know grace
Luke 7:36-50
A wealthy father was hospitalized. However, the coming children only fight for property in front of their father. I don't know grace. In Samuel, there was a situation where Saul could be killed by David while pursuing David, but David only cut off the hem of his robe and did not kill Saul. Knowing this, Saul is moved, but after a while, he sets out to kill David again. Because they forgot grace.
Thank you to those who know grace. An old woman made her friend's son work in her restaurant. Shortly thereafter, an additional new employee was hired, and he was complaining more and more over time. The new employee asked the owner's friend's son why he was acting so stupid. The friend's son said it was because of the grace that the owner gave him a job and allowed him to meet his spouse. The woman in today's text washed Jesus' feet with tears and poured expensive perfume on it because she knew the grace of the Lord to accept and forgive a sinner like her. The grace I received was great, and there were many tears of gratitude. Paul was always thankful for the grace he received from God (1 Corinthians 1:4). He suffered from diseases and hardships his entire life, but he lived without being affected by it. World-famous soprano Shin Young-ok said that while recording a praise album last year, he couldn't record it properly because of endless tears. There were so many difficult years that I thought about suicide, but it was because of the thought that I had come this far by the grace of the Lord. Dear saints, let's find out and give thanks to those around us and God's grace that has been bestowed upon us. Faith is finding forgotten grace.
Second, when you know grace, you are humble. Jacob was originally a man who lived a life of trickery without grace. I cheated on my brother and my father and had to leave the house. However, while living at my uncle's house, even if he tried to deceive me ten times to pay less, I am protected by God's grace. I became a person of grace. So, when he meets Esau, he confesses that his children and wealth are the grace of God. He also refers to himself as a slave and his older brother as his master, acting humbly. A new family works hard in the church. However, if anyone is jealous, those who do not know grace close their hearts and stop serving. But those who know grace confess their shortcomings to God and endure. I humbly look back. A disciple of St. Francis saw in a dream the throne of heaven prepared by his master and became jealous. After waking up from the dream, I went to my teacher and asked what kind of person he thought he was, and he said, “I am the worst person in the world.” When I asked again who could become a saint if he called the teacher evil, he said that if he had received the grace he had received from others, he would have been a much better person than him. Everyone, pray for grace. Then you will become a saint.
Third, if we receive grace, we will have more mercy and compassion. In ancient times, a change of king would annihilate the former royal family. However, after David became king, he gave all of Saul's fields to Mephibosheth, Jonathan's son, to join him at the king's table. Because he remembered Jonathan's grace. People who have not experienced grace are generally not tolerant, but the more they experience grace, the warmer their heart becomes. The Bible says that the saints are those who have been saved by grace. There was a persimmon tree in the yard of Toegye Yi Hwang's house. But every year, when the persimmons are ripe, the children in the neighborhood pick them all up. Still, Lee Hwang did not get angry and said, “Guys, can you leave me a little bit for me to taste?” I did.
