Title: Lessons from Manna Text: Exodus 16:4-12
The Israelites crossed the Red Sea and headed south along the road through the wilderness, passing through Marah and Elim to the Wilderness of Sin. This was the 15th of February, one month after they came out of Egypt. Since it had been a month since the Israelites came out of Egypt, most of the food they had brought had run out. The Israelites who came out to the wilderness were conscious of the harsh living environment and began to feel anxious about the physiological desire to live among them. For humans, food is a basic element to sustain survival. Therefore, the lack of food inevitably acts as a threat to their survival. Now the Israelites began to complain to God for food. Exodus 16:3 ‘Then God promises to give food to the people of Israel. He woke up in the morning to gather the manna that fell on the ground, and sent quails in the evening so that the people who wanted meat could eat meat.
1. It shows that the subject of the life we meet is God, not me
2. He instructs us to know that we are living by God's grace every day.
3. Manna is a lesson to live with satisfaction.
In fact, humans are inherently possessive. However, if we do not control this possessiveness, we will forget both God and our neighbors, and we will only pursue our own interests and become caught up in greed. In this regard, the lesson that Manna ordinances teach us is that we should give up our greed for wealth and live contentedly. The Lord has also told us not to be greedy and to seek only our daily bread.
4. It is a lesson to live a diligent life every day.
