Behind the great sports stars, there is a lot of hard work to win. You cannot achieve the glory of victory without proper exercise that develops endurance, agility, mental stamina, and skills. We are all athletes in the spiritual race. How can I win the spiritual race? Let's ponder And I hope that we can win and enjoy the glory of the Lord.
First, to be a winner, you have to be cold when you need to be cold and hot when you need to be hot. The church in Laodicea was a church with a history and tradition to the extent that the Apostle Paul wrote a letter in Colossians 4:16. But now, 35 years have passed since the time of writing the book of Colossians, the Lord is evaluating him as a lukewarm state. When we compare our spiritual life to temperature, we can see through the Bible that it is not right to be lukewarm (see Matthew 5:37, 1 Kings 18:21).
What should be cold? And when should it be really hot?
What is your spiritual temperature? Is it close to the proper body temperature to stay? Or is it cold? Or is it hot? Let's measure my spiritual temperature. And in order to become a overcomer, I hope that I can become a saint who knows how to be cold when it should be cold and hot when it should be hot.
Second, to be a conqueror, you must be able to see yourself clearly.
What is the biggest problem of the church in Laodicea? (verses 17-18) It is not knowing. What do you not know?
What do you think the Bible says about faith? Faith is the creation of a sense of God.
Please check how much our spiritual senses are. I need to think about whether I am a person with spiritual insensitivity who is oblivious to my true spiritual state due to complacency, self-delusion, and self-pride.
