John 14:15-21 Whoever loves me... Topic: 18. Revelation. 2006. 11. 5.

Introduction

: The greatest help the believer will receive is the presence of God Himself in the person of the Holy Spirit.

reveals this

Regarding the Holy Spirit ①The identity of the Holy Spirit (John 14:15~26)

②The work of the Holy Spirit (John 16:7~15)

③ Look at the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1~17).

In this text, the Holy Spirit is revealed, revealing the identity of the Holy Spirit and who He is.

1. Revelation of the Holy Spirit (15-17)

2. The Personal Presence of Christ (18-20)

3. Conclusion (I will love those who keep the commandments) (21)

1. Revelation of the Holy Spirit (15-17)

It is revealed that the Counselor will be given the Holy Spirit.

One). If you love Jesus, you will keep His commandments.

① Obedience is not optional for believers. No choice.

The believer just wants to love Jesus with all his heart and believes that he is the Son of God.

② You must understand exactly what it means to love Jesus.

Loving Jesus is not a simple emotional (feeling) thing. ② Neither is it a rational or spiritual commitment. ③ It is a matter of mind and spirit.

To love Jesus means to love God and to be loved by God in one's heart, emotions, and will.

It means to focus (devotion) to God. It means that a person gives his feelings and will (devotion), his whole being and all that he has to Jesus Christ.

Loving Jesus means

① Meaning of accepting Jesus

② What it means to follow Jesus

③ The meaning of sacrificing one's whole being and all that one has to the Lord

④ It means delegating one's whole being and all that one has to the cause of Jesus.

(Matthew 22:37-40, John 13:33-35, 21:15-17, 15>10, 14, 1 John 2:3)

2). The Holy Spirit is the Comforter (another helper).

① The Holy Spirit is the Comforter (John 14:16).

② Receiving the Holy Spirit is conditional: only those who love Jesus receive the Holy Spirit (Jesus the Mediator)

③ The source of the Holy Spirit is “Father”.

④ The Holy Spirit is with the believer forever.

The Comforter (παρ χλητο ”parakletos) means one who is called in, one who is called from another side.

The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to help in every way possible.

The Holy Spirit is ① the image of a friend who is called to help a person in trouble, discouragement, or embarrassment.

② The image of the commander called to help the discouraged and demoralized army

③ The appearance of a lawyer called to help the accused who needs to plead his position.

I can't put it into words in this way, but in a sense it's a helper.

3). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth

① The same Spirit as Jesus, who is the truth, is the truth. He is the embodiment, messenger, and liberator of truth.

② The world does not receive the Holy Spirit. “…can’t”

* The point is that unbelievers reject Jesus.

* They do not know neither the spiritual world nor the Holy Spirit. Because they neither know nor love Jesus, they do not know the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ.

③ Those who believe know the Holy Spirit. The believer knows the Holy Spirit by experience, by His presence.

* The Holy Spirit dwells “with” the believer. The Holy Spirit is “in” the believer.

(John 14:17, 16:7, Luke 12:12, Romans 8:9, 14, 16, Gal 4:6, 2 Tim 1:14, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16...)

2. The personal presence (indwelling) of Christ (18-20)

One). Jesus said, “I will come to you.”

Jesus said that He will come again to those who believe in the person of the Holy Spirit.

2). The world has lost its chance to see Jesus.

When the world sees again, He will come as the Judge.

3). The presence of Jesus is a living and eternal presence.

Jesus conquered death by resurrecting. If Christ lives forever and indwells those who believe, then those who believe will also live forever.

4). The presence of Christ is the living union, mutual indwelling, between God and Christ and the believer.

By the coming of the Holy Spirit “in”, believers came to dwell “in” the Spirit of Jesus, and the Spirit of Jesus “in” believers.

Christ in the believer

This is the first moment when the glorious truth of Christ in the believer is revealed to the disciples.

A full understanding of the indwelling Christ was revealed and explained by Paul.

(John 20:22, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19, Ephesians 3:6, Colossians 1:26-27, ....)

3. Conclusion (I will love those who keep the commandments) (21)

The Holy Spirit is Christ's very special manifestation of Himself in the believer.

This special manifestation depends on the need of the believer whether or not he can taste the depth of experience and intensity and emotion.

God

① To raise us up,

② To make us strong,

③ He is willing to do whatever is necessary to transform us into the likeness of Christ.

The special manifestation of the Lord's presence is only

① To those who believe in the commandments of Jesus,

② It is revealed to those who believe in keeping the commandments of Jesus.

Appearance ( ανερ ω : Fane Roo,  μ αν ζω Emp Hanijo)

: to reveal what is hidden; when used in the sense of revelation, it implies that something new has come to light.

The presence of Jesus is revealed (exposed by light), illuminated and manifested, and is brought to life in the believer's life.

it means. It refers to Jesus revealing himself to his disciples in a very special way.

Jesus thus reveals his person, nature, and goodness. Jesus Christ Himself in their hearts and lives

illuminate Jesus places a very special ordinance in their souls.

(John 14:21-22, Acts 2:1-4, John 7:38-39, 14:21-23, Acts 2:4, 4:31, 13:52, Ephesians 5:18)

The purpose of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer is

① Teaching everything.

② It is to help you remember.

(Luke 12:12, John 14:26, 16:13, 1 Corinthians 2:13, 1 John 2:27)

The Holy Spirit is the continuous presence of the Trinity. (16-17, 26) Thus the Trinity is in the believer.
