Title: Lessons from the Wilderness Road 2

Contents

Date : 2010. 2. 28 ? Category : Sunday day sermons ? Text: Deuteronomy 8:1 - 10

Continuing from last week, we would like to have the second lesson of the wilderness road through the words of today's text. Clearly, I knew that what God tested through the people of Israel through 40 years of living in the wilderness was a test to check the people's obedience to God. In this time, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you will find out what the other lessons of the wilderness road are through verses 3 and 4 of the text and live the happiest life you can practice through all the lives that are given to you and me.

2. We must live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Verse 3-4

After all, money is what people want to have as the most powerful thing. In fact, people living in the age of capitalism are feeling that human worth is measured by more or less of wealth, and the phenomenon of human dehumanization or materialization is becoming more and more severe.

The sad reality is that even universities, which are the best educational institutions that need to prevent this tragic phenomenon, are gradually changing from an educational concept to a management concept, and money comes and goes for hiring professors and teachers. Non-educational and anti-educational arguments are even being raised about it. (The suicide case of a famous engineering college professor last Wednesday) If we had a contribution graduation system, students with skills who studied diligently would not be victimized in the entrance exam. .

The remedy for the ills of this age can only be found in the Word of God, the Creator and Ruler. We who live in this age must communicate the word of God with our lips, and especially, we must become the light and salt of the world by living a godly life that obeys the word of God. In other words, it means that our life of faith in Jesus itself should be a missionary of the gospel.

According to the way of fearing the Lord God, who works by the word, the law, the evidence, the precepts, and the commandments, we must long for the ordinances of God that are pure and righteous for eternity, and are sure and righteous than pure gold; will have to consider

In the name of Jesus, I earnestly pray that all of us have the heart of Jesus Christ who became flesh and dwelt among us, so that our dying souls will be healed, gain wisdom, enjoy spiritual joy, and our spiritual eyes will be enlightened.

In Acts 2, we see how great and great the power of God's word is through the saved people of the early Christians and the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:40 "In many other words Peter appeals to them and exhorts them to be saved from this evil age."

41 “Those who accepted Peter's sermons were baptized. On that day, the number of those who believed was three thousand.”

The word of God has such vitality. The word of God is the word of promise that is absolutely necessary in this evil generation and must be witnessed. Then, what is the grace that came to the early Christians through the Word of God and the filling of the Holy Spirit?

?The desire to gather more and more arises.

That's right. When we receive Jesus as our Savior, that is, when we become Christians, the Holy Spirit leads us to strive to gather together. So~~~

Ephesians 4:3 “You are one body in the Spirit with the bond of peace. Strive to be one, and keep peace among you.”

4 “You are one body. You have received the same Spirit, and you have one hope.”

The earnest desire to gather and to become one are the privileges given to Christians who know, hear, and believe in God's Word, and this is the ability that believers have. That is why, even at this time, we gather together to worship God, listen to His Word, and live the practice of life for this week.

?The earnestness for the word of God arises.

The Jews who had just entered the early church did not focus on anything else.

Acts 2:42 “People are taught by the apostles…”

Perhaps without the teachings of the apostles, the Jerusalem church could not have survived. The first thing those who listened to Peter's sermon and participated in the work of salvation entered the church and took the first step was to learn the word of God through the apostles. So~~~

1 Peter 2:2 “Like a newborn baby, long for the pure word. Then your faith will grow and you will be saved.”

Newborns must be fed on time. If the mother breaks the breastfeeding time even a little because she is busy or forgets it for a while, she will cry immediately. Just like this little child, you and I must have a longing for the Word of God. That earnestness is the heart that longs for the Word of God.

The original Greek word translated as samo here is 'epiposeo'. Here ‘Poseo’ means longing and ‘Epi’ means repeating like an echo. So, the original interpretation of epiposeo means ‘longing, longing and longing.

In Matthew 4, among the three temptations that came after Jesus fasted for 40 days, the only way Jesus could overcome that temptation was the word of God.

Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered. In the Bible, man will not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. It is written.”

10 “Jesus said to the devil, Satan, go away! It is written in the Bible, “Worship only the Lord your God and serve Him!”

11 “Then the devil left Jesus, and angels came to serve him.”

Do I really have such a thirst for God's Word?

Do you have the earnest desire to eat the Word?

Do you have a heart that longs for pure and spiritual milk like a newborn baby?

In the name of Jesus, I earnestly pray that this will be a precious time that we can look back on through the words of today's text.

Psalm 119:9 “How can a young man keep his way clean? If you live by your word, you can keep it clean.

10 “I will follow you with all my heart. Do not let me depart from Your word.”

11 “I have put Your word in my heart. so that I may not sin against you.”

Psalm 119:103 “How sweet are your words in my mouth. Sweeter to my mouth than honey.”

104 “I am gaining insight from your precepts. Therefore I hate every evil way.”

105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Ezekiel 12:25 “I am the Lord GOD. What I am about to say will surely come without delay. You rebellious people, what I have spoken in your days must be fulfilled, says the Sovereign LORD.”

26 “The Lord has spoken to me again.”

27 “Son of man, the people of Israel said that the vision that Ezekiel saw was to be fulfilled in the distant future. He is prophesying things far into the future. It is said.”

28 “Therefore, speak to them. This is the word of the Lord GOD. My words will not be delayed any longer. What I have said will surely come true.”

Hebrews 4:11 “We must make every effort to ensure that no one becomes like those who disobeyed in the past, and that no one is barred from entering it.”

12 “The word of God is alive and has power. It is sharper than a double-edged sword, and it divides our soul and spirit, our joints and our marrow, and discerns the thoughts and feelings of our hearts.”

13 “There is nothing that can be hidden from God. We must show our all before him, because everything is revealed.”

Dear members of the White Stone Church! The best medicine among the medicines to heal a broken heart is the Word of God. The people of faith can never live without these words.

In today’s text verses 3 and 4, the true purpose of God’s “lowering the people of Israel and making you hungry, and feeding you manna, which you did not know and your ancestors did not know,” is clearly the true purpose of God’s purpose in helping the Israelites grow in their faith through God’s Word. It was because they wanted to become God through the Word and acknowledge God as God through the Word, and they wanted to gather more and more, rather than looking for their own lives in the wilderness through the Word.

Dear saints, A person who does not have a longing for the truth, that is, the Word of God, cannot be said to be a true Christian.

I pray that you will obey the Holy Spirit, who gives you earnestness for the Word.

I pray that you will read the Bible wholeheartedly and listen to the teachings of your spiritual leaders.

I earnestly pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you may enjoy and eat the word of truth to your heart's content.
