Text: Acts 4:32-37
32 Those who believed were of one mind and of one mind, sharing all things in common and sharing their wealth.
No one even claimed that it was his.
33 When the apostles testified of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, the crowds received great favor
34 There was no poor among them, for those who had fields and houses sold them and brought the price of what they sold.
35 They put it at the apostles' feet, and they distributed it to each one according to their need
36 There was a Levite from Cyprus, whose name was Joseph, and the apostles called him
Barnabara (translated, son of comfort).
37 And when he had a field, he sold it, took the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet
When groups of the same group gather together and get along with each other, they are called yuyusangjong. A person who likes to drink meets a drinker and drinks. A gambler meets gamblers and gambles. Many dissatisfied people meet with dissatisfied people, complaining, resenting, and slandering others. Because we are believers, we spend a gracious time together with those who believe, praising, praying, and fellowshipping with each other. Today's text records what believers do when they gather together. It is an ideal church and an exemplary Christian figure. As believers, what should we do together?
1. You will have one heart and one will.
In fact, it is not easy to have one heart and one mind. The divorce rate proves that it is difficult for couples to achieve one heart. However, the believers in the Early Church were of one heart and one mind. It was because they received the Holy Spirit together and were full of grace. Before they received the Holy Spirit, they were self-centered and had no meaning, and each lived according to their individuality. However, as they were filled with the Holy Spirit and lived a gracious life, they achieved one heart. How can a couple become one and the church community become one? You must be filled with the Holy Spirit and be controlled by the Holy Spirit. ① We must first realize our own shortcomings. ② We must look at our brothers and sisters and regard them as objects of understanding and love. ③ We must look to God and form one heart with His will.
2. We will live a life of service by sharing.
When you receive the Holy Spirit, vain greed disappears and a life of sharing becomes possible. The world competes for possessions and seeks to satisfy greed. But believers are those who receive God's grace, receive blessings, and share it. We must cast aside stinginess and greed and become people who share and serve. The early church members did not fall for sharing, there were no onlookers, and there were no objections. We are all blessed. What did God give grace to do? When we share and serve each other 1) We become strong. Because they were in common with each other, no power could break them. Those who have received the Holy Spirit have power, and those who share are strong and truly rich. 2) Grow. Everyone! Please share. Experience even more amazing grace. 3) It becomes more abundant. It is also because it is an economic powerhouse. No other country in the world has provided as much aid as the United States. So they make a more prosperous nation. If you want to be rich, do not be greedy, but share and serve.
3. Be a comforter.
Dear saints, Believers are people who are not divided and serve others with one heart. They are comforters.
1. What kind of heart did the believers of the early church gather?
2. What did you receive great grace from?
3. There was no one because they shared with each other?
4. Who was Barnabas?
5. Let me tell you something I can share with the saints.
