In today's text, all the men of Israel's chosen people who came out of Egypt are told to keep the feasts three times a year and show them before God three times a year. The three festivals are the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Ingathering, and the Feast of Harvests. This is because, after offering the firstfruits of barley to the altar at the end of the first Sabbath, the Harvest Festival ceremony is performed from the seventh Sabbath day. Today, on Thanksgiving Day, let's think deeply about the deeper meaning of the Harvest Festival.
1. The reason why God commanded us to keep the Harvest Festival - To remember the grace that God redeemed. God said to give the firstfruits to remember the grace of the Passover. When we also keep the Harvest Festival, God's grace We must remember Jesus Christ and the Lamb.-It is for the restoration of faith for the people of Israel. Beginning with the harvest of the barley and at the beginning of Pentecost, the harvest lasted for seven weeks until the harvest of wheat. Therefore, God commanded us not to do any work while keeping the Feast of Harvest, but to focus on offering sacrifices. -It is to live a life separate from the Canaanites. This is a ordinance given by God while he was still staying in the wilderness, but it is not the wilderness that will be enforced, but after the conquest of the land of Canaan.
2. The Meaning and Thanksgiving of the Harvest Festival - It is a season to give thanks for God's grace. The fundamental meaning of the Harvest Festival is to give thanks to God for providing us with a bountiful harvest. Therefore, with the same heart that the Israelites kept the Harvest Festival, we We should consider all of our lives as God's grace and give thanks with all our body, mind, and devotion.-The resurrection of the Lord and the birth of the New Testament church through the Pentecost. Pentecost is the day of Pentecost. In other words, it is the day the New Testament church was born. Just as the earth bears abundant fruit and produces a bountiful harvest, the members of the church must also bear abundant spiritual fruit and reap it. You will be in grace.
3. The power of thanksgiving 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks for everything, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus - Gratitude is the ability to express your faith in God. There are many sad things in life that we cannot express. Gratitude is a great expression of faith.-Gratitude is the power to increase God's grace and love. Gratitude is the proper attitude of the saints for God's grace that has been bestowed upon us. Proverbs 3:9-10 Your wealth and your Honor the LORD with the firstfruits of your produce, and your storehouses will be full, and your winepresses will overflow with new wine.
