Title: John's Vision of Jesus (3)
Revelation (11) John's vision of Jesus (3)
(Rev 1:13-16)
5. Jesus with his feet shining like tin
The figure of Jesus with his feet like shiny tin forged in a furnace symbolizes Jesus as a righteous judge. It means that God is in control of history. God destroys man's plans and ridicules man's boasting. Why does God intervene in history? To save souls groaning injustice and oppressed by violence and to answer their prayers. God is not a bystander. So, if you use your power for good, you will be blessed, and if you abuse your power, you will be judged.
Why can saints dream of a righteous world? Because God is a righteous judge. However, since there is no perfect righteous person in this world, if God judges righteously, there is no one left in this world. So there is always something to remember. It is the fact that “God’s grace is always greater than God’s judgment for the saints!”
"favor!" It always reminds me of Jacob. If we look at Jacob's life, he is not very fit for God's grace. We always live for our own greed, and when an emergency arises, we seek God according to our own needs, very similar to ours. But God gave Jacob the great blessing of becoming the father of Israel. That is God's grace.
God's grace is one-sided and unconditional. So now we are in the place of our present faith. Also, God's grace is perfect. God never gives up halfway through whom He has determined to bestow His grace. As such, God's grace is perfect from beginning to end. We live in that grace.
Some people get caught up in fear when only talking about eschatology. Because they only think about the referee. But eschatology is not a scary theory, it is the most blessed and glorious truth. Although the book of Revelation also describes a terrible judgment, in the end it ends with the story of the splendid millennial kingdom, the new heavens and the new earth. Therefore, we must have a humble heart in the face of God's judgment, but always have bold faith and hope to see God's grace as greater than judgment.
6. Jesus is like the sound of many waters
What is more important than knowing what the voice of God is is to live while recognizing the importance of the voice of God. Happiness and blessings come when we live according to the voice of God. “What will happen to me?” What is more important is the attitude to go where the Word of God is. Then you will experience the history of reversal and the grace of recovery in the present situation. Then sorrow will become joy, curses become blessings, poverty becomes wealth.
The blessing and happiness of the sheep depend on hearing the voice of the shepherd. The problem is that there is not only the voice of God, but also the voice of the devil. How do you discern that voice? The Holy Spirit will help you discern. But first you have to let go of greed. Humans generally have one big weakness. It is to look at other people's bread in a big way. How often do you get unhappy because of that weakness, leaving you unsatisfied? We must not fall into the error of thinking that success is more important than our soul by being drawn to the myth of success.
Don't be fooled by success seminars. Always have a brilliant dream of becoming a character and a holy grandson, but do not aim for the jackpot with worldly greed. “Who made money by doing what? How did someone say it was successful?” and try to hear the voice of God even a little bit less. If you hear the voice of “Who said you succeeded!” and live after others in a hurry, misery usually comes. When you hear the voice of “Thank you for everything!” and keep your place, you will find happiness if you live hard in your talents and reality.
The most important factor in determining happiness in life is following the voice of God. A truly blessed life unfolds when you give thanks to God for your family, your situation, your circumstances, and your things and follow God's voice. Do not be deceived by the sounds of worldly temptations. Successful people are usually those who hear and follow one central voice. The best of those central sounds is the Word of God.
