Title: Joy and Blessing of the Righteous
Contents
Psalms 90-99 are worship psalms. In particular, Psalm 92 is called 'Sabbath Poems', and it is given its name because it was used on the Sabbath in Zerubbabel's temple.
The original rest is the result of God's creation. God created the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that in six days and rested on the seventh day. In the fourth of the Ten Commandments, God commanded us to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
(Ex 20:10-11) “The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God, and you shall not do any work, neither you nor your son or your daughter, nor your male servant or your female servant, nor your livestock, nor the stranger who is in your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.”
You shall keep my sabbaths, which is a sign between me and you from generation to generation, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you.”
(Numbers 11:9) “When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna fell with it.”
Exodus 16:20) “They disobeyed Moses, and some left them until morning, and worms grew and they smelled, and Moses was angry with them.” Moses is a holiday tomorrow, a holy sabbath to the Lord. Keep all the rest for you until morning. They kept it until morning on the sabbath, as Moses had commanded, but there was no smell, and no worms were found.”
“The house of Israel called his name Manna, and it was white as cat seeds, and tasted like sweets mixed with honey, and its shape was like pearls.
(Ex 31:14-15) “You shall keep the sabbath, for it is a holy day to you, and all who profane it shall be put to death, and all who work on that day shall have their life cut off from among the people. Six days they shall work, but the seventh day is a great sabbath, holy to the LORD; whoever works on the sabbath must be put to death.
(Leviticus 26:2) “Keep my sabbaths and fear my sanctuary; I am the LORD.
God has blessed us humans through the Sabbath. Deuteronomy 5:14) “The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God, that you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant or your ox or your donkey or all your livestock or any stranger who dwells in your gate do nothing. You shall give your male servant or your maidservant a rest just like you.” He said, “I will give the land a rest every seventh year and forgive all debts.” The Sabbath is a time to give thanks to God for giving us everything abundantly, to fellowship with God, and to get closer and closer, and it is a day of grace and blessing.
People think that if you work on a Sunday, you can make more money. So, I see a lot of people who become servants of work. However, in the end, you will see that only your body is exhausted and you do not get a lot of income. It's a really sad sight.
This poem is the theme of the wicked must perish and the righteous must triumph, and the joy and confidence of the righteous flows throughout.
This psalm calls God “Most Most High”. To call God the Most High means to be in perfect beauty, lacking nothing.
Man cannot be perfect on his own. Because people are insecure. But God Himself is full of glory.
It says, “Give thanks to the LORD and praise your name with the quiet sound of the tiara, the lyre, and the harp.” All of the instruments featured here are known for their quiet, deep sounding. These are instruments that match the character of God.
In the first part, God's disposition worthy of praise is expressed in various ways. In other words, it is expressed as faithfulness, kindness, greatness, honor, and justice, and based on this, the eventual destruction of the wicked and the prosperity of the righteous are declared. This is the reason that the righteous can not lose their joy and hope in the midst of the current prosperity of the wicked, and it is a characteristic that is praised joyfully in this poem. The second part sings the joy of blessing given to the righteous who depend on and praise God's disposition. The blessings bestowed on the saints are specific. He exalts the horns of the righteous, makes them honorable, and prospers with fresh oil, and makes them see the retribution of the enemy ‘What is the enemy’s retribution? It is the deprivation of all powers of unrighteousness. We see with our own eyes and hear with our ears that our enemies are rewarded. Let your ears hear the retribution of the evildoer. God is with us. A believer who trusts in the Lord does not perish after prospering to some extent. Because he is rooted in God, he always bears fruit.
God is able to bear all our shortcomings and to make up for them. Everyone, please don't be afraid and trust only God. Please put your roots deep in God. Then we will always bear the fruit of success. The blessings bestowed on the righteous prosper like a palm tree planted in the temple of the Lord, grow like a cedar in Lebanon, and eventually prosper in God's court. The wicked run out of sap and become weak, but the righteous bear fruit even in old age, and their sap is abundant, and the light is green, showing the honesty of the Lord.
The poet takes pleasure in exposing and praising God's mercy and faithfulness in the morning and evening. What do you start with in the morning, the very beginning of the day, and what do you end up with before going to bed?
“Anything good for you today?” “Pastor, aren’t every day a good day? God gives good days, but isn’t it because people make bad days and gloomy days?”
Chrysostom, who had a “golden mouth,” lived a life of gratitude while always preaching the gospel. The Roman emperor at the time he lived in made and promulgated a law prohibiting the preaching of the Christian gospel. He was imprisoned for violating this law. Thank you.” He prayed. Even after being sentenced to death, he said, “Thank God. The most beautiful death of a saint is called martyrdom, but thank you for allowing people like me to join the ranks of martyrdom.” As soon as the execution was about to be executed, the order to stop the execution suddenly came. Then Crosostom wept and offered a prayer of thanks. "Thank God. There is still more paper work to be done. Help me to be faithful to death.”
