Title: Live Good and Righteousness
Contents
If a man knows how to do good and does not do it, it is sin (James 4:17).
Some say that the good life is 'physical' and therefore satisfies the needs of the body. Others say that the good life is “material,” and means owning more than others. But the good life is more “moral,” “ethical,” and “spiritual.” Because what is good is what is good.
The word ‘good’ comes from an ancient Anglo-Saxon word meaning ‘God’. The word “Good-bye” comes from the word “God be with you.”
People can see who they are in themselves, but in order for others to know about a person, they must see the person's actions. Proverbs 20:11 says, “Even a child reveals his humanity by his works. By the way he does, you can tell whether he is clean or unclean, right or wrong” (New Standard Version).
Being good is not something to be done for a short time, it is something to be pursued for a lifetime. A personal person lives under the guidance of 'good' that makes us ask, "What is the right thing to do?" in every situation.
Some people think that lines are a ‘head problem’. So, they talk about the importance of education and argue that improving the level of education is the answer. But an education that raises the head without emphasizing the integrity of the heart raises smart and wicked people.
As Harvard University's Robert Cabot once said, "Knowledge is ethically neutral." Crimes committed by intellectuals have far-reaching adverse effects.
Some people say that the line is ‘a matter of the hand’. So it is said that goodness is being kind to others. But even a death row inmate who has committed a heinous crime wants to be kind to the one he loves. Therefore, it cannot be said that the act of being nice to someone is good.
‘Good’ is ‘a matter of the mind’. Jesus said, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil person brings forth evil out of the evil stored up in his heart” (Luke 6:45).
Francis Bacon said, “Of all virtues and qualities of the mind, good is the greatest. Goodness is the character of God. Without it, a person is nothing more than an abomination of bustling and harming.”
After a racquetball player named Ruben Gonzalez became the winner, he battled hard for his fourth title as champion. A powerful shot was sent from the match point situation, and the referee and one of the two assistant referees declared no problem.
Now, with the development of broadcasting equipment, it is possible to verify whether the judgment of the referee is right or wrong. But in many sporting events, you can see famous players who only follow the referee's decision even though they know it's so obviously wrong. They can win another game at any time, but they should know that the lost integrity cannot be recovered.
The poem "The Man in the Mirror" by Dale Wimbrow teaches us what is important in doing good.
“Whoever makes the most important decisions in your life is
It's the person looking at you in the mirror.
If you can't look straight at the person in the mirror
He will tell you that you are just a gangster.
don't mind everyone else
He is the one you should give joy to.
If you made the person in the mirror your friend
You have passed the most dangerous and difficult test.”
Life is short, so don't deceive yourself, do good, and be a good person. Then you will surely lead a good life.
Application: Be the right person and try to do the right thing.
