Blessing Law (September 18)
(Proverbs 3:1-10)
law of blessing
(Proverbs 3:1-10)
Wherever people live, there are laws that must be followed. If you obey the law well, there will be peace and order. Christians are the people of the kingdom of God. There are laws in the kingdom of God. We call this the Heavenly Law. A Christian can live a successful life if he obeys the laws of heaven.(...) Even those who obey the laws of the world cannot experience the blessings and grace of God if they do not keep the laws of God.(.. .)
How do you live your life? Do you think that if you live according to the Bible, you may lose money? God provides power to those who live according to God's law. Today's text teaches King Solomon how to receive God's blessing. When God's people keep this law, they will receive abundant blessings in everything. Through the text, we would like to examine who is the ‘keeper of the law of blessing’ and what kind of blessings they will receive.
① Keep my laws and commands (1-2)
Those who follow God's law do not sin. does not fall. Not indulging. Don't be discouraged if you fail. The Word of God is a law and a commandment. It is a lesson of wisdom and a command. If we put this in the center of our thoughts and keep it, it will give us the blessing of longevity. Peace of mind, prosperity, stability, and happy days will come. (...) As John 14:15 says, if you love, you will obey the words of those you love.
② Keep mercy and truth in your heart (3-4)
If you live in the truth and be kind, you will receive grace and value.(...) When family and relatives gather like Chuseok, it is especially important to tolerate and forgive each other. If we live with kindness and truth, God is on our side.
③ Acknowledge God in everything (5-6)
A person can know the past, but cannot predict the future 10 minutes from now. Those who acknowledge God in all things can enjoy the prosperous blessings God gives them. If we entrust the meaning of our life and all paths to God, God will guide us.
④ Fear God and shun evil (7-8)
Humans must have faith to fear God. (...) If we fear God and live only by relying on Him, there will be stability and peace, and our mind and body will be strong.
⑤ Honor God with the first fruits (9-10)
Even though it seems that people do everything on their own, nothing works out without God's help. The first fruits are the acknowledgment of God's ownership and dominion. Amen
