Starting today, we are going to look at the story of Joseph together. Anyone who goes to church is familiar with this story. But if you think you know, many misunderstandings can arise. Because there is always another abundance. I hope you will listen to the voice of God speaking to me anew now.
There is a celebrity named Jeon Jeon Joo. It's an older lady. In terms of body shape and facial beauty, they are not like celebrities, and they look much worse than most deacons in our church. But one day, so-called so-called suddenly began to float. It's just starting to appear in TV commercials and shows. It is clear that the world has changed a lot to become a star with such an appearance. But on the other hand, there are people who have a handsome face and a nice body, sing well, exercise well, have a lot of money... It's really shocking... By the way, except for Jesus in the Bible, if there is anyone who is of all kinds of beauty, he is Joseph, and I have been taught that way. He seems really impeccable, and in the end he becomes the prime minister of Egypt during a great drought and becomes a savior who saves his whole family and various peoples at that time.
However, the 17-year-old boy Joseph mentioned in the text is by no means a beautiful person, nor a perfect person. In verse 2, Joseph is a shepherd. But in verse 3, he wore colored clothes. But the colored clothes are full clothes or long hanging clothes, so you can't keep sheep wearing them. But with whom is that Joseph shepherding now? In verse 2, we see that Jacob's illegitimate sons, that is, shepherds with his concubines' sons Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. There are a few things that need to be pointed out at this point. Most of the stories in the Old Testament revolve around the nation of Israel, aren't those 12 sons of Jacob? Those sons were none other than the sons of two wives and two concubines who were their maidservants... How could they have gotten along? Their real siblings also fight a lot as they grow up, so what was their childhood and puberty like between the half brothers? Isn't it a very sad family? This is the background of the entire history of Israel. You have to think about Joseph in that.
Besides, there are too many factors that make Joseph hate him. The fact that Jacob is the eldest son of Rachel, his most beloved wife, and that he wore special clothes because he was in love with Jacob. Also, Joseph himself is not shepherding the sheep, and is paying tribute to the other brothers. The meaning of the word Joseph originally meant to accumulate and accumulate, perhaps Jacob gave him such a name to collect and build up his possessions. Originally, the word is an expression of “accumulating more hatred”. So, what Joseph is building up is the hatred of his brothers. Also, I had a dream twice, that even my brothers and my parents were bowing down to him... No, does this make sense? In the end, he scolds his father. Considering all these circumstances, the point is that Joseph is a really poor, selfish, ignorant child.
However, the important thing is that this Joseph later becomes a “savior” who saves his family, Egypt, and all the peoples of that time. If so, how much training would he need if this kind of Joseph would become the savior who saves all people of his time? Wouldn't it be an incredible workout? So how are we today? No matter how perfect we seem, in fact, aren't we the ones who need a lot of training for God to use? God does God's work through God's training regardless of our innate temperament. It must be a training worthy of God's use. I hope that you and all of the saints will be properly used before God through training.
