Title: Labor in Childbirth (Galatians 4:12-20)

toil of dissolution

Galatians 4:12-20

“God, Deacon Kim is too busy to attend the Sunday worship service. Please burn the two factories so that there is no inconvenience in our religious life!”

Surprised butler! It goes without saying that the deacon, who was waving his hands, attended the worship service next Sunday. Because they were much more afraid of setting fire to a factory than God.

Today Paul is reminiscing about the past.

See verses 13-14.

Paul had a weakness in the flesh. It was fatal for the evangelist. I'm not sure if it's eye disease, epilepsy, or the aftereffects of malaria, but I said that I also had thorns in my body.

Maybe it deserves the test of the heart. He couldn't even heal his soldiers--- What's wrong with the apostle! Is the Gospel Reliable? The looks aren't that great either! I'm not good at talking! Paul himself confessed to himself, ‘I’m lazy in speech---’ He wasn’t even an eloquent.

The saints did only tests. However, the Galatians did not ignore me or despise me, but rather treated me like an angel of God. He respected and loved Paul that much.

He was trying to get his eyes out if he could.

But the problem comes after Paul leaves. It is the fact that the faith of the saints did not last.

See verse 16.

“Am I then an enemy because I speak the truth to you?”

Paul's relationship with the Galatians is in a very bad state. It would have been just a good relationship if they had been left alone, no matter how they lived, but what Paul said because he was concerned about them changed their judgment and turned into a very bad relationship.

Why did this happen? What misunderstanding did it come from?

I'd rather it be.

Let me tell you something interesting. Everyone! Please visit our Taeeun Church website from time to time. It's fun. I read it in an article posted by a butler.

A church school teacher was teaching the children. The title of the lesson that day was ‘The Road to Heaven’. When the teacher asked the children, “Everyone, if I sell my house and donate all of it to the church, will I be able to go to heaven?” The children all answered, “No.”

Again, the teacher said, “Then, if I clean the church and wipe the windows every day, will I be able to go to heaven?” Again, the children answered “No” in unison this time.

So how do we get to heaven? I asked. Then a five-year-old boy jumped up and said in a loud voice, “Your teacher must die.”

As I read this article, I thought, 'Yes, there are many cases where a pastor has to die---'.

However, the problems of the church in Galatia today are not something that Paul could concede and understand.

It's about the essence of faith. It is a question of principles of faith.

Why did the first beautiful feeling of gratitude disappear? Because the gospel has changed. The gospel that Paul preached is fake. It is no longer a childish gospel realm, but a faith that fits the modern sense.

Is there anyone among us who worships with the thought that all we have to do is live a good life while believing in Jesus for decades?

What do you think is the most important thing in your faith?

Holy water on Sunday, tithing, evangelism by one person a year! It's really important. These are things we really need to bear in our faith. But you should not think that it is all about faith.

Even when I was in middle and high school, I felt a lot of guilt about going to the market on Sundays and spending money on what I seriously thought about at church. Are there people who feel guilty about these things now?

Then, what is the essence of believing in Jesus?

Today Paul is saying that the Galatians have fallen into a false lesson. It's a fundamentally different lesson. It is destroying the essence to the extent that it is called heresy.

Today you are enrolled in one-on-one parenting. Parents and companions must clearly know and confess the gospel for 16 weeks. What is fundamental?

1) It means that Jesus Christ came to this earth as a savior. Some say that it would be easy to admit that Jesus was a God, but it is difficult to believe in the virgin birth. So I'm going to leave it out and believe it. But if you don't believe it, it's heresy.

2) The issue of the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ is also important. Neither of these two can be given up. You must not believe in the divine image, and as a perfect human, you must not have the atonement of the blood of the cross.

3) You must believe that Jesus is physically resurrected. It is not a spiritual resurrection.

4) You must believe in the Second Coming. Reserving this and admitting only a part is heresy.

This is the Christian kerygma and is the foundation of the gospel.

You have to listen to a real lesson.

Apostolicity is also important. All Sunday worship services are connected through the Holy Spirit. what do you mean? Is it any different when you go to your hometown and have Sunday worship service? no. It's like. Every church must have the same gospel. In other words, apostolicity must have the homogeneity of the gospel. If I alone heard something special that I had never heard before, it would be a fake. Don't be fooled.

Today the Galatians have been deceived by untruth. Because other gospels came in, the homogeneity of faith was lost. Now you have become an enemy. If our beliefs change, we cannot do it together. No matter how successful you are at something that God is not pleased with, it is of no use even if you are zealous.

So Paul appeals. Turn to the Gospel!

Let's restore the relationship we had before through faith. It means that you will have to go through the trouble of disbanding again. The urgency of recovering from the corruption of faith is earnest for Paul.

Saints!

This is a dizzying time. Living by faith is not clear. At this time, you must be spiritually awake. It's time to stand firm in your faith.

Today Paul tells us to restore the relationship of love again. A love relationship is established and matured through fellowship. A love relationship without fellowship does not exist in this world. As the fellowship fades, the relationship becomes estranged and eventually breaks up.

We must restore the relationship of love with God through the right gospel.

A father kisses his son - “Stop it, leave me alone!” Why does the child reject his father?

“Why do you bother me when you say you don’t like my dad? Do you know how painful it is to rub your beard after drinking alcohol?”

Dad thinks. How much do you love me, say you hate me?

Why?

Because the channel of love is different. You need to know what kind of love your child wants. All children want the love of their parents. You want to have emotional stability. When you, parents, realize this, your children will grow up healthy.

A child who tries to avoid parental gaze is already emotionally anxious.

The basis of love is face-to-face. You have to make eye contact. Eyes are the most basic of fellowship. When the eyes of parents' love are piled up, they will grow up to be happy children.

Likewise, if you want to restore a deep loving relationship with God, you need to spend more time making eye contact with the Lord. Why do you keep avoiding God's eyes? Why are you avoiding the word of God? Why don't you listen?

The Christian growth stage can be divided into five stages.

4) This is the stage where you eat the Word. This is the stage to make the principles learned from the pastor into your own principles. Most of our spiritual needs are met through Bible reading and meditation, and we begin to feel the need and responsibility for the spiritual growth of others. I know how to look after others. it gets into your eyes.

5) This is the stage of feeding the Word to others. Now, as a teacher, as a minister, it is the stage where you act as someone's motivator. It is a stage in which you organize and reform your own faith, realize the importance of community, and meet the spiritual needs of others.

This is Ephesians 4:13 - “to the full measure of the stature of the stature of Christ.” At this time, the image of Christ is being formed in me.

I earnestly want our members to grow in faith and become lay co-workers of Taeeun Church. But you cannot become a co-worker when you have not yet grown up. You have to learn more and learn to deny yourself more.

Self-motivated commitment is never good for yourself or for others. Faith is life. We must not miss the essence of the gospel. We must be renewed by the Holy Spirit every day and live with the understanding that the Holy Spirit gives us.

I want to find someone who will stand firm in the Word for our Taeeun Church and do the hard work of disbanding. Don't be comfortable believing in Jesus. I wish you a recovery of your burning passion.
