Let's examine our life of gratitude / Psalm 100:1-5
How many blessings have I received from God? How mature am I in faith? What will my job be like now? The answer to all these problems depends on [how grateful I am to God]. Those who are grateful will surely succeed.
Gratitude should become a lifestyle. Those who have eaten meat know how to eat, and those who have given thanks know how to give thanks.
1. You must enter the church with thanksgiving.(4)
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and bless his name.” Here, "the gate" is the gate of the court where God resides. Church.
Col 3:15 Be thankful.
Gratitude is the condition and key to opening the door of God's temple. It also leads us to enter and meet God intimately, and it is a vessel of manna that obtains the form that God has prepared for us to feed. Therefore, I hope that you will be members who open the door of God's court with thanksgiving while attending church.
2. I need to check if I have a title of thanks.(3-)
A boy fell while playing in the alley after being hit in the eye by a stone thrown by a friend. When the parents heard the news, they ran to the scene and took the boy to the hospital, but the doctor shook their head and said, "Both eyes are blind and there is no chance of recovery." At that time, the boy said in a clear voice, "Mom, Dad, I lost my eyes, but my head is still there. Thank you very much." This boy was Henry Fawcett (1833-1884), a blind English economist, professor, and minister at the University of Cambridge. Gratitude can be found by seeking. Otherwise, I can't thank you. In the text, the psalmist also finds the subject of thanksgiving.
See verse 3. "Know that the LORD is our God. He is our Maker, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture."
Confessing that I am grateful to the God who created the universe and all things, who governs it, and who is the King of kings. Starting from there, I am grateful that I was created by the hand of such a wonderful person, and in spite of my shortcomings, the hand of God, who owns me, receives me as a people, and as a friendly shepherd, takes care of myself as foolish as a sheep. is to be thankful for. We must remember that no matter how bad things are, we will only be grateful.
3. There are blessings promised in thanksgiving.(5)
Gratitude doesn't end with gratitude. Gratitude has promises, and gratitude also breeds gratitude.
Galatians 6:7 says, "Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." Those who sow thanksgiving will surely reap thanks. This is an immutable spiritual law.
Americans say “Good Morning” no matter how bad the day is. Their gratitude-centered life like this made America what it is today. When we are grateful for our present life, we receive greater blessings and become more mature human beings. And peace and you will have joy.
Gratitude has a promise. In the text, the promise given to the people who know thanksgiving before God is recorded. Section 5. “For the LORD is good; his lovingkindness endures forever, and his faithfulness endures from generation to generation.”
The blessings that those who give thanks will receive are the blessings of “eternity” and “from generation to generation.” Endless blessings until reaching the kingdom of God are promised along with thanksgiving. I pray that this week will also restore the faith to firmly believe in God's promised blessings with thanksgiving.
