Title: Jewish Ideology of Home Education
4 Hear, O Israel, there is only one Jehovah our God; 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. You will teach and preach these words when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. 8 You shall also tie it to your wrist as a sign, and put it on your forehead as a mark, 9 and on the doorposts of your house and on your outer door. write it in
1. Words that begin
The Jews, who were invaded by foreigners countless times, were enslaved by foreigners for many years, and were recently slaughtered by the Nazis by the Nazis, and hated and persecuted by many countries, the Jews, miraculously rebuilt the country and We are developing. Its important driving force is the belief in monotheism and home education based on that belief. Their basic confession of faith and their educational ideology are the words we read. This shema has been used as a daily prayer by the Jews.
On this Children's Sunday, through these words, I hope that our families and children will be equipped with what they deserve.
2. Faith in One God
As the Jews were being dragged into a place full of poisonous gas, Shema, who muttered, begins with, “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is only one Jehovah.”
All the lives of the Jews stemmed from their belief in one God. Their monotheistic belief is a wonderful realization and a truly admirable belief in view of the religious forms of many peoples and nations around ancient Israel. At that time, Baal in Canaan, Amon-Rega in Egypt, and Malduk in Babylon were worshiped as chief among the gods.
However, the Israelites met the one true God, Jehovah God, and realized that only that God created all things, including humans, and is in control of human life, death, and happiness, and provides the providence of all things. At the same time, it was learned that all those called gods were in vain, and that all people, all nations, who believed in gods other than those gods would eventually perish.
The Jews had the conviction that the one and only God, who is in control of human life and death and providence over all things, made them his chosen people. Therefore, he was not afraid of failure, he did not despair even in desperate situations, he did not fear death in the midst of sickness, he did not yield in the midst of persecution and tribulation. They knew and believed that the love of God, which exists from eternity, cannot be broken even by death.
Please, everyone, believe that the one God will never disappoint those who trust and rely on him.
3. Basic Human Duties
The Jews accepted the saying, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength,” as a natural and basic duty to the one God. In fact, this commandment is a basic duty to be observed by all.
In the Old Testament, the heart means the seat of the mind, will, and emotion, and the character or soul means the basis of life or vitality. First of all, we who have received the love of the one and only God, we must love Jehovah our God with all of our heart, soul, and strength. We must do all we can to serve our God. That God is not something we can love and serve with a part of us. Everyone, please believe that that God is the Creator, the absolute, the provider, and the source of all things.
If you have to love God with all you do, you may think that it is impossible to love other people, such as family, neighbors, country, or work. However, no problem at all. Love for all things, including humans, must be a part of God's love. In other words, because we love God, we must love the spouse whom God has given us; because we love God, we must love the children God has given us; and because we love God, we must love other human beings created by God. , it means that because we love God, we have no choice but to love the nature that God created.
May all of your love be the way to truly love God with all your heart, soul, and strength.
4. Desirable home education
We must keep these words of God commanding us deeply in our hearts, and first of all, we must teach them to our children, the precious lives that God has entrusted to us.
God has commanded, “Teach your children diligently, and they shall preach these words when they sit at home and when they walk on the road, when they lie down and when they get up.” It is to always be conscious of the education of your children and to open your mouth whenever you have the opportunity to teach the one and only God and the Word. Let your mindset, your structure of consciousness, your way of thinking, and your actions all be the Word of God. To borrow Paul’s words, it means that what children live is not what children live, but let Christ live in them. So, let your children live a life where they can do all things through the one who gives them strength.
In order for children to lead a powerful life that receives God's grace and blessings, they must not only have the lips of their parents, but they must not only speak the word themselves, but also write it on the doorposts and outside doors of the house. In a word, in order to raise children according to God's will, the atmosphere in the family must be fully embodied.
The results of the Jews who were brought up in such an atmosphere and received a basic religious education are truly remarkable.
According to a book I read a few years ago, one-third of the Nobel Prize winners are Jews, and 6.5 million Jews, or only 3.2!% of the US population, are the second most despised after blacks, and have a tremendous influence on the economy, media, politics, and education of the United States. there is said to be. For example, 30!% of professors at prestigious universities in the United States are Jewish, and the financial world is dominated by Jews. It is a miracle that the country was rebuilt after wandering and persecuting without a country for nearly 2,000 years, and it is a miracle that the Jewish nation of 2.9 million people won wars with over 100 million Arabs over and over again.
Teaching your children the word of God, the younger they are, the better. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” However, even if you have not been able to do so, you must believe in the power of God and be patient even now and nurture them through prayer and the Word.
5. Conclusion
We earnestly pray that all of our families will glorify God from generation to generation through the education of the one and only Word of God and bring the good and virtue of the gospel to many people.
