Lessons from Jericho
Text: Joshua 6:1-16
♣ Jericho for each person.
Even in our lives, there are times when we encounter the strong Jericho city. When we live on this earth, there are times when we face difficult problems that we cannot handle on our own. There are cases where we can't move forward an inch until we break them down.
This is 2 Chronicles 32:8. “… He who is with us is the LORD our God. He will surely help us and fight for us...” (2 Chronicles 32:8)
Just as Joshua conquered Jericho with God, we pray in the name of the Lord that we too will have a year of victory with God.
♣ Lesson of the day
First, if you stand still, you will collapse.
The people of Jericho believed that if the gates were tightly closed, they were safe, but they collapsed. You must pray hard, study hard, and work hard.
Second, he didn't say anything.
This is to draw attention to the sound of the priest's trumpet.
Complaining is the trumpet of Satan.
Third, never give up along the way.
They went around for six days and nothing happened, but on the seventh day, the people of Israel obeyed God's word and went around. Don't give up on the way.
Fourth, even if our thoughts are different, if we hold on to the Word and obey it, we will have victory.
In the human mind, this is an unthinkable operation. But they believed God's Word and put it into practice. And you win.
♣ Conclusion: In the new year of 2012, let's live an active life by relying on God who gave us a blessed year and obeying the Word. No matter how powerful you are, your passive and passive life will inevitably collapse. We pray with the belief that we can do all things in the Lord who gives us strength, and we believe that if we do it every day, amazing miracles will surely happen, and we will have a blessed life.
“Jesus said to him, ‘If it is possible,’ what do you mean? Nothing is impossible for those who believe” (Mark 9:23).
