live a blessed life
John 10:10
A middle school girl who was angry with her parents' divorce ran away from home and wandered for 5 years. And at the age of 21, "I'm lonely. I can't see the way." He ended the group suicide by leaving a will. On the other hand, Kim Hee-jeong, who was the head of a girl, caring for her grandmother and younger brother who had heart disease, passed Kyunghee University. When Kyung Hee University found out about this fact, it provided dormitory for four-year scholarship students for free, and some companies promised sponsorship. Some ended up with a cursed life, and some made a blessed life. Faith is knowing how to choose the good from the crossroads of positive and negative, blessing and curse.
But the problem is when the path to blessing is not immediately visible. Do you know the parable of the prodigal son? Only after the prodigal son leaves the house and becomes a beggar do he realize that his father's house is a blessed place. Balaam knows that it is God's will to refuse King Balak's request to curse Israel, but he goes that way with greed and is later killed. A brother who had a big fight over the holidays decided not to see each other again, but after many years they reconciled. Writer Gong Ji-young did not understand her mother's advice to shake off her sorrows when she was greatly desperate for a divorce. However, over time, they eventually discover that sadness can be overcome. It is necessary to discover the path of blessing as early as possible. You must get into the habit of blessing. That's how Jesus bought it.
Jesus found happiness in discovering the providence of God in nature. Also, he opened his heart and approached the tired fishermen who couldn't catch fish. He also wept over the death of Lazarus. He knew how to empathize with the pain of others. He also forgave the woman who had committed adultery. You have a warm heart to build people up. He lived with pride as the sons of God and told us to live as light and salt. He forgave those who mocked him even at the moment of death. The reason that the Lord was able to live like this is because he first lived an abundant life (John 10:10). There is a saying that good fortune comes through the door of joy. A positive mind in the Holy Spirit ultimately brings happiness.
The evidence that the Lord lived a blessed life is shown in the Lord's success. Although the Lord ended his short life of 33 years with a tragic death on the cross, there are still thousands of people who are loyal to the Lord and follow Him 2,000 years later. This is success. The reason people differ from the Lord is because He lived for the happiness of mankind. Covering up the sins of the adulterous woman, eating with a sinner, laying hands on the body of the widow's son in Nain, performing the miracle of five fish, and even enduring death on the cross in spite of contempt saves the soul. It was intended. This heart appears in today's text, saying that the Lord came so that the sheep might have life and have it more abundantly. Those who realize this are devoting themselves to the Lord. Success is not about earning a lot of money and living a healthy, comfortable life, it is about getting people. If you are in the church and are gaining the trust of people and having a good influence on them, then you are living a successful life. To move people, you have to sacrifice like Jesus. You have to be interested in others.
The evidence that the Lord lived a blessed life is that he received the honor of sitting at the right hand of God. The Lord lived a short life on this earth, but the glory He has received is eternal. Deacon Stephen's face was shining and happy even in the face of death because he saw the glory of the Lord at the right hand of God. Many people dream of a so-called “jackpot” on this earth, but the true blessing is not success on earth. Even if you have little money and have difficulties, if you live a life that pleases God, live in the hope of heaven, and enjoy eternal life in heaven, that is a blessed life.
At the beginning of the 20th century, an American missionary named Henry Morrison returned home after 40 years of African missionary work. President Roosevelt was also on his ship, who was returning home from some political missions and hunting. At the port, a large crowd greeted President Roosevelt with fanfare. However, by the time this missionary disembarked, the red carpet had been lifted and there was nothing but silence. As he left the harbor, he wept, "God, is this the result of my 40 years of dedication?" At this time, the voice of the Lord was heard. “Son! You haven't returned home yet. On the day you return to your hometown, not with fanfare, but with the trumpet of a heavenly angel, laying a golden road instead of a red carpet, I will personally meet you!”
