be a good person
(Philemon 1:4-18)
>
Yesterday, our church's elementary school soccer team went to the Seoul Banquet as a representative of the Mapo region and won the championship. Our Shinchon Church elementary school soccer team became the undisputed strongest team at the Seoul Banquet. I was more than happy that our Korean baseball team won the gold medal after defeating Cuba 3-2 (…) My thoughts on people… It is emotional rather than rational. People seem rational and logical, but in reality they are very emotional. Because of affection, the enemy becomes a comrade, and the bitterness that is entrenched can be melted away. A life of faith is not a big deal. When God's love is realized, I will respond to that love. (…) Our life begins with meeting many people. You are lucky to meet good people. It is God's grace. When I become a good person, I can meet good people. I bless you in the name of the Lord that it will be a time to promise to be a good person.
① Beneficial people are good people. (1:1)
(…) Onesimus was a man who did not live up to his master's will, slandered his property, and undermined Philemon's social face. Onesimus was a futile man. But Onesimus met Paul and believed in Jesus Christ. And I was born again.(…) Now, I have become a person who sincerely serves Paul whom I met in the faith. So Paul testifies that he is a useful man. Beneficial people are those who change. A person who can change is a good person.(…) A person who has been changed by believing in Jesus is a good person. They are in a perishable body, but they have an incorruptible soul. It was a shameful life, but it turned into a glorious life. Meeting good people is a blessing. But it is to the glory of God that I am a good person.(…)
② It is a good person to be a servant. (1:12)
Paul praises Onesimus as a good man and introduces him as his servant. A servant is a person who is closest to you and is referred to as an 'entourage'.(…) Just because you serve close and are with you, you do not necessarily mean that you are a servant. A true henchman is one who reads and knows the mind. All officers in the church are to be servants of the Lord. You must also become a servant of the church. You must be the servant of all the saints. Onesimus knew Paul's heart in prison and was a good reader, so Paul boasted that he was his servant. We come to realize the truth that the good people we need to meet are those who read and understand hearts.(…) Everyone! He who reads and understands the mind is his henchman. He's a good person. Hope you find good people.
③ A person who serves is a good person. (1:13-14)
When Paul wrote a letter to Onesimus and sent it to Philemon, he wanted his master to forgive him, to settle all problems with his master, and to become a free man and serve Paul. A church cannot be a good church without people serving in the church. Worship is serving God with the most reverence. The church is happy because of the people who serve, and it thrives because of the people who serve. The Lord sometimes goes to Bethany to serve food and listen to the word, so that there is service to serve, so that he is comforted there. Churches thrive because of those who serve the gospel. A person who serves is a good person. Amen.
