Title: John 11:5 - Jesus Loved

Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus.

Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

1. What God is doing

God, through His love, wanted to save this sinful world.

Without God's love, Adam and Eve would have died on the spot rather than driven out of the Garden of Eden. God has already said that those who disobey His Word will surely die. But he didn't say anything about that time. Even so, if it were not for God's love, he would have caused people to die on the spot. And either he created man again, or he left the world without man. In fact, even in a world without people, God can be glorified in Himself. The closer you get to a place where there are few human traces, the better you can see the beauty of the natural world full of the glory of God. But God loved people. He loved you, but he didn't just love him roughly, he loved him so much that he became jealous. That is why, even though He was cast out from the Garden of Eden, He gave us the opportunity to realize the love of God.

God showed His love through His Son Jesus.

Jesus said that those who do not have the Son do not have the Father. In the end, if you don't realize the love of the son, you can't understand the love of the father either. If you claim that you can understand the Father's love even without the Son, Jesus, you are making God a liar. Those who talk about God's love without realizing the love that Jesus, the Son of God, was crucified for human sins, lack even a basic understanding of love. Love certainly comes from God. The love that started from God made it come through the Son. Therefore, he who does not have a son does not have a father, so he who does not understand the love of the Son will never understand the love of the Father. A person who speaks of a father's love without realizing his son's love is a person who relies on guesswork or emotion, or expresses the kindness of nature with love.

When Jesus showed the Father's love, He revealed it through sin.

When Jesus showed that love, he showed it with a love that gave even his life.

That's why Jesus said that there is no greater love than this if you lay down your life for your friends. In doing so, he turned to Lazarus and called him his friend. Presumably, Lazarus was someone who had already realized the love of Jesus and was ready to lay down his life for Jesus. As long as he did not betray the love of Jesus midway, he was ready to lose his life for Jesus, so Jesus even called him a friend. John the Baptist also described his relationship with Jesus as a friend of the bridegroom. The bridegroom and his friends who stand and hear the bridegroom's voice rejoice greatly, and I said that this joy is full of them. Also, John the Baptist said about Jesus that I must increase and I must decrease. You can never make this confession unless you are always ready to lose your life for your friend.

Jesus showed that love in a variety of ways.

Jesus showed his love even before you were crucified. He made it possible for us to realize the love of the cross as much as we want, even if we do not go to the love of the cross. By becoming friends with tax collectors and sinners, He made it possible to realize that love. However, not all tax collectors and all sinners in Jesus' day realized the love of Jesus. Only those who came to Jesus, confessed their sins, were baptized with water, and were ready to be born again with the Holy Spirit could understand the love of Jesus. And he healed all the sick and the weak so that we could understand the love of Jesus. Not only that, He cast out demons to those who were possessed by demons so that they could understand His love. Even so, in order for that love to be not only lasting, but also to show up as a greater love, you must be attached to Jesus. The word of Jesus must be able to dwell in it. Only then can you not only realize that love continuously, but also lead to greater love.

(1) Jesus originally loved

Jesus loved people from the beginning.

Jesus loved people, but He loved them from the beginning. For Jesus, the former refers to the beginning of time. Jesus was from the beginning. This beginning is a beginning long before the beginning of the world when it was created. It is a beginning that no one can imagine. However, since it cannot be expressed in human language, it was called the beginning together. Jesus loved people from the beginning, when he created the world, but people did not realize that fact. Since Jesus was the Word from the beginning, He was also the Word in the Garden of Eden. When God told people to rule and keep them, Jesus was the one who spoke the word. Nevertheless, people did not abide in that love because they loved Jesus who was the word, but instead were deceived by the words of the most crafty man. Even so, Jesus did not withdraw his love.

Jesus was and is still showing His love.

Jesus did not take away His love even though this world corrupted and secularized that love in the beginning in various ways, and even caused people to suffer. Jesus loves people now with the same love he loved people before. The only reason people still don't realize that love is because they are so drunk with the love of this world. Because the happiness of the world is overshadowed by the happiness that God gives. True happiness is David's happiness, but it is because iniquity is not forgiven. Because even that sin is not covered. Man's works are full of iniquity and sin. Otherwise, there is no one in the world. That is why all men are false, but only God is true. Jesus continues to show God's true love even now to make us realize His true love.

(2) Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

Jesus loves everyone in this world.

There is no one who is not included in the love of Jesus. It is not because Jesus loves everyone in this world, everyone who comes and goes. Because everyone who comes and goes in this world is a sinner and is false and untrue. It is because if we do not love such people, we will have no choice but to distance ourselves from the true God. Because we have no choice but to go into the eternal fire of hell. That is why Jesus loves people, but He also loves everyone in the world. Even so, there are only a few people who realize that love. Realizing that love, there are only a few people who love more than these people.

Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus as well.

Jesus not only loved everyone in the world, but also loved Martha. Martha, like Peter in her family, was agile in movement. Martha was quicker than anyone to respond and agile when serving Jesus or going out to meet Jesus. Sometimes she even heard that one thing was enough from Jesus, but even so, Martha realized that love. Jesus loved Mary too. As the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and washed His feet with her hair, Mary had already experienced the great love of Jesus. The same goes for Lazarus. Although Lazarus was already ill, regardless of his illness, he became the loved one of Jesus and, on the contrary, reserved the glory of God because of his illness.

2. The heart of God

Jesus wants you to be loved

God wants His people to be loved by Jesus.

God sent His Son, Jesus, into this world to help us understand His love. And Jesus loves you from before, now and ever. However, in order to realize that love, you must first know that man is a limited and temporary existence. You must know that no matter how much Jesus loves you, you cannot live in grace without realizing your sin. However, sin cannot be added to increase grace. Knowing that man is a temporary being, he has to constantly abide in that love throughout the days of this world, and in order to realize the greater love, he wants to become a person who loves Jesus more than these people.

Romans 13:8 ?o not owe anyone except to love one another, for he who loves others has fulfilled the law.??

God wants us to owe no one anything except the debt of love.

God wants His people to only be in debt of love. He wants you to bear only the debt of love, but to each other. He wants the debt of love to cross each other with each other's burden, not just one person losing one-sidedly. To do that, Jesus has already set the example of love. If you have realized the love of Jesus, you want to be a person who diligently pays off the debt of love in order to repay that love. That is why He wants to become a person who fulfills the law by loving others. He wants us to become those who fulfill all the requirements of the law by walking according to the Spirit.

3. Who God is

You are the one who realizes the love of Jesus

God is the One who makes us realize His love through His Son Jesus.

He is the one who realizes that love and fulfills all the requirements of the law by carrying only the debt of mutual love.

4. Traces of Jesus (Confession and Sharing)

(1) The blood of Jesus - What we did not continuously realize the love of Jesus

(2) The life of Jesus - The decision to pay off the debt of love by continuously realizing the love of Jesus

5. Prayer

Even though Jesus loved

I can't keep realizing that love

More of hate than love

forgive me

Help me to become a person who continuously realizes that love.

Let me be the one who can only erase the debt of that love

Let me be the one who erases as much as I have received.

Help me to fulfill all the requirements of the law.
