Title: Learn from the Eagle

learn from the eagle

Text - Isaiah 40:31

40:31 But those who wait for the LORD will find new strength; they will soar up with wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary, they will walk and not get weary.

<Introductory words>

In the animal kingdom, the lion is the prince of the earth, the eagle is the prince of the sky. According to bird researchers, there are three ways birds fly.

The first is to flap your wings and fly. Most small birds fly like this. It flaps its wings about 70 times per second. So it can't fly far.

The second is to soar high on the wings. Most large birds. But it won't last long.

Studying eagles, I was very impressed. The charm of the eagle is soaring soaring with its wings high in the sky. So the eagle is the epitome of triumph, soaring high in the sky and enjoying freedom.

<Word and Sharing>

The text given to us today explains the eternal God, Jehovah, to be their God to Israel, who are discouraged that their hope has been cut off, and the blessings of God that will come to those who wait for (hope, look, and depend on) that God. It's content.

If so, how can we live a blessed life of faith like an eagle today?

First, God tells us that we need the courage to overcome our wounds like an eagle.

The normal lifespan of vultures is 40 years, but vultures that overcome wounds are said to live up to 70 years. The speed of an eagle is 120 km/h, but when it finds its prey, it is said to be well over 160 km/h.

And it is said that the eagle does not tire him no matter how far away, no storm disturbs him, and the higher the wind blows, the higher he soars. In order to become a victor in the sky like this, you must overcome many trials and wounds.

One day, wounded young eagles gathered on a cliff. An eagle that failed a flight test, an eagle ostracized by a partner, or an eagle cut off by an enemy, they thought that no eagle in the world could be as badly wounded as they were. They agreed that living was worse than dying.

At this time, the hero of the eagles, who was watching from the watchtower, hurried down and stood in front of them.

“Why do you want to commit suicide?”

“It’s painful. I'd rather die."

said the heroic eagle.

“What am I like? You don't think there's a single wound? But take a look at my body.”

As the heroic eagle spread its wings, slash marks appeared here and there.

“Now I am the captain of the eagle, but I also suffered a lot of wounds when I was young. This is a cut from a branch during the flight test, this is a hunter's gunshot wound, this is a wounded attack by enemies, these are just wounds engraved on my body. But there are more scars on my heart. There are countless slash marks that have been torn to shreds in the heart.”

Then the heroic eagle spoke quietly.

“Wake up and fly. An eagle without a wound is just an eagle that was not born into the world. What bird is without a wound among us who live? Only the eagle that rises again can be victorious.”

Dear saints,

Only those who wash away the painful failures and wounds of the past and take on new challenges can become the victors who soar high in the sky like an eagle. What kind of setbacks and disappointments do you have? May you have the courage like an eagle and become a winner who makes scars into stars.

‘Like an eagle flapping its wings. I will rise up and walk with the Lord. in your love'

Second, God says, like the eagle, you need the courage to elevate your level to a higher level.

Eagles soar high into the sky when seagulls or crows come to fight, instead of fighting them. Then the seagulls or crows can't follow the eagle and go down. Some eagles soar at 37,000 feet (11,200 m). So the eagle becomes the victor in freedom high in the sky.

We need this kind of courage today too. As you raise your level, you can become a victor as free as an eagle.

We cannot control the situation, but we can control our reactions. 10% of my life is what happens to me, and 90% of my life is what I react to. When something frustrating or upsetting happens to you, ask yourself these questions. “Is this worth taking my power away?” The wrong phone calls, the recession, the stock price crash, these things shouldn't let me down. I must not let my surroundings control me.

Even if someone is prone to anger, you don't have to be discouraged by the situation. If he has a right to be angry, you have a right not to be offended. ‘Like water on a duck’s back,’ you need to be unaffected.

“You can tell what a person he is by looking at what he is angry about.” Therefore, your emotions should be controlled by character, not situation. If it is his tendency to get angry, then you should be not easily moved by it.

Some people think they are called to point out the shortcomings of others. They are always critical. You don't have to agree with them that you're not wrong. You don't have to try to prove you're right.

No matter how much you cater to their needs, they will still find something to criticize. Therefore, like Moses and David, we must show a higher response to entrusting ourselves to God.

This is the spiritual faith that soars high in the sky like an eagle. Eagles do not fight crows. You can only enjoy the freedom of victory by ascending high in the sky.

All around us, there are crows attacking us, and there are chickens and ducks. Don't get tired of fighting them shabby. When you climb high like an eagle, they can't follow you to torment you any more.

"You are an eagle." (Let's praise each other)

The essence of the eagle faith is that instead of trying to change the other person, I am changed. It's not that I go down to that person's level, it's a faith that goes up to the level God wants. The higher you go, the more God gives you great grace.

<Outgoing Words>

Dear saints,

Those who wait for the Lord, those who only look to the Lord and rely on Him will find new strength.

You will rise up in despair and despair as an eagle soars on its wings. In the midst of all tribulation and adversity, you will never get discouraged or despair, but will be refreshed and rise again. Like an eagle's mighty flapping of its wings, it says that it will soar toward the sky, overcoming all setbacks and adversity. It is said that in the power of divine grace, the world will be lifted up and ascended, and thus will ascend to the eternal heaven, the most holy place.

He also said, "Those who wait for the Lord will run and not get weary, they will walk and not get weary." This is not to say that no physical exhaustion comes upon God's people. It does not mean that any fatigue that wears us out will be easily restored by the power of God. Rather, it is a promise of perseverance to endure and overcome until the end.

No matter how difficult and difficult the task is, the drive to carry on without fear or hesitation, the perseverance to never get frustrated or despair in the face of obstacles, hindrances, or countless difficulties that make it impossible to achieve the purpose.

Even though all the world ridicules and slanders him, he says that the ability to continue to believe in God's promises and walk the path given to him with joy and confidence like Noah, who built the ark for 120 years, is the new strength that Jehovah grants. He says that in the end, we can become 'one that the world is not worthy of' (Hebrews 11:38).

As Psalm 103:5 says, “He renews your youth like an eagle.” I hope that we will all overcome the pain and wounds of trials and live a blessed life like the eagle who is born again as a prince in heaven. I hope you will soar vigorously like an eagle and live a life with God.
