Title: Law and Grace/Romans 3:19-31
◎ Bible text: Romans 3:19-31
Law and grace (the mirror of the law and the cremation of grace)
Without a mirror, you wouldn't know what you look like, you wouldn't know how ugly it is if you had a slanted nose, and you wouldn't know how badly it was if your eyes were paired, and you wouldn't know that it's ruining your face.
I put on my makeup and looked in the mirror and said, 'Oh! Pretty!' and smiles happily. However, the role of the mirror is to show it as it is, but it cannot play another role. I can't get rid of it or squeeze it out because my face in the mirror has blemishes or cracks. It cannot change an ugly face into a handsome face. If you look in the mirror before makeup, you will see the image before makeup, and after makeup, you will see only the image after makeup.
Take a look now. Maybe the moment I look in the mirror, my figure turns into a fairy(?)
Today, looking in the mirror and listening to the sermon, I want to explain in detail the law and grace that God has given us, so that you do not get confused in your religious life, and that you can lead a joyful and joyful life of faith.
Quite a lot of Christians are living their life of faith without being pleasant. If I don't do it, I'm afraid I'll go to hell, or I think there's something I've come so far, but it's a waste to have believed so far to give up now, and I'm not having much fun doing it, so would it be a pleasant life of faith?
What is the most boring thing in your life of faith? According to the Bible, why there are so many things to do and so many things not to do! Even the pastor doesn't let you do things that aren't in the Bible, so don't smoke. Do not drink. I believed in Jesus because I wanted to feel more comfortable, and it became even more uncomfortable.
Even Jesus prayed in the morning, but Jesus prayed in the morning, so we should do it every day! There is only one thing that Jesus prayed all night long, but Jesus said it, so we do it every Friday! No matter how much you memorize the Ten Commandments, you can't keep them, so memorize them!
When I think of Jesus dying on the cross for my sins, I am grateful for the grace of the true God, but when I look at the commandments, it feels like all the grace is poured out. My head hurts and I'm confused.
Today, let's take a mirror and solve this problem so that we can lead a pleasant life of faith in the future.
What is the law or commandment? The law is God's rule that a person must live in this way to become perfect. In order to live with God, a person must be righteous like God. To become righteous, one must keep the commandments of the law as they are. If one violates any of these commandments, he becomes a criminal before God, and in return receives God's wrath, death or destruction. arrives.
This law was given to people through Moses, and according to the law, people were very serious. For people, it was a total sin. In light of the commandments, none of them were properly kept, and there was nothing to be said for receiving God's wrath because of it. But what's even more serious is that the violations so far are unavoidable. This is because human nature has already been completely hardened to the point of being unable to keep it. Think about it. When I say "don't be greedy", does that mean that you're not being told not to be greedy? When I see people living in nice houses, don't I feel greedy to live in that kind of house?
I said "don't have lust", but when I saw a muscular man, Oh man! And is there a woman who covers her face with her hands and doesn't spread her fingers? I saw a seductive woman! What rotten fish is passing over there! Do you have a man to do?
All kinds of covetousness, desire, hatred, anger, envy, jealousy, etc. are fully established and solidified in the nature of man. This cannot be taken off.
Paul says: "I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. I have the will to do good, but I do not do it. I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want. If I do the wrong thing, it is not me who does it, but a sin that has settled in me. Here I have discovered a rule: I try to do good, and evil is attached to me. delight in the law of God, but I see another law in my members, which fights against the law of my heart, and makes me captive to the law of sin which is in my members. Oh, I am a miserable man, who in this body of death Will you rescue me? (Romans 7:18-24)
In my heart, I want to live according to God's law, but I can't. In front of the law, people can only despair and groan.
God made people know how serious their sins are by giving them the law. So the law was a mirror for my sins.
Verse 20, “Therefore, by the works of the law no flesh is justified before him [God], by the law the knowledge of sin.” It just doesn't solve any sins.
However, God has forgiven us by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our many sins, so that we can be recognized just as we keep the law.
Romans 8:1-4 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what was impossible, God did, by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and on account of sin, condemned sin in the flesh, that the requirements of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.”
“It is to fulfill the requirements of the law.” That is, even if you do not live according to the law, if you believe in Jesus, you will be recognized just like you are living according to the law.
