Title: Lamb of God/John 1:29-34
Content Lamb of God
John 1:29 - 34
John the Baptist was truly a great evangelist.
John the Baptist was the first to testify that Jesus was the Messiah.
(John 1:29) The next day, when John saw Jesus coming to him,
He said, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
(Matthew 11:11) Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not arisen one greater than John the Baptist, but the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than him.
On the previous day, he said to the priests and Levites who had come to him.
(John 1:26) John answered, I baptize with water, but there stands among you a man whom you do not know (John 1:27), who is coming after me, and I am not worthy to untie his sandals.
But Jesus came directly to John. At this time, John the Baptist
Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
I testified of Jesus.
When we, too, want to testify of Jesus, there must be content. In its contents
1) Who is Jesus?
2) What did Jesus do?
3) How can we receive Jesus?
The three messages must be clear.
John the Baptist points to Jesus
He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
The lamb here has two meanings.
1. It means the Passover lamb.
The Passover is well described in Exodus 12.
To save the Israelites from slavery in Egypt
God sent Moses to Pharaoh king of Egypt to ask that the Israelites be sent out to sacrifice to God in the wilderness.
But Pharaoh did not listen to Moses.
At this time, God sent ten plagues on Egypt to break Pharaoh.
The last and tenth plague was the destruction of all the firstborn in Egypt.
All Egypt killed the firstborn of men as well as the firstborn of beasts.
It was a terrible disaster.
But God had to save the people of Israel from this calamity.
In the house of Israel, the blood of a lamb was sprinkled on the doorposts.
It is said that a house that obeyed God's word and killed a lamb and put its blood on the doorpost could avoid the calamity of the death of the firstborn.
what's important here
Did you believe the word of God and put the lamb's blood on the doorpost or not? It is the question of whether the firstborn of the household is dead or alive.
In the house where only the word of God was believed and the blood of the lamb was applied to the doorpost of the house, the angel passed by that house, and the firstborn son did not die and was saved.
Jesus died as a substitute for the Passover lamb by His blood.
He saved us from dying.
2. Lamb means sacrifice.
John the Baptist said that Jesus was the Lamb of God, like the sacrifice offered to God in the temple every morning and evening in the Old Testament times.
It was a prophecy that He would become a sacrifice for us.
(Exodus 29:38) This is what you will offer on the altar.
two lambs
The Israelites offered sacrifices to God in the morning.
For the forgiveness of all sins, a lamb was sacrificed and its blood was sacrificed.
The sacrifice is our Jesus.
John the Baptist said that Jesus did not come to be a conqueror, a philosopher, or a moral man, but only as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
He clearly testified that He came to save sinners.
Jesus also
(Luke 5:32) I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
He said, "I have come to repent."
The penalty for sin is death.
(Romans 3:10) As it is written, There is none righteous, not even one.
Everyone is a sinner. There is none righteous, not even one.
Sin brings us pain, suffering, and ultimately death.
Man cannot escape from this death unless he solves the problem of sin.
No one can erase their own sins.
No matter how many good deeds you do, your sins will not go away.
Even if you earnestly believe in another religion, your sins cannot be forgiven.
Only God can forgive sins.
Only God judges man.
No one can claim to be righteous before God's judgment.
Since all people have no choice but to die under sin, God wants to save the children of God whom He loves.
He sent his only begotten Son, Jesus, to this earth as a sacrificial Lamb.
All who believe in the blood of the Lamb have their sins forgiven.
(1 Peter 2:24) He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sins and live to righteousness.
As the Savior who took away the sins of the world, Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His precious blood for all Gentiles as well as Jews.
And Jesus is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.
In verses 33-34, John the Baptist also testified that Jesus was the ?쐀aptizer of the Holy Spirit,??but it seems that he did not know that Jesus was the Son of God at first. That is why I said twice in verses 31 and 33 at the beginning of the text, ?쏧 did not know him either.??God said to John, "When you see the Holy Spirit come down and remain on anyone, know that he is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit."
