Sermons for Preaching

Title: Jewish Sorrow

"All the people answered and said,

Let its blood be on us and on our descendants..."

A long time ago... A movie called 'Schindler's List' was shown in Korea.

The film tells the story of Hitler's great power in Germany during World War II.

'Poison Caesar' is a movie depicting the horrors of setting up a warehouse and executing the Jews.

At that time, the Nazi government remained in Germany until the end of the war.

Six million Jews were all naked, men and women, young and old.

It was 'disguised, into the bathroom,' and slaughtered them all by spraying poison sesame inside.

Even now, if you look at the documentary film of that time, many Jews were terrified.

You can vividly see them being dragged away by Nazi soldiers with tired faces.

In today's text, the Jews came to Pilate's court

They are calling out to the governor to crucify Jesus and kill him.

Pilate said to the shouting crowd, then this man's blood...

When asked to bear it, they boldly said to put the curse of blood on them and their descendants.

So they sacrificed Jesus by nailing him to the cross according to their own will.

“Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? The righteous is coming.

They killed those who foretold, and now you are the scapegoats and murderers of the righteous." {Acts 7:52}

After the fall of Rome, which ruled Israel, the Jews

It has become a 'diaspora,' wandering around the world.

Then they handed Jesus over to Pilate, and their ancestors 'according to the curse they had inflicted...'

Many descendants of Jews living in Germany

In return, Hitler deprived Hitler of all his possessions, and he was 'horrible and tortured' and killed.

Looking at this situation, we think about how much evil a person can truly become.

Jews believe that God is among the many nations of the world.

They are 'chosen by distinction,' how can they be so evil...

The answer to this problem is that they do not know God.

If a person does not know God, there is no way to control his own evil.

So even before Jesus died on the cross,

As if praying to God.. They said that they did not know 'their sins.'

People can be changed as much as they know God.

It is because the more you know God, the more you will see your own shortcomings.

Then, how can we know God more deeply?

There is no other way except to read the Bible with the 'miner's heart'.

"Like seeking silver... as searching for a hidden treasure in search of it.

If you seek it, you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will know God.” {Proverbs 2:4-5}

The reason the Jews killed Jesus was because they did not know the Bible.

Several Old Testament prophets were 'Jesus Christ' as the Messiah.

It was prophesied that He would come to this earth, but they did not realize it.

The cause is that they read the Bible for their own benefit,

Because the Bible has been read and is a sealed book for those who have 'selfish ends'.

The Holy Spirit... to those who have a pure and clear purpose for reading the Bible

It is to give them grace and to 'give light to their souls' so that they can understand the Word.

"When the word of the Lord is opened, light shines in to understand the foolish." {Psalm 119:130}

The stiff-necked people, Israel, receive all the glory and blessings of God.

It was lost and began to perish from the time of Solomon.. In the recent times,

Now, it was difficult to establish a country in a small place the size of the small Gangwon-do in Korea and achieve independence.

'The history of Israel,' is a sad story of being abandoned by God.

Because of their hard spirits, they even lived in the wilderness for forty years.

Every day, he saw 'miracles and wonders,' but he did not realize God's grace.

The lesson of the sufferings of the Jews today is a time to be thankful.

It is because of the foolishness and pride that do not give thanks and do not know that a blessing is a blessing.

The greatest blessing of faith is first realizing the grace I have received.

Everyone.. I wish you a blessed life that always glorifies God through the sacrifice of thanks.