Verse 22 “the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, without distinction.” What is this? If you believe in Jesus, you become righteous, and it is said that this righteousness is not different from God's righteousness. Can you believe it? Guys, we have become like God. Well! Are you dreaming? Are you live?
23-24 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by the grace of God through the atonement that is in Christ Jesus."
This was by the grace of God. That is, for free. Romans 5:1 says, "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death."
This is the Christian's grace. Blessing. It is given by faith. You just have to enjoy it.
The law only showed sin like a mirror, but it did not solve it. However, God cleared it up with a cosmetic called grace. Grace's cosmetics has this notice attached. "Grace Cosmetics" Ingredients: 100% Jesus' blood, Manufacturer: Kingdom of God, Manufacturer: God. Price: Free
Even if you don't keep the troublesome law, it's just like keeping the law, so now the troublesome problem has been solved! My head throbbed just by looking at it, but by believing in Jesus, I fulfilled all the requirements of the law and became righteous. But the problem is that the law is still there. Some even say, What is the need for the law in the Age of Grace?
But the Bible says, "Do we then break the law through faith? It cannot be, but rather it establishes the law" (31).
Jesus said, "Not one jot or one jot will pass away until heaven and earth pass away" (Matthew 5:18).
Even if we do not keep the law, we are justified, but why do we have to have the law? The reason is that those who know and don't know the fact that it surprises us so much. It is to continue and be filled with the grace we have received, and to lead a pleasant life of faith.
There is a characteristic of the mirror of the law. Look at yourself in your mirror. The face reflected in the mirror reflects the beauty of makeup in the morning as it is, but the mirror of the law strangely shows moisture as it is before applying makeup with Grace Cosmetics. If you look in the mirror of the law, it is immediately revealed that you are a sinner.
We are happy to have this mirror of the law. Grace is more abundant. why?
1. It makes me more grateful for God's grace! (Look in the mirror.-Is it pretty?)
Just look at the ten commandments. Which one did you keep properly? But think of it as being justified by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus. thank you don't thank you If you don't thank you, you're not a person!
2. Because it makes you believe in Jesus even more!. (Look in the mirror and imagine yourself before putting on makeup. You will think you did a good job putting on makeup.)
When I see my atrocious sins reflected in the mirror of the law, I can't get away from Jesus. If you think that what the law wanted through Jesus, you can't separate yourself from Jesus. How pretty it is to cover all blemishes, freckles, blemishes, and blemishes with makeup!
3. Because it makes you dedicate yourself to God with a grateful heart!
It's the same principle. Looking at the image of a sinner reflected in the mirror of the law, thinking that God washed away their sins purely and free of charge, I have no choice but to dedicate myself to God. Do it with all your might There's nothing bad about it.
4. The law makes me humble.
Look in the mirror. Are you pretty? Don't brag. It's makeup. It is the makeup of grace that I have been cleansed, so I have nothing to brag about because I am righteous.
Verse 27, "Where then is there to boast? There is no room for it. By what law? By works? but only by the law of faith."
5. The law makes me live a life of repentance every day.
look in the mirror Has anyone ever slept a lot and got puffy? It's ugly, so now I have to sleep less on Sundays and go to the early morning prayer meeting! If you don't have a mirror, you'll wake up later next week!
I looked in the mirror of the law and said, "Wow, that's wrong! No, I have to fix it!" "God forgive me. I won't do that now!" and make them repent. Then the Holy Spirit knew yes. If you do, emotions will flood into my heart. If there is no law, if you bathe them like pigs, they will go to shit again and roll around.
Saints! The law does not make me clean, but its role is very important. Because it always shows me the sinner I used to be, no more or less, so that I can realize the grace of God!
Therefore, just as we often look in the mirror, we often look in the mirror of the law to thank God, strengthen our loosened faith in Jesus, increase the intensity of our devotion to God, humble ourselves more, and repent of wrongdoing through the law. So you can always have a new experience.
Those who know the meaning of the law have no time to sin. Because we don't have enough time to give thanks to God because we are happy looking in the mirror of the law, and to dedicate ourselves to it! So, how can a religious life not be pleasant? Not having fun!
