Title: Let's be exemplary stewards

Contents

1 Peter 5:3

The steward is Hel- (oikonomos), which refers to the person in charge of taking care of and taking care of the household of a large house.

A steward manages his master's property, serving at his master's table, giving directions to his servants, and managing household expenses on his behalf.

Still, the steward has considerable freedom of action. We are God's stewards. In other words, they are stewards of the time, wealth, life, and talents entrusted to them by God.

A steward is a person who has received the office of God through the grace of God, not by his own will or ability, whatever his or her office may have been.

If you think that you are a steward because you are good and capable, you become arrogant, you become an authoritarian, and you are not recognized by many people. Above all else, you must be an example to others in all aspects of your life of faith.

First, do not be passive (verse 2).

1. You must not do it out of necessity.

Inevitably means to do something without intention. It is worthless to force yourself to do the mission entrusted to you, and it is of no benefit to you or the saints.

2. You must not do it for the sake of dirty people.

As the church is entrusted with finances and relief for the poor, we should not fall into the temptation to take our own profits through them (2 Timothy 3:6, Titus 1:11).

There is nothing more detestable in the work of the church than to seek self-interest.

3. You must not have an assertive posture (verse 3).

You must not be in a position to take care of the saints and become the ruler. This is a more extraordinary temptation than greed. This is because the authority acquired by gaining the support of people creates a desire to rule over people easily.

Second, we need to be proactive

1. We must do it voluntarily, following the will of God (verse 2b).

Volunteering should be modeled on the heart of God's will, not on one's own will or for one's own satisfaction.

2. It should be done only with pleasure.

For our members to do God's work, the most appropriate attitude should be done with a joyful heart, thinking that it is right for them to become God's people thanks to God's grace given to us. We are all created to do things that glorify God (Isaiah 43:7, 1 Corinthians 10:31).

Through this work with a willing heart, we should set an example by working hard with joy, hoping for eternal blessings from the spiritual grace of heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:10)

3. You must set an example. (Verse 3b)

There is a saying that there is a saying that a hundred sentences cannot be seen.

A leader has a profound influence on the multitudes that follow him, so a leader must be especially careful about his actions and lead a life of example (Titus 1:9).

If he is lazy and indolent, who will follow him? The Apostle Paul said, "You must become imitators of me (1 Corinthians 4:16). I hope that you will be exemplary in your faith and in your study of the Word and in your prayer life.

Obey the Lord's servant (1 Tim. 5:17), love the saints (2 Tim. 2:24-26), and set an example for family life (1 Tim. 3:5).

Conclusion A steward must be an example in fulfilling the office given to him by gifts. I hope that you do not be compelled to do it, do not take filthy teeth, give up your claiming attitude, follow God's will and set an example with joy only to build up the body of Jesus Christ.
