Title: Jesus Who Saved the World
Contents
The text is from John 3:16-21
Today is a truly significant day. March 1, 1919 This is the 90th anniversary of the nation's independence, the ancestors shouting for national independence and protesting in front of the Japanese imperial sword. In particular, Korean Christianity is more meaningful because it has a deep relationship with verse 3.1. What kind of deep relationship do you have?
First, the epicenter of the March 1st Movement was the church. It is truly a religious and great achievement that the Church took the lead in the independence of the country and carried all the crosses. I am proud of the fact that it was Korean Christianity that washed away the tears of this people who lost their sovereignty and were hurting in their hearts.
Second, the church leaders took the lead in the 3.1 Movement. Of the 33 people who signed the Declaration of Independence, 16 were Christians, 15 were Chondoists, 2 were Buddhists, and none were Catholics. At that time, the population of Korea was 16 million, the number of Christians was 200,000, and the proportion of the population was 1.3%, but it is surprising that there were many Christians among the national leaders. It's something to be proud of. Among them, Martyr Kim Gu, Martyr Lee Jun, Sensei Nam Gung Eok, President Syngman Rhee, and Martyr Yu Gwan-sun were Methodists. Methodism is the best denomination among Christians.
Who is Jesus Christ, who went the way beyond human thought to save the whole world?
We Christians need to know this clearly and believe it. Jesus Christ is
First, he is the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16, Matthew 27:54). He is the only begotten child of God from the bosom of God. Jesus alone is the only begotten God in the bosom of God the Father. (John 1:18) Only Jesus is without sin. (Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22) Therefore, only Jesus can forgive sins and forgive sins. (Matthew 9:2; 9:6, John 14:6, Matthew 1:21) You can find records in the Bible that Jesus asked his disciples about himself. (Matthew 16:13- 20) While traveling in the Philippi region of Caesar, I asked Jesus again, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” “John the Baptist, Elijah, and Jeremiah are one of the prophets” “People say so, but who do you think I am?” At that time, Peter replies, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” and he receives praise from Jesus. However, when Peter confessed that Jesus was “the Son of God,” he confessed, “You are the only God.”
Second, He is the Savior. In the confession, “You are the Christ,” Christ refers to the “Messiah,” that is, the anointed, the Savior whom the people of Israel eagerly await. In John 1:29, John the Baptist also testified that Jesus was “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” Just as a sheep is sacrificed as a sacrifice to the gods for its master, Jesus testified by comparing it to a lamb that takes the place of the sins of all mankind. Only Jesus is the Savior and Savior of the world (Acts 4:12). John 3:17 “That the world might be saved through him.” )”
In verse 3.1, we Christians who believe in Jesus Christ must have clear love for the country. To dream of a great missionary nation that embraces all nations of the world with the gospel, so that it becomes the vision of all of us, so that more people can be saved through Jesus Christ instead of contention, conflict, hatred, and war, so that they can enjoy spiritual freedom I bless you in the name of the Lord.
