Title: Keep Your Lips Alive

content n style=line-height:160%>

Today is Jeremiah 3. Through the prophet Jeremiah, God pointed out the state of Israel and Judah in detail. God compared the relationship with Israel as husband and wife. This emphasizes that the couple should be united in mind and body. God took his chosen people as his wives and wanted them to become one with God. He loved them that much.

In the book of Ephesians, Paul states that the church is the bride of Jesus Christ. Also in the book of Revelation, the church is looking forward to his calling as the bride of Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:7-8). The most important thing for a couple is holiness and trust. Holiness means the complete purification of the soul and body, and trust is faith. If this problem is broken between the couple, the couple can no longer lead a married life.

Also, once a married couple is formed, they cannot be separated. “The Lord made them male and female from the creation of the world, saying, ‘Man will leave his father and mother, and the two will become one flesh. Therefore, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together cannot be divided. (Mark 106-9) He said. Here, the Hebrew word el gato is also used to refer to one God, meaning that two persons become one.

The Lord said, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, except because of fornication, commits adultery” (Matthew 19:9). If you marry anywhere else, you commit adultery” (Mark 10:11, 12). In this way, a married couple is a matchmaker from heaven that can never be separated except for fornication. You can divorce your wife only if you have committed fornication.

God explained Israel and Judah by using human examples. "For example, if a man divorces his wife and he leaves and becomes someone else's wife, will the headquarters take him back?" he asked. If that happens, wouldn't the world be really messed up? In fact, it is said that there is an internet site that exchanges couples in Korea these days. It is also said that students from prestigious universities are married to each other. The world has truly become a meaningless place.

God pointed to Israel and asked, "Lift up your eyes and see yourself. Where is the place where you have not committed sexual immorality?" In fact, yes. Lift up our eyes and look everywhere, the whole world is obsessed with rejecting God and building and enjoying their own gods. The Bible says, "Therefore the rain has ceased, and the latter rain has passed away." Where do our blessings come from? David sang that my blessings come from my mountain. But the song of thanksgiving to God has ceased, and our faces are all intoxicated with the world's pleasures and are immersed in new joys. Meanwhile, our lives have been hidden from the face of God, and the early and latter rains have stopped.

First, through Jeremiah, God is reminding us of the fact that Judah's sister Israel was divorced from God by committing fornication. The people of Judah were well aware that the destruction of Israel was because they forsook God and fell into idols. But Judah was more filthy than northern Israel.

God told Jeremiah to go to Israel and cry out for them to return to the Lord. He had mercy on them and said that he would no longer be angry with them. But when they come back, He says, "Only confess your sins." And the Lord said to them, "Return, you rebellious children, for I am your husband." God gave birth to the Israelites as children and loved them as wives. Therefore, we are preaching the love of God that cannot forsake them even if they sin.

Also, God said that He would make a new choice in order to correct the rebellious ones. “I will bring you to Zion, one from the city and two from the tribe, and I will give you a shepherd after my own heart, and they will nourish you with knowledge and understanding” (verses 14:15).

This refers to the Messiah who is to come. In the past, God told Samuel that I would raise a man after my own heart. He promised that Saul would be destroyed and David would be raised. This meant that the authority given to rule over his people would be abolished and that the Lord would give it to the newly established one.

God said that those who are like me will teach with knowledge and understanding. This is pointing to the ignorance and foolishness of the spiritual leaders who will lead the people. However, God foretold that a new age would soon come. Thus, God does not destroy them forever, but is looking forward to their confession and return to the Lord. And he said that he had prepared an eternal kingdom for them.

God has declared that Jerusalem will become the throne of the Lord when a man agreeable to me comes. Because the word of the Lord comes out of Zion. Then, who is the one who has one heart with God? In the Gospels, when the Lord was baptized and came up from the water, He said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” And on the Mount of Transfiguration, He said to the disciples, “This is my beloved Son; listen to him.”

God gave the divorce papers to Israel and Judah, who had committed fornication from God, but never abandoned them. When they returned after confessing their sins, God revealed that a beautiful world would be created for them. Jeremiah prophesied about the glory of that time, "The house of Judah will go out with the house of Israel and come out of the north with them to the land I gave to your ancestors as an inheritance."

But they have not yet reached the heart of repentance, but live their mouths, muttering, "Behold, we have come to you, and you are the Lord our God" (verse 22). Perhaps you, reading this article, are not like this. But we must confess in our hearts and return to the Lord. This is the way to restore the merciful love of the Lord.
