Title: John 13:31-38 / New Commandment

Contents

John 11:31-38 / “I give you a new commandment, love one another!”

* Jesus, with the way of the cross at the forefront, / told his disciples that his path was the path of glory

& I'm with you like this now / but after a while I'm leaving for a place you can't follow

& “Now you love each other! Love one another as I have loved you!”

& says

* Through today's text, "What kind of person Jesus is... What are the lessons he gives me..."

& Let's think about it.

* As our proverb says, “When a tiger dies, he leaves his skin / When a man dies, he leaves his name” /

& I believe / in fact, people don't leave names / when they die. Person!!

* In this world, the truly successful / are those who live and love people.

- A man who made a lot of money, / not a man of high power // by loving people.

& “A person who truly loves life / has a co-worker who can share everything!” /

& “People with crowns left behind through me” // These are the true successors.

* In that sense, / our Lord / really lived a “successful life.”

Verse 33!

* Our Lord's greatest concern is “people”.

- So, Jesus loved his disciples very much.

- The disciples had many “weak points” / even though they knew they would “betray themselves”

& knowing that he would run away, denying him three times // loved him to the end.

* In the text you just read / what did Jesus call his disciples?

& “Little ones!” - “Little children”

- If you read this in the original text, "My children!" / “My children!”

* And what do you say?

- “My children! / I'm with you now, / but in a little while, I'll go where you've been looking and can't find it! / So a must for you! I have something to say"

- Also, in verses 34-35, are you referring to the “new commandment”?

* Previously, I saw a young mother who died of cancer first in a documentary on t.v.

- The young mother / leaving her beloved little son to her father / as she passed away...

& caring for his son / saw him cry tears of great pain.

- Rather than his own pain and suffering suffering from cancer / Seeing his son left behind... His heart aches!!

* This is the heart of our Jesus in today's text.

- Because I loved you so much / (More than the pain you will suffer after a while) /

& (My children! calling) / Seeing the disciples left behind, he felt even more heartbroken.

** While meditating today / I have to show “the heart of the Lord and the love of the Lord”.

<Application> Every time I meditate on “the heart of Jesus’ love” / Because I see no such love at all in me

& I feel infinitely ashamed. <Sometimes I want to run away>

- So, I pray today.

& "Lord! I have no love. I'm always ashamed when it comes to love. Lord give me love”

2. What was the message that Jesus, who was in pain to love, / to the remaining disciples / left as a will?

Verses 34-35

* “I give you a new commandment / You love one another!! / Love one another as I have loved you!”

- Everyone! Are you living in obedience to these words?

** We love one another, but how should we love each other?

- “Love one another as Jesus loved us!” I am speaking.

<Today's meditation point - to meditate all day...>

1) Jesus loved his disciples / without self-interest.

* Jesus loved his disciples / but he didn't expect anything from them or that he loved them.

- We, too, / love each other... //

& “What can this person do for me? / What does it benefit me?”

& you shouldn't ask this.

- Rather, “What can I do for this person? / What can I give you?”

& you have to ask.

2) Second, Jesus loved his disciples / with great trust.

* Even though Jesus knew all too well that the disciples had many weaknesses and weaknesses...

& Do you trust them? / Trust me.

<Our Korean baseball made it to the WBC finals / Manager Kim In-sik's baseball is usually called - [Baseball of Faith]. / It is strange to see players released from other teams enter a new heyday when Hanwha arrives again - because the coach believes in the player's abilities, waits for him, and gives encouragement and praise...>

- We too must love ourselves / with trust.

- Do not doubt my co-worker. /

- Even if it is, trust me / trust me until the end.

<I don't know anything else / I'm pretty good at this. - Everyone around gives me the source for that person. They're all negative sources. / They tell you to be careful. // However, once I become my co-worker, I believe in myself no matter what. You trust the words of the person around you more than the words of the people around you. Trust me... / Trust me even if I lack ability. The hat part was done because I thought I had to cover it. = “Everyone! that person! Please believe me!!”>

3. Jesus loved his disciples / but he loved them “with compassion.”

* To be compassionate = to share the heart.

- Jesus loved his disciples / but he always loved them with the same feelings and heart.

** When the disciples grieved, Jesus grieved with them, and when they rejoiced, he rejoiced with them.

<It's empathy, but? / = You are very empathetic>

- We love each other a little bit, but please show empathy.

<You have to live a life that is more overbearing than usual.>

4. Jesus loved his disciples / but he loved them with patience.

- How ignorant / were the disciples weak in their faith?

- The disciples' ignorance and unbelief / must have made our Lord's heart very sad.

** But / Jesus spoke again and again, / until they realized the truth.

& I say it over and over again. / You've been waiting, and you've been patient.

- We too must love each other / with patience.

- You must not give up easily / be easily determined / and draw a line easily.

3. Verses 37-38

- Jesus said, "Soon I will go to a place that you cannot follow."

- Peter asks? - "Where are you going, Jesus?

- "You can't follow me now / but you will follow me next time"

- “No, what do you mean? / I can give my life for you.”

& “I will give my life / to follow and obey”

- "no. You will deny me three times before the rooster crows.”

* Many people / as they meditate on these words... // “Don’t be too sure!”

& “My motivation should not take precedence” so apply / and testify of the Word.

* By the way, as I meditated on these words / today, God made me meditate from a different angle

- Although Peter / did not live as he said and failed

& I am envious of your passion to follow and serve the Lord with your life.

- Peter / “Jesus! I will give my life to follow you.”

& Jesus said, “You pathetic bastard! / You're the one who will deny me three times in a minute! / You pathetic bastard!”

& Did you hear those words with that in mind? will do.

** In my view / although the Lord knew that Peter would deny him three times because of his weakness.

& “Lord, I will risk my life to follow you.” At that time, / I think my heart was very happy.

- When I was going to pioneer / young leaders came to me and said they would follow me.

<Sang-eun, Seong-eun, and Ok Seon-in are not the then leaders, but the next middle leaders.>

** So, I dried it.

- “What I’ve poured out so far / If you guys follow me… everything will be ruined.”

- By the way, / although I didn't follow you, / you don't know how grateful I was to say that.

- Although Peter was weak now / and fell and failed...

& but as his confession / eventually God through the process of training...

& You risked your life to make you a leader, right?

<Application> Do I have the same passion and confession as Peter today?
