like a swordfish with time.

That is why the Lord still tells us, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me." I sincerely hope that all the saints who walk the path of life together with the Lord who is the way will be./End.
