Title: Know Your Tolerance (Philippians 4:4-7)

Contents

We spend each day in the midst of that chasm in harmony with people every day. And depending on the relationship among them, we cry and laugh, we are unhappy and we are happy. For a person, misfortune comes from relationships rather than misfortune from possessions. A husband and wife at home are happy if their relationship is good. Even in the church, when the members have good relationships and lead a life of faith, they can lead a happy life of faith. I want to go to church, I want to stay for a long time when I go to church, and when I go out, I want to brag about the church. The same is true in society. I am happy when I have good relationships with people. Therefore, you need skills in relationships. The skill of a relationship is to be tolerant, not different.

God is teaching us how to live in peace for all people, how to live in peace in all communities, and how to live happily through the text of the text. "Let your generosity be known to all. The Lord is near." If people are not tolerant, criticize and curse each other, bite and eat each other, and one another will perish (Galatians 5:15). You can only be unhappy with each other. Tolerance is the way we live together. Living alone requires no tolerance. But if we want to live together, we need to be tolerant of each other.

Tolerance is a way to heal relationships before they get sick. Diseases must be treated in advance before they occur so that the cost is low and the disease can be healed cleanly.

Tolerance is a price that must be paid for the peace and reconciliation of the community. Community is a grace and gift from God, but we must not forget that it can be taken away at any time. At the price of tolerance, communities are preserved and grown.

Recently, one of the violent incidents in the southwestern part of Seoul has been resolved. catch the culprit. However, the reason for the crime was that "I thought the other person was staring at me as I passed by, so I killed him in an angry heart. It's a world that kills if you look at it. It's a world that kills you when you get angry. This is the world these days. The mind is getting dull, hard, and narrow. I see them becoming more and more selfish, and living with a narrow heart that cannot embrace others. In a way, I think this is not a chronic disease of modern people.

The problem is that there is no tolerance in our hearts and in our society right now. What we need above all else now is tolerance. Tolerance means embracing yourself and others. To accept something different from yourself, to embrace it even though it's different, to embrace it with love even though it doesn't fit well this is tolerance. Men should be masculine and women should be feminine. And above all, Christians must be Christians. To be a Christian is to be tolerant. The great vessel of humanity depends on how generously you tolerate the shortcomings of others.

Who is an adult? who is the big one? He is a tolerant person. The amount of tolerance is the size of the bowl.

The tolerance spoken of in this text has a much deeper meaning than we understand and think it will be.

Here, 'tolerance' refers to 'spiritual patience' that maintains composure without being easily shaken or stumbled even in the face of damage or adversity. It also means giving up your rights and being generous towards others. The early church members suffered a lot of persecution. He suffered all the damage he could have suffered because he believed in Jesus. No legal protection whatsoever. Property was confiscated, children could not get along with their peers, and sometimes they had to lose their place of living and have to wander aimlessly. There were even cases where they were dragged away, beaten harshly, and killed secretly. When faced with this kind of thing, I interpreted tolerance as an attitude of forgiving, patience, and waiting while looking only at God, rather than harboring hostility or anger towards those who persecute and harass them.

If so, how much more tolerance should you exercise toward yourself and your family in a special relationship? First of all, I hope that the saints can be tolerant to their families.

A home is not a place to live alone, but a place to live together. Therefore, tolerance between family members is absolutely necessary. Saying it's okay because it's a family can cause a big upset

You don't know how precious your family is. Family is the relationship of blood and flesh. So nothing is more important than family. If there is anyone in this world who can go with you to the end, only your family. People form and maintain relationships when it is good for them. But when the benefits disappear, the relationship ends. But the family is not. Family is the grace and gift that God has given us so that we can always be refreshed and comforted so that we do not get frustrated while we live in this harsh world, and that we can enjoy joy in our hearts.

Please take a look around your beloved children, wives, husbands, parents and brothers at home. Is there anyone in the family who is hurt because of my intolerance? If so, please follow the instructions. ?et your generosity be known to all.??I have to show my husband how wide my heart is because I live with Jesus. Show it to your wife. Show it to your children. Show that open heart to the families who hate me. Then we live and God is glorified.

We must show tolerance toward the brothers of faith in the church.

The church environment is an environment where there is a lot of room for hurting each other and hurting each other if we do something wrong. So many people are actually hurt and hurt in the church. It is because we have not matured as much as we have high expectations between the saints. It is because we have been saved, but we are not yet completely freed from the evil nature of corrupt human beings. We should not work in the Spirit, boast in Christ, and trust in the flesh, but while sojourn in the world we are still working in the flesh, boasting in ourselves, and trusting in the flesh. As a result, there is plenty of room for hurting and conflicting with each other and turning our backs on us if we make a mistake. Therefore, we need to know that we have this weakness and learn to have pity on each other.

So we can get hurt in the church, but we shouldn't be stuck with it for long. With the power of love and forgiveness, we are wise to get rid of dangerous and harmful emotions quickly. You shouldn't be bound by it. God will pour out the blessings of mercy, the power to be compassionate, if we just work hard while seeking grace. So we can share the grace of overcoming hate with love.

In the world and society, we Christians must practice tolerance.

The world expects tolerance of Christians. But when tolerance is not practiced, the people of the world become disappointed and criticize.

God commands us to "make known your generosity to all men."

I am not saying that I should be tolerant to a certain close person or a specific person, but that everyone I come in contact with should know and feel my generosity. The Apostle Paul emphasizes everyone in today's text. In all people, there may be people who hate me, there may be people who oppose me in every way, and there may be people who hate me.

But those who believe in Jesus are also people. All of us are no different from the rest of the world. It's easy to be tolerant and not so easy. Even though we are people of faith who believe in Jesus, the Lord is well aware that tolerance is not easy. Since Paul is well aware of that, he tells us the basis for tolerating the way we are tolerant. The Apostle Paul teaches us that we have one secret to being tolerant at home, at church, and in the world.

The second half of verse 5 says, ?he Lord is good.??That's right. Tolerance is a difficult, heavy and difficult task that we simply cannot afford. But, given that the Lord is near, we can be tolerant. If the Lord is near, we can. If we believe that the Lord is near, we can do it.

The Lord is near both in space and time. In space He is very close to us, ready to help, and in time He is also near and coming soon. When the Lord is near, there is no need to be more excited, resentful, or stingy than necessary. Considering that Jesus is near, we can be tolerant.
