Let's have the heart of Jesus Christ! (Phil 2:1-11)
Goguryeo, despite having the largest territory and power among the three kingdoms, failed to unify the three kingdoms. It is regrettable that if Goguryeo had reunified, the territory and history of our country would have been very different now. It is because Goguryeo, the most powerful, was not united in the history of the ruins.
Yeon Gaesomun, who made a good impression on the general's reputation by blocking the Tang and Na Tang forces, had three sons and three brothers. It is 'Namsaeng, Namgeon, Namsan'. They also resembled the general's father and were very handsome sons. When his father Yeon Gaesomun passed away, he called the three brothers to him and earnestly asked them, 'Whatever happens after I die, that you, with all your heart and will, serve the kingdom well. However, after his father's death, his eldest brother became the prime minister, and the two younger brothers envy him, causing a riot, and the older brother was expelled. Then, while living in the periphery, when the Tang army invaded, he surrendered with the army and defeated Goguryeo together, destroying Goguryeo.
Quarrels and vanity go wrong even with great strength, but if you love each other with humility and consider others better than yourself, you will eventually overcome everything with little power and strength. We must embrace the heart of Jesus Christ to fulfill God's will in 2010 and return the glory.
1. The hearts of Jesus Christ are of one heart through love (verse 2).
In the best-selling posthumous work “A Miracle that Lives, Miracle to Live” by Professor Young-hee Jang of Sogang University’s English department, who passed away recently, she recalled that the most courageous word in her life was ‘It’s okay’. As a child, when I was sick and sad that I couldn't join my friends' games, a passerby smiled and said: "OK!"
He shouts to his friend who has not been able to solve the last problem while remaining alone to the end and challenging the Golden Bell. "OK! OK!" Solve a problem to win 1st place and watch a more moving drama than ringing the golden bell.
This is the heart of the Lord. The Lord has always told us, “It’s okay. He wanted to pray together in the Garden of Gethsemane, but he expressed understanding rather than scolding and pointing out toward the disciples, whose eyelids were too heavy. “The heart is willing, but the body is weak!” He knew that his body was weak, but his heart was trying to follow the Lord.
The heart of Jesus is well expressed in the Sermon on the Mount. A poor heart, a mourning heart, a meek heart, and a compassionate heart are the heart of the Lord, and it is the heart that unites us through love. He spoke of the Beatitudes and said, “Do not criticize.” The Lord emphasized the spirituality of discernment, but the spirituality of criticism did not even speak of it. Discernment is to examine and understand both the mind and reality of doing so, but criticism exposes the mind without looking at it, making it condemned by seeing only external phenomena. This year, as our church looks at each other, the country, and each other, let's discern with the heart of the Lord, but don't criticize. Let's become one with love and accomplish what the best Lord wants us to do.
2. The heart of Jesus Christ is to consider others to be better and to take care of other people's affairs (verses 3-4).
An Italian saint, Francesco, one day saw the peculiarity of a woman drawing water from a well. A woman would pour water into a bucket of water, float a piece of wood, and then carry it on her shoulder and walk. “Why are the pieces of wood floating?” When Francesco asked, the woman answered. “If you look at the pieces of wood, you can tell how shaken you are, so you can be as careful as you can. Also, the pieces of wood catch the water that is shaking, so it doesn’t spill even if you shake it a little!”
3. The heart of Jesus Christ is the heart of action (verses 6-8).
Jesus did not say to us, “I love you!” sitting on a throne in heaven. He emptied himself, took the body of a servant, suffered and died on the cross.
The life of faith is easy, but not easy. Receiving and becoming a child of God is not all about the life of faith, but in order to grow up to the full size of being like the Lord, sometimes it is necessary to sacrifice and give what you have, and to find joy and practice it even if you do not want to do it. Here is the reward and the praise of the Lord.
The Magi were people of practice. Found a moving star in the sky, and immediately began the arduous journey that had followed for years. They are not just doctors who have thought, studied, and meditated. acted. When they came to Jerusalem and asked where the Messiah would be born, Bible scholars quoted Micah 5:2 and said that it was Bethlehem. But those who knew did not go, and only those who heard went to Bethlehem to worship the baby Jesus. Who are the real believers?
Dear brothers and sisters, the year 2010 is a blessing to become a true believer. Usually, the number of ideas that come to mind is similar for each person. But the hallmark of a person who wins in life is a person who puts ideas into practice.
There is Nippon Computer, which started in 1973 with a warehouse of 3 pyeong and has now led to a large corporation with 130,000 people. The key to the company's growth, known in the book “The Japanese Computational Story,” is its unique talent recruitment. There is no entrance exam. Instead, there are 'speak out loud' to measure confidence, 'eat fast' to check positive attitude, 'clean the toilet' to check that you are strong in the basics, and 'duck run' to test your fighting spirit. Hire employees.
It's not just about checking the knowledge you have in your head, it's about testing your attitude and practice. The company had no choice but to become stronger by recruiting talented people with practical skills rather than knowledge-type people.
After telling the parable of the good Samaritan, Jesus asks: “Which of these three do you think is the neighbor to the man who was struck by a robber?” He said, “He who showed mercy. Jesus said to them, “Go and do likewise” (Luke 10:36-37).
We want to encourage each other by saying “it’s okay” with all our heart. I want to look after others with all my heart. I want to put all my heart into practice, even if it is difficult.
