Title: Judas Lost Blessing

Wednesday Prayer Meeting (2012.01.25)
Judas the Lost
Acts 1:16-26
Judas was also a disciple. But he sold the Lord. And ended an unhappy life. This is the most tragic life. He became the kind of person that would have been better for him if he had not been born into the world. He is the one who has lost the best of luck. Let's be careful not to lose our luck.
Judah
He had a good name. He got a good job.
Verse 17: “This man was originally part of our company, entrusted with a part of this ministry.”
But everything was lost.
Verses 18-19, “This man bought a field with the wages of unrighteousness, and afterward, collapsed, his stomach burst open and all his intestines drained out, and this was made known to all who lived in Jerusalem, and they called the field Akeldama in their language, which means Field of Blood. Ira”
He throws away the blessings of being a disciple from the Lord and sells the Lord. And he took 30 silver in his hand. Thirty shekels of silver was equivalent to the ransom of a slave traded at the time.
I sold the Lord to that extent. But it died without being used. I lost my money and my life. Above all, he lost his precious position and lost his disciple's blessing.
But because he forsakes him like that, someone else was blessed.
A new disciple was chosen. Another person takes the wonderful blessings of the twelve disciples.
Verse 26 “And Matthias was obtained by lot, and she was among the eleven apostles.”
Matthias took over the office.
Judas forsakes the good.
The Lord didn't lose, and the church didn't lose. You are only hurting yourself.
Be careful. If we give it up, someone gets the blessing instead. Let's not give up work and leave the hallway. Let's not give up our devotion and lose the blessings we will enjoy for our children and grandchildren. If I don't work, someone else will. And they take that hallway.
Matthias took what Judah had forsaken.
Cherish the positions you have given us. Both the deacons, the elders, and the elders are important. Choir member, Sunday School teacher What a precious job. Above all, it is a gift from the Lord. It is a God-given mission. There is a hallway along with the position.
It's not just Judas.
The disciples do not lag behind in that regard.
They have lost all the very blessed work they should have done. They have lost the opportunity to be blessed with a wonderful blessing.
When Jesus was arrested, they forsook Him and fled (Matthew 26:56, Mark 14:50).
Others were blessed by that wind.
I would like to introduce two people who have been blessed by the disciples.
Just as Matthias gained what Judas forsaken, there are some people who are blessed with what the disciples rejected.
Simon the Cyrene
This person was the one who took up the cross of the Lord in his place.
Mark 15:21 “At the same time, Simon the Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, came from the country and passed by, and they forced him to go with him, and they took away the cross of Jesus.”
When the Lord carried the cross and went on the road of suffering, it was of course the disciples who should be by his side to help. Peter or John or James must have been one of them.
But they all disappeared. They all ran away after shouting so loudly. But an unexpected person came to the Lord. And he carried the cross for him.
And you will receive a wonderful blessing.
He was connected with the words of Romans and later became a wonderful family of faith.
to guess
“Greetings Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who is my mother” (Romans 16:13).
Joseph of Arimathea
This man is a very blessed man who buried the body of the Lord.
Mark 15:43 “Joseph of Arimathea came and boldly entered Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. This man is an honorable member of the council and awaits the kingdom of God.”
All the disciples run away and there is no one there. It was the disciples who were to hold the Lord's funeral.
But as soon as he ran away and no one was near, an unexpected person appeared. And he took care of the important funeral of the Lord.
It is mentioned in more detail in Matthew.
Matthew 27:57-60 “When evening came, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who was also a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus, and Pilate ordered it to be delivered. and put it in his new tomb, which he had dug in the rock, and rolled a great stone and laid it at the door of the tomb.”
He even gave his grave to the Lord.
The disciples have left. But other people get it.
Even if we throw it away, there is no damage to the kingdom of God.
If I don't do it, someone else will do it and be blessed.
When blessings are given to you, you must keep them.
Be happy when you are given work. Don't run away because it's not what you want.
You will only lose your luck.
There are several opportunities in our lifetime.
Take that chance. This is your chance to be blessed. He gave us a chance to be blessed, but let's not let it go.
Not only do you lose your job, you lose your blessings.
Judas Iscariot was enslaved by corruption, but he also lost the Lord and lost his way.
I lost my life, I lost my money, I lost everything.
The disciples also lost their chance. Because he forsook the Lord in fear and ran away, he not only lost a wonderful opportunity to serve the Lord, but also lost it to others.
Let's not lose our luck.
The Apostle Paul is also sadly introducing such a person.
2 Timothy 4:9-11 “Come quickly to me. Demas, because he loves this world, has left me and went to Thessalonica, Cresces to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia, and only Luke is with me. Take Mark when you come.” He is good for my work.”
Luke is with us until now, and Timothy wants him to come soon, but he tells him to bring John Mark as well. John Mark is a useful person to the apostle Paul.
However, there is a sad person here. That's Dema.
He was a man who went through hardship with the apostle Paul and carried out the ministry.
He was also in Roman prison with the apostle Paul (Colossians 4:14, Phm 1:24).
But he left the apostle Paul and went away. When I hit my limit, I gave up.
Let me not hand over my place to Matthias.
Let us not be deprived of the grace that will be given to me by Joseph of Arimathea.
Let's not let Simon of Cyrene receive the blessing that I will receive.
We keep our mission and work, so let's keep the corridor.
