Title: Let's Make a Happy Family 2 (Unhappy Family into Happy Family)
Bible: Ruth 1:15-18
2011.5.8. day
I wish you a happy family. A happy family is a happy family when the children are happy, the parents are happy, and the couple is happy.
Today, I would like to introduce a beautiful story of changing a poor family into a happy one through a foreign woman with God's grace.
1. Families who left their hometown due to famine
In the days of the judges, a man named Elimelech in Bethlehem married a virgin named Naomi and started a family. They had a happy and sweet time as newlyweds, and they gave birth to two lovely sons. The eldest son was named Marlon and the second son was named Giryum. It was a really happy family. The only drawback was that the two sons were a little ill. But when they were about 10 years old, there was a great famine in Bethlehem. This was a disciplinary action against the sins of the Israelites in disobedience before God. Would it have been a famine and no bread even in Bethlehem, which was called the house of bread? However, spiritually ignorant Elimelech did not realize this and left Bethlehem with his wife and two sons to move to a foreign country called Moab.
Dear saints, Just because it's hard to live and difficult doesn't mean you have to move. When we are in trouble, we should get down on our knees and pray to God to ask where God's will is.
Just because your business isn't going well, you shouldn't just follow what others are doing. It must have been that the land of Moab at that time had plenty of grain.
Bethlehem is the house of bread with God's bread of life, and the land of Canaan is the promised land flowing with red enemies and honey. To go to the land of Moab as if to leave this place and run away is speaking of leaving God, leaving the Christian life, leaving the side of the faithful and going into the world.
Therefore, dear saints! Please keep this in mind. Think about the first time you received God's love and grace. You must keep that belief.
Elimerek means ‘God is my king’ and Naomi means ‘joy and joy’. But now, throwing away that name and moving to the idol city of Moab is a dangerous act of abandoning happiness and walking towards unhappiness.
2. 10 Years of Death in Moab
At first, Moab was rich in food, so Elimelech, who was blind to material things, seemed to be a little bit lost here. But one day, my husband died suddenly. Naomi was engulfed in sorrow. However, he lived looking at his two sons. And I thought that I should get them married soon, so I married my two sons. Since I lived here, of course, I took the women of Moab here as my daughter-in-law.
However, the son married, but could not have children. In the meantime, the eldest son, who is suffering again, fell ill and passed away. Shortly thereafter, the second son fell ill and died. What is this? How can life be so unhappy? I came here to live a better life while I was away from my hometown for 10 years, but since all my najarans died and only 3 widows were left, what could be more unfortunate than this? The reason is that God's people left God and went out into the world during difficult times. No one can change what God has ordained. Therefore, when it is difficult and difficult, we must come closer to God and live according to the Word of God.
Tithing, early morning prayer, and faithful service are all the same.
Don't change your mind even if you go out well, and don't change when things get difficult. If you look at the passing of 10 or 20 years, God will surely bless you if you keep your faith and live obediently according to the Word.
3. God's grace in preparing a woman
Naomi ponders. Why did our family become so unhappy? Then the news came that God took care of Bethlehem and gave them food. is to do That's right. I wish I had lived there quietly. I repented to God because I thought I might have come here to bury my husband's son. I realize that this is not a coincidence and that God has struck me.
“...and my heart aches for you all the more, because the hand of the LORD has struck me.”
And make a decision. Let's go back Let's go back to Bethlehem, my hometown, to the arms of God! And the two brethren were rejected.
eldest daughter-in-law - Orpah - she left Naomi and went back to her home
Little daughter-in-law -Ruth-Ruth decides to follow her mother.
There was still the grace that God prepared for the unfortunate family. That person is Ruth. No matter how difficult or difficult it may be, if we just decide to return to God, please believe that God's grace has been prepared for us.
4. Ruth's Faith
Through Ruth's confession, we can see how beautiful he has a heart. I hope you all have the same faith as Ruth.
1) I will accompany my mother for the rest of my life.-Wherever she goes, I will stay where she stays.
2) Mother's people will become my people. - Change the nation. Not the people of the world, but the people of heaven.
3) Mother's God will be my God.-I will serve God.
4) I will share life and death with my mother.-Where my mother dies, I will die and be buried there.
5. God's amazing blessings and return to a happy family
After that, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law returned to Bethlehem, and Ruth went out to the fields to glean and take care of her mother-in-law. She took care of her mother-in-law with the utmost sincerity by gleaning grain and obtaining grain without regard to suffering. And every day, she reports to her mother-in-law about what happened that day. So I take advice from my mother-in-law. A man even says he likes him. This is the secret to being blessed. Then God blessed Ruth to meet a rich man named Boaz, married and gave birth to a son, and became a great man who made the great history of Israel.
The great work of changing unhappy families into happy families is accomplished by God, but just as he did through Naomi's daughter-in-law Ruth, I pray that you will make happy parents through today's beloved children and restore them to a happy family.
