Title: John 13:4 - Rise up

Contents

He got up from where he ate dinner, took off his coat, took a towel, and put it around his waist.

so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.

1. What God is doing

God made it happen.

God made me stand up.

God made me get up from where I used to eat.

Not so many times during Jesus' time on earth that he was at ease. He even dealt with so many people that he didn't even have time to eat. Sometimes he dealt with many sick people, and at other times he cast out many demon-possessed people. At times, he had no choice but to speak repeatedly about the kingdom of God and its righteousness to millions of people, even as he satiates their hunger. Jesus did not worry about what you would first eat or drink for your life or what you would put on for your body. For Jesus, the priority has always been the kingdom of God and His righteousness. That is why he made them see even the birds of the air, and even the lilies that bloom in the field. People still want to reproduce the glory that Solomon wore by offering a thousand burnt offerings like Solomon, but God made it known that the glory that Solomon wore was the lily in the field. Jesus is superior to Solomon. Jesus was called my Lord even by David. Even so, Jesus had to get up from where he ate, let alone the enemies who wanted to receive Solomon's glory.

God made him rise from the place he ate dinner.

For Jesus, this evening was the last supper with his disciples. This supper was a monumental supper that could neither be given nor performed again. Jesus could not forget this supper because even at this supper, the devil had already put the thought of selling Jesus into the heart of Simon's son Judas Iscariot. The devil followed Jesus throughout His public life. If Jesus had not been led by the Holy Spirit throughout his public life or had not been faithful to the words of the one who sent him, he was constantly tempted, deceived, and difficult to the extent that he fell through countless trials. Moreover, he tried to have dinner comfortably, even one last time, but most of all, Jesus' food was to do God's will and fulfill the work of the one who sent him, so he had no choice but to get up from the dinner table.

(1) Get up from where you ate dinner and take off your coat

God made you naked.

What God made Jesus naked is a cumbersome thing to do God's will. In fact, Jesus had to be crucified without wearing anything on the cross. He had to be crucified with severe ridicule and contempt. Considering that you will be stripped off by the soldiers later, this amount of nakedness belongs to nothing. In order to do God's will and complete his work, he had to put off the ceremonial and cumbersome things to show the perfect example of service.

God made us take off our outer garments.

Jesus has already said that if you ask for your underwear, give them your robe. If Jesus had maximized your powers, he would have wrapped you in a soft garment that would be worn in a royal palace. If Jesus had received from God whenever he used the authority in heaven and on earth, he would have been richer than anyone else if he had received it for free. Since it was an ability that no one else could do, he would have been able to receive more money than the proper price. So, by the time you put on soft clothes and went out into the wilderness, you might have been able to memorize a poem while watching the reeds swaying. However, Jesus' outer garment was a very ordinary outer garment, and even this was a garment that he had to take off at any time to complete his work.

(2) Get up from your dinner table, take a towel, and wrap it around your waist.

God also made us have towels.

God made Jesus even have a towel to wipe his disciples with the towel. A woman who had sinned from that town came to Jesus, brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and stood behind Jesus at his feet, weeping, wept, wet his feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair, kissed his feet, and poured perfume on them. However, even this was not properly served because of the bad heart of the Pharisee who had asked Jesus. On the contrary, the time had come when Jesus had to serve them, so he even had a towel.

God made the towel he had to wear around his waist.

He could be Elijah, whom John the Baptist would say come, and he was better than the prophets, and he could be the greatest among women born, because he was dressed in camel hair, and had a leather belt around his waist, and ate only with locusts and locusts. If John the Baptist had not done this, he would not have been able to cry out to the Pharisees and Sadducees, who were in power at that time, to bear fruit worthy of repentance, you brood of vipers, who said to you, Flee the wrath to come? Jesus wrapped a towel around his waist to set an example of service to his disciples. From now on, the disciples should become those who wear the belt of truth in place of the leather belt of John the Baptist and the veil of Jesus.

2. The heart of God

When you make it rise, you want it to rise

God makes me wake up even during dinner.

God wants His people to be foodies, doing His will and completing His work like Jesus did. Because if you don't, you won't be able to get up from your seat when God makes you stand up. It's because like Peter, he just wants to sit down, saying it's nice to be here. Moreover, if you sit in a good or envy seat, you will not be able to get up from that seat, so you want to practice getting up a lot. He wants to get up anytime and anywhere to serve. He wants you to rise up from the spot without any regrets, not just to serve the great, but to serve the little ones.

Ephesians 5:14 ?herefore he says, Awake, you who sleep, and rise from the dead, for Christ will give light to you.??

God tells us to rise from the dead.

God does not want His people to remain dormant any longer. Brothers of faith want you to know well that it is time to wake up from sleep. Because we are closer than the beginning of our salvation. Even so, if you are still sleeping, He wants you to wake up from now on and become one from the dead. Christ shines His light upon each of His people. Jesus shines his light so that we can live as children by the light. Because he shone on it with the true light and great light, he made it possible to live in this world as a child of light as much as possible by simply reflecting that light with the mirror of truth.

3. Who God is

You are the one who wakes up

God is the One who gets His people to rise from their supper like Jesus did. He is the One who rises up and gives light.

4. Traces of Jesus (Confession and Sharing)

(1) The blood of Jesus - something that was not yet going to happen

(2) The life of Jesus - what we decided to happen from now on

5. Prayer

Even if you made me get up from dinner

No one touches the eater

I was just trying to sleep and eat comfortably

forgive me

Make me wake up from dinner

May I rise from a better supper

Rise up and be a shed light

Rise up and set an example of service.
