Title: John 6:7 - Philip's answer

Contents

Philip answered, "Two hundred denarii would not be enough for each one to eat a little."

Philip answered him, "Eight months' wages would not but enough bread for each one to have a bite!"

1. What God Does

God wants to hear people's answers. It was from the Garden of Eden that God wanted to hear people's answers. God wants to talk to someone who is made in His likeness, after His image. Actually, God called Adam in the Garden of Eden. He was called to talk to Adam. But Adam did not answer God's call. Adam did not answer God's call because he disobeyed God's command. The LORD God called Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" He said, "I heard the voice of God in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid myself." If we disobey God's commands, then and now, people will avoid the face of God. God's eyes see the righteous and his ears listen to the supplications of the righteous, but his face is on the wicked. Even the wicked know this. The more the wicked face God's face toward them, the more they turn away from God's face.

(1) Philip answered, Even if I let each one eat a little,

Philip's answer to Jesus' question was not an answer to temperance, but to frugality. Philip's answer was not just an answer in words, but an answer in calculation. This answer can be given even if you do not believe in Jesus. This is the answer that anyone can give, even if they worship idols, worship other gods, or have no faith at all. This is not the answer God wants. Even in a place where there is nothing, he expects only answers through the Word. Of course, Jesus already knew what Philip was going to do and asked him, but even so, a better answer had to come. The longer the years of believing in Jesus, the better the answer should come. I had to be able to answer that I can not only boast of the number of years I have believed, but that I can have abundance even with the Word.

(2) Philip answered, Two hundred denarii of bread are not enough.

In response to Jesus' question, Philip replied that two hundred denarii were not enough. That was also the least approximation. As a best approximation, it is not known whether it would be four hundred denarii or even more. This answer is also an answer that people in the world other than Philip can give as much as they want. If you estimate how much the large crowds coming to Jesus will be, multiply this by the amount of bread per person, and you can easily see that two hundred denarii of bread is not enough. But Jesus was not asking Philip to give him a minimum approximation. God has been counted down to every single hair. God's calculation can be calculated more accurately before Philip calculates. Jesus is also the One who can calculate accurately.

What Jesus wanted was not to make them know that two hundred denarii of bread was not enough, but to make them know that it is God who can give more bread at once. This is so that we can know who is capable of self-control through the work of the Holy Spirit in the riches that God gives us. Those who are still entrenched in economy and cry out for economy are those who do not realize the riches of God. These people are the ones who try to achieve something with their own perseverance and effort. However, those who want to be temperate in the abundance that God gives through the working of the Holy Spirit are those who know how to love God. I am the one who wants to love my neighbor as myself with that love. He is self-controlled to the point of being thorough, but he is able to give abundantly to others. God can give not two hundred denarii, but two thousand, not tens of thousands, or uncountable. In order to do that, you have to be someone who answers only with the word.

2. The heart of God

He doesn't want to answer like Philip.

God wants His people to answer like a centurion, not like Philip. He wants you to know the power of the word and to live a life full of abundance through it. He wants you to live a life of moderation, not just wasting it unconditionally with abundance. In order to become one who does not answer like Philip, but answers like a centurion, one must have an understanding of the Word. He wants us to become those who realize that nothing is impossible when Jesus asks for it, gives thanks, and Jesus speaks. He wants you to be a man who does not answer like Philip, but answers like a centurion, not a man who is wise in calculations, but a man who understands the word, even if it is at least at least. No matter how bright the calculation is, it will say the least, but if it is clear in the Word, it can be anything you believe in.

Matthew 19:4 ?esus answered and said to them, ?e who created them originally made them male and female.??

The Pharisees came to Jesus and tested him, saying, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason? Jesus answered and said, The maker of man did, and he answered in the way of God. The one who created man originally made us male and female. He said that since they separated from their parents and became one flesh, that which God has joined together, no one will be able to share. The Pharisees said that Moses had been given a certificate of divorce and told him to put it away. Jesus said that Moses said so because of the hardness of your hearts. Jesus wants you to know well that the focus of the answer has always been God.

3. Who God is

Like Philip, he is the one who makes them not answer

God is the one who makes believers not answer like Philip, but like a centurion. Furthermore, like Jesus, He is the one who allows us to answer in God's way.

4. Traces of Jesus (Confession and Sharing)

(1) The blood of Jesus - Answered like Philip

(2) The life of Jesus - Going beyond the centurion and choosing to answer like Jesus

5. Prayer

Like Philip, answer the least

I count and answer like Philip

A worldly answer like Philip

forgive me

Make me an answerer like Jesus.

Let me follow God's creation and answer me.

When you ask, do not ask with hardness.

Let the focus of your answer be on God like Jesus.
