Title: Jonah's Troubles
Contents
There is a saying that a troubled man is more beautiful than an animal without trouble.
Depending on the cause of our troubles, we have our humanity. There are human concerns, there is human charm, there is human meaning, and there is the beauty of human life.
Sometimes we live in hope that there will be no suffering. But that's an unhuman idea.
The clear truth is that God is willing to suffer any kind of suffering until we reach the truth that He wants. On the other hand, it is because God inflicts unquestionably difficult suffering, even down to holiness or the desired level of humility.
He will never allow concessions or tolerance until his will is fulfilled.
Because He is love and Almighty God.
Therefore, if you disobey Him, you have no choice but to worry.
First, Jonah (I)'s trouble is the lack of God's love.
Jonah's troubles appearing in today's text are mine.
Jonah is a man of God. Prophet. Those who believed in salvation, knew the Word, believed in power, and believed in God's judgment. There was faith, but no love. as well as disobeyed.
To be honest, I didn't like God's love.
So Jonah has a special concern (1 John 4:18). I have to admit that there is a lack of love in the depths of my troubles.
Jonah regarded God's love for forgiving the sinful Israelites as nothing.
We are all enemies before God because of our sins. But God forgave.
And you also said, 'Love your enemies (Assyria)' (Jon 3:9-10). But I ran away.
I cannot forget the suffering of my people (Israel). How do you say to repent and live the enemy (Nineveh)? I confess that it is better for me to die than for the enemy to live.
This is the thought of man (Jonah = I of Yonom) (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Second, it is because of ignorance of not realizing the great love of God.
After a thousand hardships, they came back to life in the belly of the whale and had no choice but to go to the enemy and urge them to repent, and they repent (Jon 3:1-10).
Jonah is amazing. Those enemies who are not enough even if they perish will escape judgment. Angry Jonah jumps (Jonah 4:3).
But God said, "You are not worthy of your anger." To make him realize, a scorching east wind blows on him, and he makes a gourd vine to grow overnight to avoid him. Jonah, who is happy and cool, makes the gourd vine dry again, so Jonah suffers again. Then Jonah is awakened.
"What's wrong with you because of the gourd? Have you ever planted it? Did you water it? Does it have nothing to do with you? Jonah's force is the result of ignorance to think only of himself.
"If you did not toil or cultivate, and if you took care of this gourd vine that grew up overnight and dried up overnight, how much more can I spare you in this great city of Nineveh, where there are a hundred thousand people who cannot distinguish between left and right, and there are many livestock?" (Jon 3:10-11).
Third, it is God's justice (love) that cannot be compromised with emotions.
Jonah (I = human) is a foolish and evil sinner who quickly complains and resents when things do not go his way.
Everyone, have you ever broken the law? Jesus love. Are all the people I like good and all the people I hate bad? I am an enemy, but there are many good people.
Hear the voice of the Lord praying in the Garden of Gethsemane.
“Not my will, but your will!” And he died on the cross.
The love of the cross, the history of life. Here is true freedom and peace.
That is, disobeying God's will is the trouble. Disobeying your conscience is a problem. Confronting the truth is troublesome. It is troublesome to take a step backwards even though you know this is the right path.
take me away from me Hallelujah!!
