Title: Keep the Beautiful (2 Timothy 1:6-14)

Contents

Topic: Keep the Beautiful (2 Timothy 1:6-14)

These days, there is a new word created by excessive appearanceism. It's not something else, it's the "chan syndrome". "Beautiful" and "Body" are syndromes. Our society is now deeply immersed in the Jajang syndrome. So, I saw this in the newspaper to become an ulzzang, but there was a woman who had surgery number 7 while fixing one nose. Some people have lost their lives during fat removal surgery.

It is true that it is painful and difficult to have surgery with a knife on the body because I was sick and had no choice but to endure such pain just to fix a handsome face that was not out of fashion because of my intense desire to become beautiful. However, I think it would be better not to do such hard work unless you are in a state of depression or disgust because of your face because of your lack of self-confidence.

One of the most used ways to become beautiful without surgery is to use makeup, but these days, new cosmetics that are advertised to make you beautiful with use are constantly pouring into the market. Some cosmetics are said to remove wrinkles, some cosmetics are advertised as beautifying the face, and some cosmetics companies offer various answers to the question "How can I keep my skin young without getting old?" also do.

Some newspapers have suggested the following solution: With the title 'How to Get Rid of Wrinkles on the Face', "Ladies and Gentlemen! Do you want to stay young? If so, join the church choir. Singers can keep their youthful look. I keep moving for the sake of it and it develops well, so I get less wrinkles than other people.

You don't have to be a choir member. All you have to do is live your life praising the Lord with a joyful heart. It is not a Christian to always be serious. Because that person lives such a happy life, we just have to live so that people around us can feel the desire to believe in Jesus as well. He doesn't have that much money, so why is he living so proudly? Why is that woman always living brightly despite her family circumstances? I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become a person who asks questions to those around you.

There is absolutely nothing to blame for the desire to be beautiful. However, it is thought that there is a problem in that modern people's desire to be beautiful is only activated in excessively material and physical things.

First, what God has entrusted to me is a beautiful thing.

In the days of the Early Church, people who believed in Jesus were put in court and had to testify publicly. If he testifies in an open court, he is executed for it. Therefore, at that time, believing in Jesus was death. He said that although he was entrusted with such a task in which he had no choice but to suffer, he was not ashamed of it.

The gospel that is said to be beautiful in today's text was entrusted by the Lord to the apostle Paul, and the apostle Paul entrusted to his disciple Timothy. "Keep the beautiful thing I have asked you to do," but what you asked for means what you entrusted. The resurrected Lord entrusted the gospel to the Apostle Paul. Paul entrusted it to Timothy with the same heart. God has entrusted the mystery of the gospel to someone like me.

Even if we say that we suffer because of what God has entrusted to us, I hope that we will become believers who will not be ashamed of it and can boast of their beauty.

As you pass by the scene of a hit and run car accident, you see a large franc card hanging. It is a franc card that contains the content of the earnest appeal: "We are looking for eyewitnesses." It is about the families of the victims of a car accident looking for people who have seen the scene. Whenever I pass by a place like this, I think about how urgently it is to find a witness, and if there is a witness, I hope that the connection will be made quickly and the case will be resolved. The Lord is looking for witnesses. You are looking for eyewitnesses. As those entrusted with the gospel, we are looking for those who testify of this gospel.

We should not be ashamed of what God has entrusted to us, but think of it as beautiful. The mission is to think beautifully. I believe that when you feel beautiful, you create feelings of love, pride, and feelings that you want to show off.

God has entrusted us with this life and this body. In other words, God has entrusted my present life to me. Therefore, no matter what anyone thinks of me, I have to think and love my life beautifully.

The beautiful things that God has entrusted to me are also the gifts that God has entrusted to me. We should appreciate, develop, and nurture the gifts the Lord has given us.

Second, trusting in God is a beautiful thing.

Verse 12, ?nd for this reason I suffered, but I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have trusted, and I am convinced that he is able to keep the things I have entrusted to me until that day.??

In missiology, there is the term ?misho dei? meaning "God's mission". It means that God works and missions.

Mission is not grandiose, but mission is to let God work through me in the field of my life.

A surgeon at a large hospital always spent time alone before an operation. His amazing technique and the necessary composure in surgery have led many young doctors to reason about what this surgeon had to do with his successful operation.

One day, a trainee with great courage asked the surgeon about this. The surgeon calmly said, "Yes, there is definitely a relationship between the two. I ask God to guide my operation in every operation. I often perform very difficult operations, and the patient's condition after the operation is very difficult. There are countless times when I fall into unexpected situations and I don't know what to do, but I soon become aware of the Lord's help. The Lord gives me the wisdom I need to make the operation successful. I don't ask the Lord for help first. I've never had a surgical knife in my hand." From then on, the phrase "a doctor with the Lord" spread among the hospital's staff and patients.

Some time later, a man came to this hospital to operate on his young daughter, and after hearing this praying surgeon's story, he asked the surgeon to operate on his daughter.

Ultimately, all healing is done by God (Psalm 103:3).

We, Christians, pray like this in whatever we do, so we should seek God's help. That is why we need to be recognized by the world as people who work together with God.

Self-care and prudence, your best maneuvers, these things will never lift you up and free you from your shame, just as a cobweb does not stop a falling boulder.

Romans 1:16 says, "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes." God's work does not require grand organization, plan, or human technique, but we rely on God in everything, from our co-workers right next to me and from our neighbors we always meet in our alleyways. We do not depend on worldly things, but on God. You have to be recognized as a living person And as long as you show them your faith and share the gospel at the decisive moment, that is mission and you are participating in God's mission.

Thirdly, we must strive to protect beautiful things.

You... I told you to follow the right words that I heard from you and keep them (13), and keep the beautiful things that I have asked you to do (14).

The word 'filasso' used to mean "to keep" here is used to mean "to keep something from being lost or damaged." For example, it is used to protect the palace from robbers and property from thieves (Luke 11:21, Acts 22:20). Beautiful things must be protected like this.

Just as a person walking or standing on an incline is always in danger of rolling down, so if you don't work hard to protect something beautiful, you will eventually lose it.

Even if the ugly and dirty things are left alone, they retain and grow the ugly and dirty. So there is no need to try to get ugly and dirty. But beautiful things are not. In order to be beautiful, a lot of effort, hard work, and the will to keep it are absolutely necessary to keep something beautiful.

There are always satanic forces who oppose the gospel, transform it, pollute it, and spread bad news if possible. Therefore, we Christians should strive to keep the beautiful gospel that God has entrusted to us. We must strive to keep the beautiful conscience God has given us. We must protect the beautiful church. And we must strive to keep our spiritual gifts. You have to work hard to keep it from being stolen, lost, or damaged.

Doctors say that people who watch games have a much higher mortality rate than those who participate and run. Cardiologists say that being a spectator rather than participating in a match puts more strain on the heart and can lead to a heart attack. In other words, things like body weight, blood pressure, pulse, cholesterol, and fat breakdown go up, and on the contrary, vitality, oxygen absorption, adaptability, vigor, and strength are weakened.

If a Christian only watches, stands by and watches, it becomes dangerous. It's harmful. Criticism, discouragement, disillusionment, boredom arise, and everything spiritual is blurred. Therefore, it is important for us Christians to listen to other people's stories and receive grace, but we must also have faith that we directly experience.
