Title: Put down the heavy load
Bible: Matthew 11:28-30
2008.3.22.daytime
For the past 3 weeks, I have been visiting Spring vs. In the next week or so, almost everyone will have an atrium. In the meantime, I hope that the families receiving the visitation will be victorious with the words God has given to each family this year. Also, please believe that all of your prayer requests have been answered.
During the visit, I found two things in common between the families.
The first is that there was a desire to believe everything well.
The other thing was that every family had more than one difficult burden.
So I realized that I should pray for the saints more.
Let's read the text of today's text together, accepting it in the depths of our hearts with faith.
Verse 28, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
In the Lord today, I hope that you will lay down all the burdens that torment and torment you and find rest.
1. I need to know what kind of burden I am carrying.
First, I need to know what burden I am carrying. Without knowing the burden, there is no way to rest.
A patient came to the hospital. the doctor asked. 'Where did you come from?' 'It hurts all over the place.' At that time, the doctor said, 'Point out where it hurts,' and he said that when he pressed his finger on his head, his head hurts, his chest hurts when he pressed his chest, and his knees hurt when he pressed his knees. did it.
Then the doctor took a closer look and treated the finger. ‘It’s all right,’ and he cautioned. For the time being, do not use this finger and use another finger. And when the patient came home, touched his head, touched his chest, and touched his knee, there was no pain. Everything was really good. The patient did not have a headache or chest pain, but rather a finger pain.
Dear saints, What is the burden that bothers you?
Is it a money issue? Is it your children's problem? Are you in conflict with your husband? Are you having trouble with your mother-in-law? Or is it a health problem? If you put all of these things together, they are the problems of the flesh. These have become burdens that torment and torment me.
Now that you know the reality, solving it is simple.
All of them are directly related to spiritual matters. When the spiritual problem is solved, all of this will be solved. It's not a headache, it's not a heartache, it's a pain in the soul like a finger hurts. Therefore, you must first obtain rest for your soul. The body is governed by the spirit, and the spirit is governed by the Spirit of God.
<1 John 2:15-17> “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, for all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. All are not from the Father, but come into the world. This world and its lusts pass away, but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
Throw away empty hands
A long time ago in a monastery, a disciple said to his master. "I came to the teacher with empty hands." “Then throw it away now.” "How can I throw it away? I'm empty-handed." "You can own the very thing that you have nothing. You carry your renunciation like a trophy. Don't throw away your possessions, but give up your ego."
That's right. That self becomes my heavy burden and only appears in various phenomena of reality.
Then how can we obtain that spiritual rest?
2. Everyone must come to Jesus.
To come to Jesus means to bring that heavy burden to Jesus and leave it on him. Then Jesus will give you rest.
my luggage bag
It happened on 6.25. On the evacuation route, an old woman with a bag of luggage ran into a truck while evacuating. The truck driver picked up the old woman. The old lady got into the car and said thank you. The car rides the aunt with excitement and runs. However, the article found that the old woman was still carrying a bag of luggage on her head. So, let the driver put down the lady's luggage. When I said that, the old woman said, "I'm grateful that I get in this car, but I can't do that because I put my luggage down." it would be
If you come to Jesus, you must entrust all these burdens to Jesus.
“Cast all your anxieties on the Lord. for he cares for you.”
“If I bring the burden of all my trials before the Lord Jesus, he will take care of my troubled days and take on all my troubles. Only Jesus, the Lord of grace, who will take pity on me and save me when I fall because I cannot bear it.”
“When my burdens get heavier and heavier, if I call on the Lord Jesus, the Lord Himself will rescue me and carry the burden for me. Only Jesus, the Lord of grace, who will take pity on me and save me when I fall down, carrying a heavy burden alone.”
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Then the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus is the Spirit. Our spiritual problems are solved only when we come to Jesus, who is the Spirit and our Savior. Jesus came to solve all our spiritual and physical problems and to save us. So, please leave it to Jesus.
3. Put on the yoke Jesus gave you.
Now that I have come to Jesus, I have to lay down my burden on him, entrust it to him, and put on the yoke that Jesus gave me.
The yoke is usually heavy. And it binds freedom. It's incredibly cumbersome to me. But Jesus said that my yoke is easy and light. What the hell is that yoke? If you look closely at today's text, you will find out what that yoke is. What is? It is meekness and humility.
What is that meekness and humility? The dictionary meaning is as follows.
* Gentleness = Gentle and soft in nature.
* Humility = an attitude that exalts others and humbles oneself
pick out your character
Even if I listen to a worldless sermon, hear a gracious testimony, mourn and repent, even if I have a fervent experience of the Holy Spirit, what is the reason why one disposition is not removed? Because they don't have the heart of Jesus.
This is our new yoke. It is hard to carry it alone, but it is light when I am with the Lord. If you try to carry it with your physical strength, it will be heavy, but if you carry it with your spiritual power, it will be light.
Dear saints,
Many of life's troubles and burdens come from the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
That's why the Hebrew writer said, "Let us lay aside every burden and the burden of sin that so easily entangle us, and let us soon run the race set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
conclusion
Now, dear believers who came to church today and worshiped God!
Please bring all your worries, worries, and concerns to Jesus and leave it to us. And when you go back, please don't go back on your back.
If you take on the yoke of Jesus Christ and follow the Lord with meekness and humility, you will find true peace and rest that the Lord has given you. I sincerely pray that your body and soul may find rest in the Lord.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
