“Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven!”
Matthew 6:19-23
<The person who uses the substance directly is the owner of the right personality>
In the old days, our ancestors evaluated a person's character and character based on two criteria.

Wesley says this about money
"Earn as much as you can. Save as much as you can. Give as much as you can"
There are three joys in money.

But the greatest joy of these three is spending money wisely. For our needs, for the benefit of society, for the kingdom of God, we cannot be so proud after we spend it wonderfully. I hope that you can enjoy the joy of earning money rightly, the joy of saving, and the joy of using right away.
<It is healthy if the substance is used immediately>
A university announced the results of a survey of the longevity factors of the elderly over 100 nationwide for one year from December 1999. The subjects of the survey were 507 elderly people.

Text 6:19-23 also speaks about material things.
First, in verses 19 and 20, there is an expression 'for you' - Matter exists for man, not man for matter.
If you work hard to earn money and lose your health, character, love, and faith, you are truly a fool.
If money is the goal, then you start to be unhappy. That money makes you anxious and worried. You lose your freedom and leisure. You will be at odds with your neighbours.
Second, God <warns of the vanity of material things>
Matthew 6:19
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break through and steal."
1> Money solves the problem of food, clothing, and shelter, so it brings material stability

Now, life has become a burden for that money.
The riches of this earth are bound to disappoint people by their nature. And yet, isn't wealth the purpose of your life?
<Life becomes happy when you live for God.>

Even if it is difficult, you can live happily.
Second, he commands us to use our substances properly.
Verse 20: “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…”
This verse is not about giving up and not having treasures. He told them to store them in a place where moth and rust cannot harm them, and where thieves cannot enter.
1> This word means not to be too attached to the riches of this world.
2> It means to spend money on things that God will remember.
In the history of mankind, there are countries where God has entrusted us with the mission of 'Preaching the Gospel' and has been able to fulfill them. Rome, England and America.
“Their common characteristic was when those nations were most powerful and wealthy when they were on mission.”
1> Rome, who received the Gospel from the Apostle Paul, was AD. From around the 4th century, after receiving the mission of evangelism, he established churches wherever he went in the world and revitalized the churches so that the country 100% believed in God. Wherever they went, they created a Christian nation. Rome has been blessed for at least 1000 years.
2> After that, the British accepted the gospel preached by Rome and began to preach it. Missionary Thomas came to Korea in 1886, and England sent the missionary Thomas. Britain was the first to do missionary work in China. The British took charge of the mission of the world, and they worked diligently for at least 500 years. This was the time when Britain was at its most prosperous.
3> God blesses missionary nations and families. He raises us up for missions, gives us material for missionary work, and gives us political stability and economic stability for missionary work. Missionary culture develops. A missionary citizen has become the world's most respected citizen.
4> Then, as the gospel crossed over to the United States in the 17th century, the United States became economically and politically stable. In 1884, missionaries Allen, Underwood, and Appenzela were sent to Korea to inherit the British mission. Hundreds, thousands of Americans, and missionaries went and preached the gospel, and God poured out the rain of grace on the land. I believe that the reason God has especially blessed the United States is because of missionary work.
<Working for the Lord like evangelism and missionary work is to lay up treasures in heaven.>
The Bible especially tells us to have pity on the underprivileged, such as orphans, widows, the elderly, and those with handicap who cannot make money on their own. He commanded evangelism and evangelism. Use material for people who can't study because they don't have money. It is an eternal investment that God remembers.
