Title: Lessons in Unity (2 John 01:10-13)
Content People who have the teachings of Christ should form a good union with those who have teachings.
I warn you not to associate with someone who doesn't have a lesson.
1. What is a happy union? 1) It is a union between husband and wife.
(Genesis 2:24) For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
2) Union with Jehovah brings victory.
(2 Kings 18:5) Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel, and there was none like him among the kings of Judah before and after him (2 Kings 18:6). (2 Kings 18:8) And the LORD was with him, and he prospered wherever he went. He rejected the king of Assyria, and did not serve him (2 Kings 18:8).
3) Union with Jesus also brings happiness.
(John 15:1) I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. (John 15:2) Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, the Father will take it away; and every branch that bears fruit, he cleanses it so that it may bear more fruit. (John 15:3) You are already clean by the words I spoke to you. (John 15:4) Abide in me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, so you too (John 15:5) I am the vine and you are the branch; if he is in me and I in him, this man bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5). (John 15:7) If a man does not abide in me, he throws it out like a branch and withers away. People gather it and throw it into the fire and burn it (John 15:7) If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish. Then it will be done
2. Avoid unhappy unions
(Exodus 23:1) You shall not spread false rumors, and you shall not be an invulnerable witness in association with the wicked.
(Exodus 23:2) Do not follow the majority to do evil, nor give unjust testimony according to the majority in a case (Ex 23:3)
(Exodus 34:11) Take heed that you do what I command you today, and behold, I will drive out from before you the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites (Exodus 34:12) ).
