Title: John / Mark 9:38 ~ 40
Contents John / Mark 9: 38 ~ 40 who became the supreme with the consciousness of the second person
The disciples of Jesus are grouped into three groups of four each. The first group was Peter and Andrew, James and John, and the second group was Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew. And the three groups were James, Judas, Thaddeus, Simon and Judas. Today we are going to see John, the last disciple of the first group.
John, along with James, had a fiery personality and a strong sense of resonance, as the nickname Boanuge (son of thunder) suggests. His mother was also so sympathetic to the point that when Jesus became king, he would have one son sit on the right and the other on the left.
John had such a strong competitive spirit to be number one and was narrow-minded. In today's text, when someone cast out demons in the name of Jesus, John jumped and tried to stop him (verse 38). But Jesus did not forbid this (verse 39). ) said.
There are two approaches when using the principle. One is an approach that uses the principle as a way to exclude others, while the other is an approach that one tries to embrace when applying the principle if possible. Jesus approached the latter. We, too, should be such broad people.
God allows us to meet people with bad personalities so that we can become broad people. It is not a vision that I can achieve alone. When God gives me a vision, He gives me a vision that I can achieve with my co-workers, not on my own. Therefore, if you do not have a broad mind, you cannot use it greatly.
In this presidential election, someone I don't want to be elected. Even if elected president, he will not win more than 50% of the vote. But we need to be able to support and support whoever wins. In this way, politics and economy can develop and our country can also develop.
John was a small man, but he was changed when he met Jesus and lived with Jesus. The content of the Gospel of John and the content of the Epistles of John are very different. Liberal theologians say that the two gospels have different authors, but this is an argument that misses Christianity as a religion of change.
Then, we will analyze how John changed after meeting Jesus in two ways.
I. Became a happy person with a thorough second-person consciousness
-----------------------------------------------------------
After meeting Jesus, he became a servant. He was in the No. 1 complex, but with the advent of Acts, things have changed. Served as Peter's shadow under Peter. I was satisfied with the 2nd seat. It complemented and harmonized well with Peter's active personality.
1 Corinthians 13:13 says, “Therefore, faith, hope, and love, these three things, will always exist, but the greatest of these is love”, but John has all these three. Faith is shown in the Gospel of John, hope in Revelation, and love in 1-3 John. He had such roots because he had faith, hope, and love.
The top stars of the entertainment industry 20 years ago (eg Yoo Ji-in, etc.) are all gone now, but the supporting actors (eg Kang rich) are still alive and well. The first church father, Irenaeus, said that John lived until 98 AD. He was able to run for a long time because he had such an attitude of service and the consciousness of second person.
In the United States, there are 300,000 people named Peter, but 6 million people named John. The meek possessed all the earth. I want you to live a life of service and a life of helping. Because of him in the entertainment world, I want to become a person like Samija who shines in the lead role.
“Lord! May I serve you well as a second person.”
Ⅱ.Becoming a person of love
---------------------
Liberal theologians argue that the authors of the Gospels and the Book of Revelation are different. However, after meeting Jesus, John changed and became an apostle of love. John was the most loved by Jesus. At the Last Supper, they ate in the arms of Jesus. He said he was 10 at the time.
He wrote the epistle to John after he experienced the Lord's love so deeply. He says in 1 John 4:16, "God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
When you receive love, fear disappears. When the Roman soldiers came from the Garden of Gethsemane, they all fled, but it was John who returned. John followed as far as the high priest's court. And I followed Jesus to the cross and heard all the last words of Jesus. To him, Jesus asked him for a mother.
So, words that did not appear in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke appear in the Gospel of John. Representatively, among the seven words on the cross, “I thirst” and “It is finished” appear only in the Gospel of John. It is recorded only in the Gospel of John that water came out of the side that was pierced by a spear.
In 1 John 4:18 it says, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, for fear has a punishment, for the one who fears is not perfected in love.”
When I am in trouble, everyone around me leaves. But the one who loves remains until the end. When love is in me, I follow the Lord. It is said that no matter how hard a pianist practiced and tried, he could only reach 80 out of 100. Said that the other 20 can be filled when you love music and love the piano.
There is an inventor named Dim Cayman, nicknamed Edison, who was reincarnated in the United States. Out of his love for humanity, he invented the insulin pump for diabetics, a wheelchair for climbing stairs, and a water purifier to purify polluted water in Africa.
The driving force behind invention is love. John had this love. No matter how talented and capable you are, you can change the world only if you have love in order to become the last person in the climax. I pray that you will become a person of changing faith like John. End.
