Title: Let's Be Christians (Acts 11: 25-30)

I. I believe in Jesus as my Savior.

II. Obey the scriptures.

III. Take up your cross and follow Jesus.

If we look at the words of God’s Word that we read together this morning, Acts 11:26,

“It was said that he came to be called a Christian.

The word Christian here means Christ's.

The original Christian nickname was Nazarene because Jesus was raised in Nazareth (Acts 24:5).

It was. Or Jesus began to preach the gospel of the kingdom centered on the Galilee region.

That is why, in Acts 10:11, he was called a Galilean.

After that, in the early church, they were called saints and brothers.

In our text, Acts 11, the Christian, that is, Christ, was born in Antioch.

I started calling them people.

Saints are Christians. So, how can you become a Christian?

I. I must believe in Jesus as my Savior.

Who is a Christian?

A person who believes in Jesus is a Christian.

The people of Jesus Christ are the way. It's true. Believe in Jesus Christ, who is life, as your Savior

They are welcome people.

Romans 10:13 says, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

I did.

In Romans 10:9-10, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,

If you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation.” A Christian is a person who believes in Jesus and exalts Jesus and proclaims Jesus.

Christians eat because of Jesus. Drink for Jesus. Running because of Jesus.

running I live because of Jesus.

According to John 3:5-6, Christians are those who have been born again of water and the Spirit. A Christian is one who has been born again by the Spirit of Christ and by the blood of Christ.

Christians are those who believe in Jesus that they will go to heaven even if they die now.

In Romans 8:9, it says, "If you do not have the Spirit of Christ, you are not a Christian. Anyone who believes in Jesus who was crucified for me and died and rose again is a Christian

is. How can I become a Christian?

I. I must believe in Jesus as my Savior

II. You must obey the Bible.

(Deuteronomy 30:20 says, "If you return to the LORD your God and obey the word of the LORD with all your heart and all your soul, completely following what I have commanded you today..."

(Deuteronomy 30:8) In verse 8, it says, “Return and obey the word of the Lord again, and I

}I said I would do all the commands I gave you.

(Deuteronomy 30:20) In verse 20, it says, "Love the LORD your God, and obey his word, and be obedient to him." Love and obedience are like two legs in one body. love and obedience

It has two principles. If you love, you will obey. loved one's

I listen well. Love is a principle, obedience is an action. God has given us

If you look at the Ten Commandments, the 1st through 4th commandments are the commandments for loving God.

God

Those who love God to love

Number one, I told you not to have any other gods besides me.

The second was not to make an idol for you.

The third is that you must not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

The fourth command was to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.

God is commandments to love.

The Bible says in several places, "Love the Lord your God.

In order to love God, we must keep the commandments (from the 1st commandment to the 4th commandment). That is

It is purebred. It is to love God.

Also, the 5th through 10th commandments are commandments to love our neighbor.

In other words, the fifth commanded you to honor your parents.

The 6th told me not to kill

The seventh is not to commit adultery.

The eighth was told not to steal.

The ninth is not to testify falsely.

The tenth is not to covet your neighbor's house.

If I am a Christian who truly loves God, God and other people

We love and live by keeping the commandments of God.

The law does not make a person, the person comes first and the law comes last.

God created humans Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and served God right away.

He made the law for people to love each other, to manage the world properly, and to live and receive blessings.

So the church has laws.

The canon law is about how the saints can trust Jesus and go to heaven. In John 15, Jesus tells his disciples to love one another. Jesus gives us a new commandment, to love one another.

To love, you must keep God's law. That is obedience.

The more you love, the more order and procedure you have. So, in 1 Corinthians 13:4, it says that love is not proud, and in verse 5 it is not rude. in the name of love

If you covet someone's wife or take other people's things without saying anything, your love will change and you will become hateful. Christians are people who love God and obey His commands.

If you love God and obey His commands (Word), in Deuteronomy 30:20, “The Lord

You will live in the land you swore to give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."

I did. The land he swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (a land flowing with milk and honey)

He said that you would dwell in the kingdom of Canaan.

Christians are those who obey the Word of the Bible, believe in Jesus, enter the kingdom of heaven and live.

How can I become a Christian?

I. I must believe in Jesus as my Savior

II. We must obey the scriptures

III. Those who take up their cross and follow Jesus.

Christians are followers of Jesus. Jesus said, "Whoever wants to come after me

If you are, deny yourself and take up your cross and follow me."

In short, the people of Christ are those who do their best for Jesus Christ.

Who is a Christian?

Those who work for Jesus, evangelize, fight (fight against Satan), and win.

Christians do not look at the clock for Jesus' sake, but do their best for Jesus' sake.

Those who carry their cross and follow. Jesus died on the cross. This news was disappointing and sad. But Jesus rose from the dead three days later. The news that He was resurrected gave us joy and victory. We Christians believe in Jesus Christ, who overcame the power of death and the power of sin and rose again. I obey that word. And take up your cross and follow Jesus.

I believe that the kingdom of God will be given to Christians who follow Jesus in this way.
