Title: John 8:20 - His Times

Contents

These words were spoken before the treasury when he was teaching in the temple, but no one caught him, because his time was

for it has not come yet

He spoke these words while teaching in the temple area near the place where the offerings were put.

Yet no one seized him, because his time had not yet come.

1. What God Does

God controls the time. When God is in control, it is the time as God the Creator. As God the Creator, God is in control of all times in creation. So, as far as time is concerned, the creature cannot do anything. Man as a creature cannot manipulate his time by manipulating it, nor is he able to advance or delay his time. Two sparrows are sold for a farthing. However, for even one of them to fall to the ground, it must have God's permission. A man is much more precious than many sparrows. When God created man, He created it last. When God created man, he made it out of materials or materials that had never been used by other creatures. God's image, form, and breath were not used at all for other creatures. When God created man, what he made special from other creatures was that he might take the place of God. It was to rule and keep the work of God.

(1) These words were spoken before the treasury while he was teaching in the temple, for his hour had not yet come.

Jesus taught the Word in the temple in Jerusalem, where the temple was located. He even taught in councils where there was no temple. Where there was no council, he taught by the sea, in the fields, and sometimes in the mountains. No matter where he was, Jesus did not stop teaching the Word just as God had told him. The reason Jesus did not stop teaching the Word anywhere was because only the Word could change people. Jesus knew the hearts of the Pharisees. He was well aware that the hearts of the Pharisees were of the world and of hypocrisy. Even so, Jesus did not stop teaching even the Pharisees with the word. As he taught the Word, he wanted the Savior's grace to flow through it.

Jesus was well aware that only the Word can heal and save people, but also lead them to the kingdom of eternal rest. That is why he did not stop teaching the Word until the appointed time of God came. Jesus spoke the truth even before Pilate. Pilate called Jesus and asked if you were the King of the Jews. Jesus said, “Are you saying this for yourself or what others have said about me?” Pilate said, Am I a Jew, what have you done, since the people of your country and the chief priests have delivered you to me? Jesus said that my kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would not have fought and delivered me to the Jews. After all, the kingdom Jesus spoke of was the kingdom of truth. It was Jesus who taught even before the ark of the treasury and waited until God's time to preach the kingdom of truth.

(2) No one caught him, for his hour had not yet come.

In order to catch Jesus, God's time must come. Even a sparrow can be caught only when God's permission is granted, so much less can we catch Jesus, the Son of God, only when God's time comes. When Jesus said in front of the Pharisees that you did not know either me or God, it sounded like he was ignoring the Pharisees, but in reality, the Pharisees did not know either Jesus or God. The faith the Pharisees believed was a false belief that neither Jesus nor God knew. Even though the Pharisees had heard these words from Jesus, there was no arrester because his hour had not yet come.

No one can do anything unless the appointed time of God has come. Whether it is a small thing or a big thing, we can do anything only when the appointed time of God comes. Jesus did not stop teaching His Word until He was arrested by the Jews. Although the work of the signs was gradually reduced, the work of teaching the Word was more and more clearly performed. If Jesus had done less teaching and did more signs, Jesus could have been even king by the crowds. But Jesus didn't want him to be king like that. Because people can be renewed only when they see Jesus as a sign and hear His words. This is because the phenomena of signs are not eternal, but the words taught are eternal.

2. The heart of God

He wants to know well that it is God who brings the time

God wants His people to know that only God is in control of the times. That is why He wants us not to become a time manipulator before the time comes. Because if you manipulate the time incorrectly, you can even end up taking your own life. Man's life belongs to God. Because God gave it, God takes it. He wants us to be those who wait for that time with the word of patience until the day God takes it away. He wants us to wait for God's timing even on the days when the dew of heaven and the fatness of the earth are abundant. Until that time comes, He wants you to become a teacher of only the words He has told you. He wants us not to become those who cannot teach neither Jesus nor God by teaching other things.

1 John 2:18 “Children, this is the last time; as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, so many antichrists have arisen now, therefore we know that it is the last time.”

3. Who God is

You are the one who brings the time

God is the one who brings you to your appointed time. He is the one who is in charge of the last days, and he is the one who makes the last days the one who overcomes with the word of patience.

4. Traces of Jesus (Confession and Sharing)

(1) The blood of Jesus - what we thought the time had not come

(2) The life of Jesus - believing that the time has come and deciding to prepare for the end times

5. Prayer

If it does not come at the appointed time of God,

Neither man nor the world can do anything.

What I was afraid of before

forgive me

May the end times be kept with the word of patience.

Do not be deceived by the signs of the Antichrist.

May you be worthy of the calling you have been called.

Let me be the one who prepares robes as the chosen one.
