Title: Joseph Man of Dreams

Contents

dream man joseph

Genesis 37 1-11

There are many characters in the Bible. If there is someone you love, respect, and want to follow more, it is probably Joseph.

If I could describe Joseph in one word, he was the person who turned the worst situation into the best blessing.

I discovered that there were four characteristics in Joseph's life.

(1) Joseph is a righteous man, a chaste man, and an honest man.

(2) Joseph is a man with dreams. Joseph is a visionary. A person with a dream is not alone.

A person with a dream has a future.

(3) Joseph is a man of faith who trusts in God. The secret to making your dreams come true is faith.

(4) Joseph is a man of forgiveness.

We first find Joseph's honesty in verses 1-2 through the Onul text. The text introduces Joseph's childhood. Jacob is 17 years old, so he is the most sensitive and rebellious.

We find three things here. (1) Joseph's living environment (2) The fact that he was with his father (3) The fact that he was with his brothers. Joseph was born to a father like Jacob.

Jacob's name means well-known grabbing, he's like a deceiver. It's a liar.

He is the one who stole the blessing and birthright that Esau deserved. And he is a failure as a father.

But from such Jacob a man like Joseph was born.

This is God's providence and grace. We don't understand when we read the Bible like this.

The important thing is that Joseph lived in the Promised Land where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob lived for 17 years. That is, Joseph was educated in the Word of God from an early age.

We hope that our children will become saints who use their strength to grow up in the church.

In verses 1-2, it is recorded that Joseph told his brothers what he did to his father. If we misinterpret this part, a misunderstanding arises. It is because of Joseph's honesty.

Sometimes we are misunderstood and hated by people for our honesty.

Honest people always lose. Joseph preached according to what he saw and heard, and for that reason he was always hated by his brothers. The crisis in society today is losing this honesty.

Our society will die if we are honest now. If you're honest, you lose. That is why we act like we know and don't know, and we pretend we don't even hear. But this honesty leads to chastity. Because Joseph is honest, the Bible is said to be pure.
