Title: Let's Embrace God's Wish
Contents
Let's have God's wishes. (Phil 2:13-14)
In the article “My Wish” written by Baekbeom Kim Gu in 1947, he first said this. “If God asks me what your wish is, I will answer without hesitation, saying, My wish is the independence of Korea.
Also, what is my next wish, I will also become the independence of our country. Also, in the third question of what my next wish is, I will raise my voice even more so that my wish is the complete independence of Korea.” Kim Gu's only wish was independence.
Where was Kim Gu's only wish?
But these days, it has changed to the unification of North and South Korea. There is a song sung by the leaders of North and South Korea holding hands. It is a song called "Our Wish is Unification".
But every time I sing that song, the heartbreaking thing is, why is unification not happening even though everyone is wishing for unification? All the people wish for the unification of South and North Korea without exception. Why is that wish not being fulfilled?
There was an article written by someone called the Eight Laws of Making Wishes Come true, where the second secret said, "Make your goals align with the wishes of your heart" and the fifth secret "Pay the price for making your wishes come true." " is recorded.
That's right. Although unification is a wish, it cannot be done because of different desires, and to achieve unification, a high price must be paid.
Looking at other English Bibles for the word wish, it was also expressed as "hope" (hope) and also written as will (will). In other words, the God who works within us sows “hope” and “will” to work when He works through us.
You need to think deeply about these words. There is a way God works through us.
The first is that it instills in our hearts a desire, hope, or will to do something. After doing so, from then on, he will work hard to make that wish come true.
Then, in the end, that wish is destined to come true.
That's how our human civilization has advanced so far. How can I fly like a bird in the sky? I had a desire to fly, so I finally made an airplane. The radio was created to see how far away news could be heard here, and I thought and wished on how to watch scenes from far away in the main room, and in the end, it was achieved through TV.
The phone was created with the idea of how to make it impossible to talk to someone far away. Today, cell phones were created with the idea of how to get around and talk to people from afar. Now, video phones started appearing in the hopes of not being able to talk while watching the person you are talking to.
In the near future, just as the pager ended as a relic of an era, the time will come when our cell phones will also disappear. Because something better will be made.
Dear saints,
I pray that you will understand how God works. If you learn how to do it, amazing blessings will abound in you.
How does God work?
1. God is working in us.
Would it be a childish question to ask where God is?
But we need to check this issue clearly.
God dwells in us. God is in heaven, and God is everywhere. That's why you say you're not there.
But in today's text, He says clearly, He dwells in us. That's right. God dwells in us.
To dwell in us means to be with us at all times, not far away.
Therefore, we must keep in mind that our entire life should be the faith of Immanuel who walks with God.
It is not the Lord who comes and helps and disappears like Superman only in times of hardship, pain, and difficulty. The Lord is always with us, even in difficult times.
Not only that, he said, "You do it." What are you doing? To act here means to do work. You're not talking about what you're doing. But what is certain from the context before and after is that he is working for our sanctification. The Lord is working hard and working diligently for our salvation.
That is why we are today. How do we gain salvation in our own strength? How can we become God's servants in our own strength? Please remember that it was all because of the zeal of the Lord who works in us.
2. He gives us a wish and makes us work.
The God who works in us is the first to plant a wish in our hearts when he makes us work.
By doing so, his wish will come true, and by doing so, he will glorify God.
Then, what kind of wish is God planting in our hearts?
If you look at the wishes of God's people, you will find the answer.
1) Look at David's wish.
2 Kings 7:2 "I live in a house of cedar, and the ark of God is in the veil." He had the heart to build a temple.
The house I live in is more luxurious and splendid than the tabernacle where the ark of God is kept, so I wanted to build a beautiful temple for God.
But when he spoke these words to the prophet Nathan, David exhorted him to do whatever is in his heart, for the LORD is with the king. But when Nathan the prophet was sleeping at night, God came and answered him.
“I will always be with you,” he said, “and your children will build the temple.
In other words, God rejected David's wish and allowed his son Solomon to build the temple.
When David hears the sound, he does not feel offended, but rather praises God.
In the end, David could not fulfill his wish, but he makes perfect preparations so that his son Solomon can build the temple. And in the end, the temple was completed in the son's generation.
God gave David a wish, and he was glorified in his son's generation.
Dear all!
I hope that you and I can pray and work for the work that pleases God with good wishes in our hearts. If we do this, we must believe that even if it is not achieved in our generation, it will be achieved in our next generation as well.
Can not be done. At the very least, if someone like me doesn't even dream of what he can do, then God won't work through us.
Therefore, even though it seems impossible right now, we do not know how important it is to live with the great wishes that God has planted.
2) One of Paul's wishes was this.
Acts 19:21 "After these things were finished, Paul went to Macedonia and Achaia, and planned to go to Jerusalem, saying, I have gone there, and later I must see Rome."
Paul always wanted to go to Rome to evangelize while he was on evangelistic trips. I never forgot that wish from my heart for even a moment. But what was the result? The results have been amazing.
“I must see Rome” “I must also see Rome” He hoped and had a dream, but God eventually sends him to Rome.
how? to be taken into prisoners' bodies. In a way, it looks miserable. Why are you supposed to be taken as a prisoner? Paul was arrested in Jerusalem, brought to trial, and then appealed to the Roman emperor and sent to Rome. If you think about it, this is also a blessing.
If not a prisoner, who would pay the wage? When you go to the prisoner's body, you pay the wages, and when you go to the prisoner, the guard follows, and the centurion escorts you. That's why you've attached a reliable bodyguard. The centurion was responsible for escorting Paul to Rome.
In the end, they go to Rome to be tried, and they will be judged freely, and eventually they will have the opportunity to preach the gospel even in front of the emperor. Hallelujah!
Dear all!
I also have one of my most earnest wishes.
It is to see the Yale Church that God has shepherded grow healthy. Healthy cells, living cells reproduce. A healthy church has a strong body and is constantly moving and increasing in number.
I believe that the Church of God is bound to grow.
Without growth, the church is dead. If God allows it, if it is according to God's wishes, the church is supposed to grow.
I earnestly pray that 2007 will be the year that lays the foundation stone to grant God's wishes.
2007 is also an important year in the history of missionary work in Korea. This is because it is the 100th anniversary of the great revival movement in Pyongyang.
So, every church is welcoming this year with the hope that the fire of the Holy Spirit that blew up on this earth 100 years ago can be kindled again.
I earnestly wish that the amazing revival of the Holy Spirit, which happened 100 years ago, will come to our Yale Church as well.
If you have a wish, God will open the way. However, even though God planted a wish, I should not reject that wish by looking at the reality and saying no. However, although the situation is difficult in many ways, if you believe that God will grant you and pray for your wish, then God will make your wish come true and you will be glorified through your wish.
3) What is your wish today?
In Matthew 15:28, a woman comes to Jesus with the problem of a daughter possessed by a vicious demon. Then Jesus treats the woman like a dog and tests her faith. Even so, the woman is okay with admitting herself as a dog, so she asks for a piece of grace and approaches Jesus.
What did Jesus say to this woman then?
“Woman, great is your faith; it will be done as you wish.”
The surprising thing is that from that poem his daughter was healed.
