Title: Lessons from Winter (Matthew 24:19-22)
Content It is winter that comes every year, but we think about what God the Creator teaches us through this winter, and every time we put on one or two more winter clothes, God teaches us through winter, and we live according to the meaning that God requires. Let's promise
Each person's favorite season among the four seasons of the year will be different.
Some people will like Yangchun's autumnal season and spring, while those who enjoy swimming in the sea will wait for the sultry summer.
And also, there will be people who enjoy the winter season when the whole family sits together on a warm snowy day and eats a delicious pumpkin cake.
What lessons should we learn this winter?
1. The lesson of apology (Isa 1:18)
The characteristic of winter is snow. When white snow falls from the sky, I think, "Hey! It's winter now." Natural scientists say that white snow is a beautiful flower with six petals.
But in the Bible it is described as a symbol of the forgiveness of sins.
When Jesus was resurrected, the women and the standing men saw the innocent angels, and their appearance was like lightning, and their clothes were white as snow.
Isaiah 1:18 Your sins will be as white as snow, and it will be difficult to teach the children of the tropics, where there is no winter, that it is snow.
As the snow comes down from above and covers all the ugliness, so the cleansing of our sins begins with God. Just as God sends down snow through a certain natural law established by God, so our apologies are given according to a certain law ordained by God, that is, by believing and receiving His Son, Jesus Christ. forsake and forgive.
There are many religions and philosophers in the world, but they cannot solve our sins or even their own.
2. Lessons to overcome trials
Those who like spring have to wait patiently until winter is over. If you want to enjoy the joys of that sunny heaven, you have to endure all the difficulties in this world.
Matthew 24 records the prophecies of the last days. There will be tribulation in the last days. It is a message to pray that this tribulation does not happen in winter.
To keep their faith, Daniel and his friends endured the difficulties of entering into the lions' den as well as in the fire. It is said that when winter comes, spring is not far off.
We must abandon the faith that cannot overcome even the coldest of winter.
3. Faith to Prepare for Judgment
Winter is the end of the year. If there is a beginning, there is also an end.
When it snows, children make a snowman, but when the sun shines, the snowman melts. We don't work hard to make things melt when the Lord comes.
I want to read a poem by William Morrison, which sang the meaning of suffering.
How can I know if all my days are only summer? How can I understand the words that you wash me as white as snow, if the days always shine like spring? Can I keep it in my heart? How can I be sure if the tomb is not before me, the promise of giving rest to the ones I love? I believe that eternal life is not a dream. Winter, tears, affliction, and even that grave. I know that is the Lord's blessing, I have no doubt that all that I have called woe is the path of blessing the Lord has given me.
