20090419 Let's impress God (1 Kings 3:3-15)
In June 1972, an American political case in which a secret operation group plotting the re-election of President R.M. Nixon broke into the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee in Washington's Watergate Building and tried to install a wiretapping device. As a result of this incident, the Nixon regime's election obstruction, corruption, bribery, and tax evasion of political donations were exposed. In 1974, Nixon resigned as president. It was the first time in history that a president resigned during his tenure, and it marks the mark of American history.
The content of 1 Kings 3:3-15 we read today is that Solomon loved God and offered a thousand burnt offerings to God. When God appeared to Solomon in the middle of the night and asked, “What shall I give you?” Solomon asked for wisdom, and it It is a word that fits perfectly into the heart of God. I was soon impressed.
"Solomon asked this, and the word met the Lord's heart."
From this one verse, it is clear that Solomon had faith after God's heart.
It's really important that we're on someone's mind. You have to like someone. Children are filial to their parents when they like them. A student who is liked by a great teacher becomes a great student. If you like your friend, your friendship will deepen.
God blesses those who move him.
In the Bible, there are many instances in which death is avoided by touching someone else. Especially the case of Nabal's wife, Abigail.
[1 Samuel 25:34] As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, who has prevented me from harming you, if you had not come hastily to meet me, you would not have left a man for Nabal in the morning when it was bright.
The people of Nineveh [Jon 3:7] And the king made a decree in his stead, and proclaimed it in Nineveh, saying, "You shall not put anything in your mouth, neither man nor beast, herd or flock, at all, you shall not eat, nor drink water.
Verse 10 says that Solomon was pleased with the Lord. In the new translation of the Bible, it is translated as “You were pleased with the Lord.” In other words, I was impressed.
Three things can be found in the text of what moved Solomon to the heart of God.
1. His love touched my heart.
Solomon loved Jehovah God. Verse 3 says, “Solomon loved the Lord and did the law of his father David…” In fact, who among the saints does not love God? I love everything with my lips. However, it is not acceptable to God to love only with such a mouth.
Solomon said that he did the laws of his father David because he loved God. David's law is the word of the Lord.
I kept the law and commandments because I loved the Lord.
If you love, you will listen to him and like
Sister Lee Ye-na, who teaches piano every day, men's bedding Kim Chul-hoon Because I love you, I come to pick you up even if I'm tired even if I'm over 12.
We, who have been saved by the redemption of Christ, love the Lord. We must keep the law of the Lord because we love. Keeping the law is difficult and difficult, but if you love it, you will keep it. Just say darling, and I will protect and follow you.

2. His offering was touched.
He offered a thousand burnt offerings. Opinions are divided whether this refers to the amount of sacrifice or the number of sacrifices. However, in any case, whether they offered a thousand burnt offerings all at once or divided them into a thousand times, they offered a thousand burnt offerings.
Even though Solomon was a king, offering a thousand burnt offerings was a truly remarkable event.
It was a time when it was not yet politically and economically stable.
Although he succeeded David as king, there must have been many aftereffects because there were princes and servants who were fiercely opposed to Solomon's succession. There must have been voices accusing the king of wasting national power.
Burnt offerings were to be offered with oxen, sheep, and doves, depending on the circumstances of the offerer. It is thought that Solomon offered an ox as a burnt offering because he was a king. Then, if you catch 2 million won per cow at the current market price, it is calculated that it costs about 2 billion won for 1,000 cows. The one thousand burnt offering is an event that will surprise God even in terms of the amount and devotion of the sacrifice. Sometimes we need to surprise God.
Abraham did. God was astonished when he naively tried to sacrifice his son without any doubts or questions at the Lord's command to sacrifice his son. Thousands of burnt offerings at the high place of Gibeon were large enough to surprise and admire God. But God was surprised not only because of his devotion.
You can tell from the time when he offered a thousand burnt offerings.
Solonmon's thousand burnt offerings were offered after he became king, so there is a deeper impression.
According to 1 Kings 3:6-7, a thousand burnt offerings were not an offering to be given to be king, but an offering of thanks for being a king.
“Solomon said, “Your servant David my father walked with you before you in faithfulness, justice, and uprightness of heart, so you showed me great favor, and you also prepared this great grace for me, You have given me a son to sit on (1 Kings 3:6-7).
People can offer a thousand burnt offerings to ask for or obtain anything. But giving thanks for God's grace is very weak.
3. His prayer touched my heart.
God was moved by Solomon's dedication and appeared to him in a dream. And he asks, "What shall I give you?" Looking at this verse, there is a feeling that cannot be expressed in words.
This is the scene where God, who received the sacrifice of a thousand burnt offerings, waited for Solomon to ask for something, but when he did not ask for anything, God was frustrated and asked him first.
Why did you offer a thousand burnt offerings? God was moved by Solomon, who did not have any conditional requirements despite his extraordinary dedication and sacrifice.
That's why He says, "Ask for anything and I will give you whatever you ask for."
At this time, Solomon did not ask for his own honor or power. No money or material was sought. I only thanked God. And I asked for wisdom. He did not ask for wisdom for himself, but for the people of Israel he was in charge of.
I prayed according to God's heart.
In the end, Solomon got it all.
Here's the secret to getting what you didn't ask for. If it pleases the Lord. You just need to glorify the Lord. You just have to make God go crazy. I hope that it will become a faith that is pleasing to God.
All you need is a passionate love for God
All you need is a sacrifice of extraordinary gratitude for the grace you have received.
All you have to do is pray the prayer that fits your heart. Then it can become the faith that is pleasing to the Lord.
Luke 19:2] There was a man named Zacchaeus, a tax collector and a rich man.
[Luke 19:5] When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and looked up and said, "Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house."
Luke 19:8] Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I will give half of what I have to the poor; and if I have extorted anyone, I will repay you fourfold.
Zacchaeus was moved by the word of the Lord. We are not moved by the Lord's love for us even to the point of dying on the cross. Does the Lord have to hang on the cross once more to be moved?
[Heb 6:6] Those who have fallen cannot be renewed again to repentance, for he has crucified the Son of God again, and is markedly disgraceful.
[Colossians 2:14] He blotted out the handwriting of ceremonies that was against us and was against us, and took it off and nailed it to the cross [Galatians 6:14] But I shall never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ through Christ the world was crucified to me, and I to the world.
Homework Do two exciting things this week. The first is the people. Husband, wife, family, neighbors, everyone is good. Second, I want you to try something that impresses God. Prayer, evangelism, service, gift, etc. Anything is good I hope you try what you can
Dear brothers and sisters, God has given us the same character or emotion as God. And he gave me a heart of devotion. Devotion and emotion are what completes one work. Where there is devotion, there is emotion, and where there is emotion, there is love and blessing. If you believe in the Lord and do not create a moving event, it will be difficult to expect a crown. May we all be faithful with faith that moves God and our neighbors. So, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you may enjoy the same blessing as Solomon.
