The text speaks about the Lamb of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit that He will give. What is the Lamb of God? It means “sent by God” or “the sacrifice God has prepared for sinners”. This lamb becomes a sacrifice for the sacrifice of the dead and shed blood for the sinful life. He is the perfect, spotless and spotless, the mediator.
The Lamb of God is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world
What are you carrying? Leaving behind all that glory, we carry the ugly and dark burden of mankind's sins. To carry is to remove. Or He who took all our sins and went to death and threw them into Hell. The Lamb of God is the Lamb that takes away not only the sins of the Jews, but also the sins of the world. He willingly died on the cross as a suffering servant, like a lamb being led to the slaughter to take away our sins, like a lamb for the Passover.
who is carrying? Jesus carried the cross himself. It was a type of Jesus that Isaac had to carry the burden himself as a sacrifice on Mount Moriah. Jesus, the Son of God, Jesus, the Lord of heaven and earth, took the burden of sinners in his place.
The Lamb of God is worthy of a precious and pure sacrifice
The word “to see” means “to pay attention”, “to look carefully at”, or “to look inside”.
The Lamb of God is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit
When John the Baptist appeared as a prophet of God in Israel, where there had been no prophets for 400 years, crying out for justice and repentance like Elijah, thousands of people came out into the wilderness. At this time, Jesus also recognized John the Baptist as a prophet of God and came to be baptized by him. It was at this time that John the Baptist confessed and testified about Jesus at the most appropriate time.
First, he testified of Jesus, saying, “He is before me.” The deep meaning of those words is to testify to the pre-existence of Jesus. Jesus is greater than Abraham, Moses, and David, whom Israel is proud of, and He is the One who sent them. I confess that it is this Jesus who first sent me to go and baptize with water after seeing me. Second, he does not baptize with water, but directly with the Holy Spirit. John's baptism was water baptism, and he was active in the Jordan River, but Jesus' baptism was not just a token of being born again, but the gift of direct salvation. He is the life, and he is the giver of the Holy Spirit, not the blesser, but the blesser. Water baptism is a sign of washing away sins, and water baptism is a sign that Jesus is the Son of God.
