Title: Let's Develop Talents/Matthew 25:14-30
Let's develop content talents
▨ Matthew 25:14-30 ▧
As the end of the year approaches, we look back on the days gone by and give thanks to God for the grace that has guided and protected us so far. On the one hand, I personally think about whether I did my best in the work God gave me this year.
The parable of the talents in today's text is a parable we are well familiar with. This is about the end times, and when the Lord comes again, before the end of history, all God's people will settle for their talents. Two servants who worked hard were left doubled. But the servant who had been buried in the ground was brought back. The two servants who were doubled were praised and rewarded, and the one who left it in the ground was rebuked and punished. Through today's text, I would like to reflect on the year and share the grace of the new year.
1. There is an end time for everything.
If there is a new year, there are triangles. When a student enters school and studies, there are times when they graduate.
Everyone in life has a time to be born and a time to die. In history, God creates the heavens and the earth and makes the final final judgment.
The last moment will come in our lives as well. Hebrews 9:27 says, “It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” You should not live a life that you know the master will return, but are not prepared for.
2. You have to use your talents.
We have all received talents from the Lord. At the moment of becoming God's people, talents are granted. This is not a matter of choice, it is a matter of necessity. It is something that cannot be denied as the power of God. It was received by everyone, regardless of age or gender, rich or poor.
Here, our talent is the gospel ministry. However, each received differently according to their talents. That is, each has received a different mission of the gospel. Verse 15 of the text says, “Each one according to his talent…”. Some received one talent, two talents, and five talents.
All the saints received three things. Received talents, occupations, positions.
First, talent. To be good at art, to be good at music, to be good at speaking, to be good at service, to be good at teaching, and other personal talents.
Second, it's a job. Civil servants, teachers, merchants, farmers, soldiers, and other occupations are talents and occupations God-given.
Third, it is a job. In the church, they each received their duties as deacons, teachers, choir members, kwons, elders, etc.
Dear saints,
In this way, we have received the talents of talents, occupations, and offices from the Lord. This was not the original species. The owner has entrusted his property. That is, the work of the Lord has been entrusted to us.
In verse 14 of the text, “…it is like entrusting one's possessions.” Therefore, although each type of mission is different, they received the same work of God. Therefore, we should not compare our own mission with that of others, nor should we complain about what we have received. There should be no complaints here.
Have we not forgotten the principal we received from God? What is my fault? A talent is a talent, an ability. What talents do I have? Music, art, learning, wealth, health, personality, speech, exercise, etc. Are we using our talents? Let's use our talents. We must know that talents were not given to preserve, but to be used. Therefore, we should not preserve the identity, talents, occupations, and positions of the saints, but use them.
3. The process is more important than the result.
Verse 30 says, “Cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
The one who received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid it. Therefore, when he returned, he was rebuked by the master who was counting. He was evil and lazy. They could not use the precious talents they had received and buried them. So I was rebuked for being an evil and lazy servant.
To be “buried in the ground” is to use the talents, occupations, and positions that God has given you for the flesh. It was consumed for the sake of this world. It was poured out on their own interests and materialism. It has been poured into selfishness. They did not work for the glory of God.
In the end, the one who received the one talent was rebuked by the master and thrown out of the dark. The dark place here is hell. Grieving and grinding teeth means that the suffering of hell is great.
Dear saints,
These results are for everyone. This conclusion comes to all of us. If you look back, you will see that there are too many of these. If you have your talents and do not leave them to God during this time, if you bury them in the ground, I pray that you will repent thoroughly and be converted.
conclusion
Dear saints,
Revelation 22:12 says, "Behold, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to give to each one according to what he has done."
Salvation comes by faith. But the reward is obtained by works of faith. We must settle the faith of the day past this hour. This is the settlement of accounts when the Lord comes, and the settlement of accounts when I close this earth. There is still time for closing. I pray that you will receive praise from the Lord as a good and faithful servant by making the remaining period a period of thorough repentance and carrying out your mission more diligently.