When John the Baptist baptized Jesus with water, he saw the Holy Spirit resting on Jesus' head like a dove and immediately said, "This is the Messiah we have been waiting for."
And they came to testify that Jesus was the Son of God.
Holy Spirit baptism is different from water baptism.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is given only by Jesus, who is the head of the church.
This baptism is the same as regeneration, and it is not the baptism of the body, but the baptism of the heart, which is absolutely necessary for salvation.
You cannot be saved without receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
When the Lord was crucified, the thief who repented on the cross
Although I did not receive water baptism, I received this baptism in the Holy Spirit that the Lord gave me.
It is not necessary to receive or not receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but only when we receive this baptism, we can truly realize our sins and repent, and receive Jesus Christ as our true Savior.
Only then will we be regenerated and become the true people of God.
Only then will salvation be achieved.
Is it a saint who has received the baptism of the Holy Spirit or a saint who has not?
When things get difficult, you know.
A person who has been regenerated comes closer to God when things are difficult.
Those who are not regenerated will leave God and lose their faith.
Dear saints, Have you ever experienced difficulties?
In the midst of such difficulties, instead of blaming God, in earnest prayer,
Have you ever waited and waited for help?
Regenerated saints are those who have been baptized with the Holy Spirit
In the midst of tribulation and persecution, we do not forsake the Lord until the end, look only at the cross, hold on to the Lord and overcome difficulties.
This is impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit.
Also
Those who evangelize in their lives have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Those who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit have Jesus Christ in them.
I can't help but tell you.
Then how do we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
You just need to meet Jesus right away. Just believe in Jesus right away.
Jesus is God.
He, who is God, forsaken the glory of heaven and came to this low and low earth in human form to save us from our sins.
Jesus died to save us from our sins
He came as the Passover Lamb.
He who was without sin was crucified.
Jesus died on the cross for me, and through His blood
Can you believe that all my sins are forgiven?
do you really believe
Hallelujah!
This fact is unbelievable except by the Holy Spirit.
Believers in the cross of the Lord
Please believe that you have been baptized with the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 8:1) Therefore, now to those who are in Christ Jesus,
there is never condemnation
(Romans 8:2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.
The moment you believe in the cross of Jesus
Through the blood of Jesus, my sins have been completely forgiven.
Hallelujah !
(John 1:12) To those who received him, to those who believed in his name,
He has given you the power to become children of God.
Those who accept Jesus will change in that moment and become a new person.
From a self-centered life to a God-centered life now.
Because the most important concern in life becomes God's work
I feel that worshiping in front of God is more important than anything in the world, so I do not miss the time of worship, and even in my daily life
It becomes a life of God-centered, Word-centered, and church-centered life.
If you do not receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit even after several years of church life,
Because we cannot taste the thrill and joy of salvation, the life of faith is difficult and difficult.
Worship time is boring and there is no joy or emotion.
However, when you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, your life of faith is easy and fun.
Those who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit wait for the service time.
We work hard in prayer and go on to serve the church with a happy heart.
You become God's true servants who do evangelism even if no one else asks you to do it.
When I believe and confess that Jesus is my Savior
I am no longer under sin.
I can feel the Lord being with me.
You will find true rest and peace in the Lord.
Enjoy the thrill of salvation and the happiness of the Lord always being with you.
Because Jesus is with me
Now we have been freed from the power of death and have received eternal life.
When we pray, we ask in faith and we will see the answer to that prayer.
God's guidance and protection.
You will enjoy the blessings of God's children on this earth.
Jesus is the Lamb of God who came for me.
Praise be to Jesus Christ, who came as the Lamb at this hour.
Jesus is my life.
Therefore, now you are the master of our life
I want to live for Jesus.
Now I am a debtor to the love of Jesus.
I want to live for Jesus.
I want to do the Lord's will.
