Title: Jesus worked hard

The process of the public life of Jesus Christ (4)

(Jesus worked hard)

Text/ Mark 3:20/6:30-31

1. Introduction

On the occasion of Lent, as the process of Jesus' public life unfolded, Jesus made clear the purpose of his life (God's work of salvation). That Jesus had thoroughly prepared for the purpose (40-day wilderness fasting and prayer). Jesus meditated on calling people to help (choice of disciples). Today, I would like to share grace while meditating on how Jesus worked.

2. How did God work?

Our living God is always a working God. Jesus also said, <My father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working John 5:17>. But when our God works, with what attitude and with what heart does he work? The Bible expresses God's work in a very moving way.

*The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this (Isaiah 9:7, 37:32, 59:17, 63:15).

*Be zealous for my holy name... (Ezekiel 39:25).

*The zeal of the Lord will accomplish this (2 Kings 19:31).

When God works, it is said that he works with the zeal of the Lord. According to Webster's dictionary, zeal = eagerness and ardent interest in pursuit of something. Pursuing something with earnest longing and burning interest.> God works with the heart and attitude of <zealous>.

3. How did Jesus work?

As revealed in Luke 4:16-21, Jesus did the work of salvation by preaching the gospel to the poor, healing the sick, freedom for the oppressed, and proclaiming the grace of God. Wherever we open the 4 Gospels, we can easily find the heart and attitude of Jesus in doing this. In particular, the Gospel of Mark leaves unintentional, not intentional records. Rather, we can fully understand Jesus' attitude toward work and the atmosphere of the field through these unintentional records. Jesus literally worked with <zeal>.

*When he entered the house, there was no time to eat because the crowd had gathered again (Mark 3:20).

*There are so many people coming and going that they do not even have time to eat (Mark 6:30-31).

4. A person <work> is the foundation of being a person

<I think. Therefore, the proposition "I exist" is "I work. Therefore, it would not be too much of a problem to change it to the proposition of >. Because man is a thinking being and a working being at the same time. No matter how good an idea is, if it is not realized through work, it is just a fantasy. Therefore, in the old days, people who played and ate in vain without their work were called 不汗黨, 乾達, and 白手.

There are two things at work. Work with meaning and sense of duty, work that one does not want to do but has to do to make a living. Man is a being who realizes himself through work. <Doing something that is impossible to do> slowly leads to death. <Working with meaning and joy> gives life to people. Therefore, is the criterion for choosing a job <work>, not money or honor? Is it <labour>? is.

No one can live without work. He told me to go to the vineyard and work. Those who do not want to work should not eat. Work is the foundation of being human.

5. Then how will it work?

God worked with <zealous>. Jesus also worked with “zealous zeal without even having time to eat”. We are well aware that all the great people in this world worked with zeal. So, what does this “work hard” mean?

first. Working hard means working with a burning sense of mission. I do not see what I am doing now as simply my personal choice, but I know and work as a calling of God to work for this time, this place, and these people. There is nothing more important than realizing the mission of my existence.

second. To work hard means to work with a keen interest. In every field in this world, there are simple craftsmen and the best experts in their field. What is the difference between a craftsman and an expert?. For example, a person who makes and bakes pottery over and over again is a craftsman no matter how well the pottery is made. However, it is the expert who studies, develops, and experiments with a deep interest in everything that has to do with ceramics.

third. To work hard means to keep working until the day you die. Today, there are over 20,000 jobs. None of them are worth seeing. There are bound to be difficult passages in everything. It is about overcoming all obstacles and difficulties and working tirelessly to the end.
